About this house rental
This sound front cottage is a wonderful place to come and relax for a weekend get away or for a extended stay to recharge your batteries in a calming and tranquil setting. Gorgeous views from your living room/dining room table are just the beginning of your relaxing stay. The perfectly situated queen size alcove just off the kitchen and living room can be saved for later for a small child's nap, or a place to curl up and take a snooze in the middle of the afternoon.
The freestanding gas fireplace will keep you cozy warm throughout your stay, any time of year if needed, while reading a book with a glass of wine or munching on appetizers prepared in the fully functioning kitchen
If movies are your thing, a large 55 inch flat screen smart TV could be a perfect conclusion to a day of adventure cycling around the island on bikes that are provided, (4 with helmets).
Also included are two, single person kayaks with paddles and crab pots.
It is hard to beat waking up in the morning watching the sailboats from your King size bed in the water view bedroom . The second Bedroom a new addition also boasts a King size bed with roomy vaulted ceilings and its own electric fireplace. The full bathroom on the lower floor includes a large 34 X 42 inch shower and a heated tile floor. A new sitting room in the lower floor was also added to give additional space to relax. and added privacy.
On a good day, you may be fortunate enough to see our adopted Eagle perched in the trees, or the deer that come through the property foraging for food.

I wanted a place to bike, kayak, and enjoy God’s beautiful creation. Lummi island is all that! This home was a beautiful setting with porches overlooking the water. I sat for hours on the various outdoor chairs and porches watching for orcas. I did not see orcas, but it was so peaceful and perfect. Many hummingbirds buzzed right up to my face! Lots of herons, gulls, even seals spotted right off shore. Idyllic! A couple of things to know - the driveway is steep and even with our 4 wheel drive, we spun wheels at times. The host told me we could put in her kayaks off the property at low tide but better to go to nearby sunset beach to do so. It was frankly outright unsafe to put in kayaks off the property. So be prepared if you want to kayak with her kayaks, you will need to drive them to nearby sunset beach. Everything else was perfect and the host was very responsive.

The house was perfect for 4 of us. Very quiet and comfortable. Clean and extremely well-equipped. Loved the activities and just laying back to watch the Olympics on TV. We would definitely come back.

We recently stayed here and loved it! It’s a beautiful cottage right near the water. We watched bald eagles from the lawn and occasionally saw a harbor seal too. The house was lovely and my 7-year old got a kick out of sleeping in the little nook off the kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved this quiet and comfy home on the water.
This was our first stay on Lummi Island and we had a very relaxing time. The home was so comfortable and inviting and what an amazing view! The kitchen was by far the best stocked in a vacation rental that we have ever experienced, bravo!!!!! The host thought of everything. Thank you! The ferry was so much easier and less expensive than the SanJuan Island ferries and we loved that this place was so affordable. Truly a gem !!!!!

My two dogs and I spent three nights here. Beautiful cabin with everything you might need.
The view is breathtaking. The ferry ride is very convenient and hassle free.
Just one thing is that there is no access to beach. You’d have to climb over big rocks and it’s not very safe. Other than that this place is a must see!

What a wonderful house! We had such a fantastic weekend enjoying the beautiful views and exploring the Island. The house was perfect. Everything was well stocked and clean. We didn’t want for anything. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning and watching the local wildlife. And then finishing the day playing games or watching a movie on the huge TV. The owners very quick in responding to our inquiries. We have already recommended it to our family.

This house was perfect for our family of 4 and two dogs. Coordination was easy, location was absolutely perfect, and the house had everything you needed. This is one of those rentals where they have thought about the little things that can help make your stay better. The house was the perfect size, the beds were super comfortable, and the location was private with a great view of the water. We did some of the hikes on Lummi and visited Sunset Beach and Church Beach, both of which we recommend.

If you are having any hesitation about booking.....just do it! You will not be disappointed. The owners have creatively used all the space available. There are so many comfortable places to relax in the home. Outside the views were amazing! I would absolutely recommend this property! Plus, the owner was very responsive to my questions as well. Great time had by all!

Sweet little home on Lummi island. Great place for our family of 4 to hang and relax together. Beautiful water views, quiet, relaxing. We loved the yard and firepit plus well-furnished deck w/ grill. The beds and furniture were all very comfy too. Nice island escape for the weekend. It suited our needs well.

Having lived on the island for 20 years and having rented many other houses since then I feel I have a good amount of varied experiences,
I was looking for a place to bring somebody who has never been to the island with a view of the water.
The property is great and the house met our needs. Kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking and has some staples.
things to note.. the main coffee maker is a single cup style.
Very limited counter space so more then 2 folks would be stepping on each other.. a island counter would be a great addition.
VERY large comforter on the beds so it was either too hot or too cool with only a sheet-
The short drive way is VERY steep and is loose gravel. this was ok since it was so dry but any rain or snow and you would not be able to drive out except for 4WD maybe.. it also will be difficult to walk up or down if you had mobility issues...
the host was quick to answer questions and we were very satisfied with our stay..

Good location, nice cabin on the water. Looked forward to the bicycles but one of them had a hole in the tire. Gas oven dial was broken which was concerning as it was difficult to turn the gas off.
The beds we’re comfortable, lots of space for 5 of us. Great views of the ocean. Steep and Rocky down to the water, difficult to get the kayaks to.

We enjoyed our stay on Lummi Island so much! The house was clean and comfy, with plenty of room for our group of 4. Highlight was the water and mountain views, and the family of sea otters we saw every night at sunset! We also enjoyed taking the bikes out for a cruise to Sunset Beach. Highly recommend this home!

Amazing alternative to San Juan or Orcas. Very good value for a nicely furnished beautiful cabin on the water. A few unfinished trim sections but overall very new feel. A bit of a bill to get to the water but great view of Baker and nice view from the living room and main bedroom.

Beautiful house with all the amenities , saw orca whales from the backyard, along with eagles and hummingbirds. Great gas fireplace and grill on patio. If you want a place with total relaxation and beautiful views, this is it.

We really enjoyed our time on Lummi Island. The house was a perfect refuge to enjoy nature and get away from it all.

This was a girls getaway with a dear friend & our two dogs. The size of the cabin was just right and it had some delightful extras; tether ball, mini ping pong table, kayaks, & bikes. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for eating a few meals in. We also really like the Beach Cafe for a dinner out. The view was breathtaking & we also enjoyed a long walk w/the dogs on a nearby public beach. We had a question for the owners who responded immediately via text & then a phone call. The stairs to the downstairs were a bit steep, so we had to carry my friend's elderly dog up & down since she's unstable on her paws. Other than that, it was a perfect place for our fun weekend on Lummi Island.

This is our second time visiting the cabin and our stay was just as lovely! Loved starting the day looking over the water and ending them on the tucked away bench overlooking Mt Baker.
House is very clean, comfortable and well stocked, the addition of propane grill on the front deck frees you up of the frequent fire bans on the island. Terrific place to relax and recharge!

A lovely place
A unique and relaxing getaway! Home was comfortable and well stocked. Enjoyed the kayaks at sunset beach, the fire pit, and starfish! Great view from multiple rooms! A fun day exploring the islands farm stands and gift shops. Would definitely return and rent this home again!

Peaceful place with a gorgeous view!
We loved staying here. The views were great and the property clean. We especially liked that there were kayaks and bikes available to explore the island with from both the land and water. The sea otters played in the water just in front of the home, and there were sea lions and a bald eagle that hung out about a1/4 mile down the beach-- an easy walk from the house and down to the beach. We will come back!

Loved looking out on the water, relaxing on the soft grass, sprawling out on a couch that a whole family could curl up on, fabulous beds with an amazing view, eagles and seals and gorgeous cedars. We loved playing with the dogs at Sunset beach and walking in the forest at the Otto Preserve. My daughter now wants to move here! Thanks Kathleen, for a great stay.
