About this house rental
Hurricane Helene Update:
The Creek House is open!
Friends, Family, and Helene Volunteer Discounts available!
Power, internet, hot tub, and creature comforts in the home are restored and the home is fully operational!
Hot Springs downtown experienced flooding, and the main downtown section and Hot Springs Resort and Spa are in various stages of cleanup and repair. Each of these businesses are closed.
The businesses that are open in town include Sara Jo’s Gas Station, Smoky Mountain Diner, Dollar General, and a couple of beverage/small grocery stores. They would love your business.
Many trails are accessible around the area, and Hot Springs is a central location for adventures in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountains National Park. Nearby attractions are the Biltmore Estate, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and more.
All major roads into and out of Hot Springs are accessible and safe.
The Creek House is a family favorite and a great place to gather and enjoy the area and each other in Hot Springs, NC. The house is also a comfortable retreat for a couple or group of friends who are looking to get away from it all.
The house sleeps up to 8 guests and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, plus a bonus room with a set of twin beds off of the upstairs "master", full kitchen, living room, dining table for 6 guests, large covered back deck over the creek, outdoor hot tub, and direct access to one of the best swimming holes and fishing spots on Spring Creek.
The master bedroom is located at the top of the stairs and has a king-sized bed and en suite bathroom. The upstairs bathroom includes a whirlpool garden tub.
There is a bedroom with 2 twin beds that is adjacent to the upstairs king bed. Guest must pass through the loft bedroom to get to the twin bedroom. They are separated by a curtain. This considered a bonus room. Good for families and friends who can share space.
The main level features a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and another bedroom with 2 twin-sized beds. The bathroom downstairs includes a shower only along with a laundry area that is available to guests.
The kitchen is fully equipped and adorable with a dining table to host your delicious meals. There is also a grill to use if you are fortunate enough to catch your dinner in the creek.
The living room is cozy and has a gas fireplace to enjoy during the cooler months.
The large back deck is the best place in the house during Spring, Summer, and Fall. You will see water birds, beavers, and otters if you are lucky and relax with the sounds of the creek below. A 4-person hot tub is located on the deck.
Hurricane Helene tore out the stone steps leading down to the creek from the Creek House lower dick.
We are working on getting this restored and hope that it will be rebuilt by the Spring of 2025. For now, you can still make your way down to the creek from the property, just not as easily as with the steps.
Hot Springs is a great destination in all seasons! The weather is mild, and roads are tended in the wintertime. We love to hike the Lover's Leap trail on cool, sunny days when things are a bit quieter around here. Hot Springs is central to some great hiking and exploring in the WNC and East Tennessee area. And a trip to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville can be a truly wonderful experience anytime of the year.
Summer is a wonderful season to enjoy many things to do outside, including rafting and tubing, horseback riding, and venturing up to Max Patch Bald.
Spring sees beautiful mountain wildflowers and hikers traveling through on the Appalachian Trail.
Fall never disappoints with endless potentials to see the trees changing at different elevations and finishing your day with a fire and soak in the natural hot springs or a beer at Big Pillow Brewing.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the home and area, and we hope you will consider the Creek House for your vacation!

Loved the house. Very comfortable for my whole family and very well stocked. Great location. Loved relaxing on the porch and enjoying the creek!

This house had everything we needed. Large porch and hot tub right on the creek. New furniture on the porch is nice. Two short blocks to town. Great place to stay home, walk into town, or venture out on any number of day trips.

Had a great stay at the Creek House for our club's annual summer paddle on the French Broad. We've stayed in Karen's properties for this event since 2011. Six of us spent the last two paddle years here and waiting for the bookings to open up for next year.

Best outside VRBO experience, worst inside experience. This place really needs a DEEP clean! Kitchen cabinets / counters were covered in grease / grime / dirt which stuck to your hands when touching them. Mold was growing in the refrigerator in multiple spots. Coffee / tea bar was filthy and had to be cleaned including the coffee maker, and the tea water warmer still had old water in it. Coffee cups were still dirty and had to be washed, as well as the pans coated with grease. Dish towels had human hair in them likely from being washed with soiled bath linens. No cleaning products were anywhere. Back door had a ton of dirt / grime build up which came off with some cleaner. When we called the owner we were told that the cleaning lady had to open up a closet for us to get them which was strange given there was plenty of toilet paper, shampoo, and other items. We opted to go get our own at the Dollar General to avoid an awkward confrontation with the cleaning lady who obviously didn't do a great job of cleaning the property. To our surprise one of the first things we saw when we entered the house was an envelope for tipping the house keeper. One would wonder why this is there if the place was so dirty, and not to mention the separate cleaning fee you pay to VRBO. We opted to not tip simply based on this. All of the other rooms / bed linens were clean as well as the bathrooms. The porch and hot tub were both clean. Upon using the beach we did find broken glass.

The house is easily walkable to the restaurants in town, but we cooked in as well.
The swimming area is a huge plus in the summer time.
Beautiful house and property. Would absolutely stay again.

Forget your troubles and be soothed by the sound of Spring Creek just off your spacious, covered, private and comfortable hot tub-equipped back deck. We love this charming house and its in-town convenience, and enjoy staying typically 3 times a year. Catch us on cool mountain mornings with a cup of coffee enjoying the birdsong from the deck's comfortable seating. House is very well appointed, including a cook's kitchen, coffee supplies, shampoo, etc., best hosts ever, and all the superlatives your thesaurus can muster. What are you waiting for? Make that reservation. You will not regret it.

We loved the Creekhouse. The location is perfect with the creek bubbling right behind the house. The deck with the hot tub was a great way to relax after a day of hiking through beautiful terrain. We will be back someday!

Such a wonderful property in a perfect location. My favorite part was the creek directly behind the house. So relaxing! I’d 100% stay there again!

Location is absolutely perfect. Great fishing from the property. Well supplied kitchen. Only complaint would be the smell of the hot tub. The Hot Tub was nice , but it smelled like it’s time for new head rests. As someone who owns a hot tub, it needed some water . Your house is really cool. I would definitely go back.

Love this charming house with the best location on Spring Creek in Hot Springs. The large covered deck over a wide section of the creek with a sandy beach and shoals up and downstream is unmatched in the area. We stay 3 times a year at least. Thanks for another fantastic stay.

What a delightful creekside home. Slept to the gentle sounds of Spring Creek gurgling outside. Large deck. Hot tub. Swimming beach. Fresh flowers. Coffee. Soaps. Linens and towels. Nice little library and game cabinet. Walked to town for coffee and shopping. We want to stay there again! Rates a BEST BUY for the price.

We rented this property for a girls getaway. We had a lovely time. We were impressed with how well stocked the property was in terms of common household items (coffee, trash bags, dish soap, etc). We enjoyed using the hottub and fireplace. It was such a lovely home.

Amazing quaint property walking distance from town and conveniently located on the river perfect for a Polar Plunge if you dare. House was clean, well stocked and perfect for our adult weekend getaway with friends.

We had a lovely weekend in Hot Springs thanks, in part, to our stay. It was a perfect place for a group of friends because there were enough beds for everyone in the group!

We came to stay during a snowy weekend and had the best time. The house was perfectly set up for us and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and gave us enough space. We enjoyed the hot tub on the back deck. The town is very cute with plenty of choices.
We all agreed we would love to come back in warm weather.

My family and I loved our stay at the Creek House! What a wonderful place for a laidback family Christmas. We also loved the Christmas lights and wreath on the front door, it was a lovely festive touch! The house itself had plenty of room for our group of six adults, and we enjoyed the soothing river sounds, relaxing in the hot tub, enjoying bonfires by the creek, and having our morning coffee on the back porch. Regarding the amenities, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our Christmas dinner and the supplies like extra towels and sheets made it feel like a home away from home. We would definitely stay again, thank you for providing such a relaxing experience!

Our group of college girlfriends (now all grandmothers) meet every year for a weekend get-away. This was a perfect location with plenty of beds, a kitchen and dining table big enough to accommodate all of us fixing meals together, and a large covered deck overlooking the creek. We'd sit outside just to listen to the water. And the house was close enough to the small downtown that we could walk to restaurants and shopping. Perfect!!!

Property was wonderful, very clean and well stocked with everything you need. The town was wonderful as well. Nice little restaurants, beautiful river, nice hiking trails. Ours was a group of four ladies. We spent part of our time in Hot springs and part of our time in Asheville shopping. Wonderful getaway, I highly recommend it

Though the house was very nice and had a wonderful jacuzzi and access to the creek below, my husband in a wheelchair couldn’t get in the front door without assistance and had no where to bathe as the master tub is up stairs and the only bathroom downstairs is a small shower. The key for the house is located at a regular persons height so my husband could not reach. If you are in a wheelchair and unable to walk this may not be the spot for you.

A few friends get together a couple of times a year in Hot Springs. We used to camp but now enjoy the convenience of a cabin. This is our second stay and the place is delightful! We enjoyed the hot tub, the comfy beds, the gorgeous kitchen and sitting by the river. We had a nice fire outside and were entertained by a family of Otter!
Can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the Creek House 3 nights. Our family of four and another family of four shared the home. The size of the home was perfect, lots of room to stretch out.
The cons are, there is only one shower in the two bathroom home. This was NOT a big deal at all but worth mentioning.
The only other problem we encountered, was the bathtub upstairs in the master bedroom ran a constant, steady stream of water. This prevented us from having a hot shower. This was a problem that could happen anywhere, including our own home. The owner was quick to respond and let us know how the situation was going to be handled. This did not ruin our stay!
There were so many positives to this sweet house!
We LOVE the location and the coziness of the home.
The house was well stocked, I even found a hand mixer!
The towels were nice, the sheets and beds were very comfortable. Even the paper products and shampoo/conditioner, were high quality!
The house was a short walk to the cozy town of Hot Springs. We felt extremely safe!
We enjoyed the creek behind the house and the hot tub on the porch was very relaxing!
We enjoyed the Big Pillow Brewery, great tacos and live music!!
We did some Whitewater Rafting in Marshall, 20-25 minute drive, amazing!
We did some tubing and hiked some of the Appalachian trail.
Lots of happy memories were made at the Creek House! Thank you for sharing your home!

Just absolutely 5 stars from start to finish. The spot on the creek with the fire pit and large sitting area was perfect and the large deck overlooking the water with hot tub was perfect. The home was beautiful and a short walk from everything that downtown has to offer which is a lot! A perfect stay.

The entire trip was awesome. The Creek house exceeded expectations. The town of Hot Springs did not disappoint. The hiking, fishing, and rafting were great. Can’t say enough good things about the whole experience. Thank you so much.

We relaxed by a creek in a quaint cottage that is fully modernized. The town was small but within 1 hour driving distance to Pigeon Forge, TN and Ashville NC.
Anyone who likes rafting, tubing and hiking should check this place out!

We stayed here for a wedding at a nearby venue. The property was exactly as described, check-in and check-out were a breeze. The house was clean, well stocked, and steps from the river. Only about a 10 minute walk from the stores and restaurants in downtown Hot Springs. Hot tub was awesome, and no complaints from us whatsoever.

When we enter through the Creek House's charming front door accented with stained glass and sink into a comfy chair on the large covered deck overlooking the shoals and eddies of beautiful Spring Creek, we breathe a sigh of relief and contentment. It feels both like home and an unmatched getaway from the rest of life's tedium. Well appointed, spotlessly clean and warm and welcoming no matter the weather with the covered porch. In town yet a peaceful setting. We rent 3 times a year or more, enjoy it ourselves or have family and friends join us. Always a delight. Do not hesitate to book your own getaway. What are you waiting for? Life is short, my friend. Treat yourself.
