We stayed for 8 nights, it was great. Plenty of room inside and well equipped with just about everything you need (sadly we didn't notice the blueberry muffins the host had provided until we were leaving!). The deck and outdoor space were great with seabreeze and views. Our dog particularly enjoyed the ability to roam around outside without leash. Easy access to downtown SB, Montecito and spectacular beaches east of SB. Would love to return!

This property met with my teenage daughter's approval and that itself merits it 5 star ratings. We spent sunset hours mostly in spacious balcony from where you can see a canopy of green and the pacific ocean. The garden below is lush and beautiful. You know it has been grown with care over decades. The house is spacious, kitchen is modern and the bathrooms beautiful. We locked ourselves out late at night on account of our own errors and the owner (and her daughter) responded quickly. Beyond the house, while we enjoyed everything in Santa Barbara, our highlights were 2 - one sunset on the nearby Santa Claus beach and the Vedanta temple a bit further up on the hills behind the house.

We enjoyed our time at this home and its beautiful view. The house is spacious and had a great location, with a cool breeze coming in from the west. However, the furnishings are quite old, and most of the outdoor seating is not worth sitting on—uncomfortable, dirty, spiderwebs, lichen, etc. The outdoor tabletop consisted of a piece of warped plywood with a tablecloth over it. (There was a note from the host saying that would be replaced later). There was one newish outdoor sofa that we spent most of our time on, and we enjoyed that. None of the large screen doors worked properly; we were constantly putting them back on their slides. The house had everything we needed… and a few things we didn’t want, like lots of old personal hygiene products in the bathroom drawers and cabinets. The interior was clean, and the kitchen looked recently remodeled. The carpeting in the house was quite old/worn. Important to note that this is not a stand-alone house. The VRBO rental is the upper level of the house, and there is someone (I think the host?) living in the lower level. The garden has orange, peach, lemon and avocado trees. Overall, view and location are great, but at over $600/night, we felt we had paid too much. We would not rent again due to the discrepancy between the furnishings and the price.

Comfortable and spotlessly clean home in a convenient location near Carpinteria, Summerland and Hwy 101. Surrounded by stunning gardens with lots of indoor and outdoor space. Host provided several nice amenities such as coffee, croissants and facial skin care products. Also, she was very helpful and responsive.

The communication with VRBO was so awful that awful would say it’s awful. NEVER received a confirmation NEVER received ANYTHING”.” Based on my experience with VRBO I wouldn’t let VRBO manage a pay toilet!!!!!
I was EXTREMELY grateful that the owner of the property got involved even they said VRBO was worthless.
Finally got a phone call from “someone” not sure what country couldn’t understand a single word what that person said…..saved it as a joke if anyone wants a laugh I’ll forward it

This well maintained house was perfect for our weekend wedding in the Santa Barbara area. All of the accommodations were perfect. The spacious balcony with views toward the Pacific Ocean is spectacular. It was perfectly located for us with quick access to the Pacific Coast Highway.

It was a perfect location to our fundraising event. The common living space was perfect for preparing for the event as well as our debrief!

The house is located an easy 10 minutes south of downtown Santa Barbara near Summerland, a laid-back little community with a couple good cafes. It was the perfect size for my husband and myself plus two young teen boys. All the amenities and easy parking. Beautiful view of the water from the back porch. There is a nice little beach about 3 minutes drive down the road which we found to be not as crowded as the beaches nearer SB. We’d definitely go back.

Large tranquil patio overlooking a luscious tree canopy with a remarkable variety of flora adorned with oceanviews.
Birdlife, horses and rustling tree leaves are a welcome respite from the city sounds.
All necessary amenities and well equipped kitchen. Private driveway and secure parking.
Serene neigborhood with peaceful neighbors and beautiful surroundings.
Large spacious rooms throughout.
Owner’s communication readily available and prompt yet not overbearing.
Property location private, at the same time accessibility to Summerland and local beaches a short drive.

We enjoyed staying in the Summerland. The big porch was lovely to sit on (rain or shine) while looking out over the valley and the ocean. The yard was big and a nice place for our dog to get out. There are also several nice walks nearby.
The two main bedrooms are big and comfortable. The third bedroom is small and probably best for 1 person or a child or two.

We reserved this property on short notice the week before Christmas. Our hostess was kind enough to put out Christmas decorations for us and make some personal recommendations for us based on her knowledge of the area. We enjoyed some time together in the sun.

The house was very clean and tidy. The house is just extremely dated.

This property was as advertised-almost wheelchair accessible-with two stairs to enter the house. The treat was to be able to get out to the veranda and among the trees and birds without any help. Being outside on the second floor was a cool experience. The well stocked kitchen was much appreciated and it was easy driving distance to Santa Barbara, Solvang, and Carpenteria. Disabled travelers will need to be able to transfer to a shower chair in the bathroom but this rental was pretty user friendly.

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Summerland. We have family in Santa Barbara but this was our first time in Summerland and it's such a magical place! This rental was perfect for us - two sitting rooms with incredibly comfortable furniture, a large kitchen with everything we needed to cook delicious meals, an extra large balcony with comfy couches and GORGEOUS views, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large tub! The place has big windows in every room and lots of light. You can see the ocean through the trees from the balcony and the weather in October was perfect for sitting outside. The beach is so easy to get to and was one of the best beaches we've been to. Susan left a sweet welcoming letter and was very accessible and responsive to any questions we had. She provided us with EVERYTHING we could possibly need during our stay. She even made us some delicious muffins and let us take avocados from her tree! Five stars!!!

Susan is a wonderful hostess. The house is on the southern end of Summerland. Great coffee shop and housewares. The Beach is amazing!! Dogs are allowed on beach. Great parking.
The house was very clean and well kept. Susan addressed my only concern.

We were in town to celebrate our Mom’s 70th and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Susan is very prompt and thoughtful in her communication and the home is located a short drive from Santa Barbara. It was the perfect blend and quiet and stunning while still having access to all the fun downtown. We can’t wait to come back!

We had the most fantastic stay! The home is minutes from the freeway, and very easy to locate. We loved that the home is not on a traditional street/neighborhood- it’s private with plenty of parking and quietly surrounded by beautiful fruit trees and seasonal vegetation. The house is perfectly distributed in space offering various spots to sit and enjoy each other’s company, the outside beautiful long balcony that oversees the ocean, and best of all- it’s nooks for your quiet moments. Overall, it was all that we wanted for our family and more. We look forward to many more stays. Thank you, Susan for sharing your beautiful home!

Luxurious Santa Barbara getaway
We had a lovely time at Susan's home. The property has plenty of space, is very clean and the 40+ foot covered porch is the highlight where we enjoyed breakfast, did yoga and watched stars at night. Susan also gave us useful restaurant recommendations. The property is very conveniently located to take advantage of the activities in the area. We would gladly stay again.

Beyond Expectations!
Amazing home, gorgeous property, gracious and welcoming hostess - this experience exceeded all of our expectations! We have rented through various agencies in several states over the years, but this visit rises to the top of the list.... Everything was very lovingly maintained, the home well-stocked with everything from spices and cookware to extra towels and bedding. There was plenty of room for all of us (three grandparents, our daughter and the two of us) to spread out and have privacy or to gather in one location... usually, the deck to enjoy the views. We couldn't have asked for a better visit, and Susan was a wonderful host. We highly recommend enjoying this home and would love to return!

Great cozy classic rental
This rental was very enjoyable. First, Susan was a fantastic host and is very responsive. We knew if we needed anything she’d be ready. Second, the home is classic and feels like a home. It is very well appointed and has everything you need. The deck is fantastic and looks over avocado trees straight to the ocean. We truly enjoyed our stay in a great location and will be returning whenever we can.

Weekend getaway
We celebrated my husband's 60th by coming to Santa Barbara and stayed at Susan's property. It was an outstanding experience. The house is in a good location, quiet and serene. There is a view of the ocean in the distance but the over all ambience is very nice. She was very helpful when we texted her about something, she lives in the bottom level, so it was easy to get hold of her. Our whole family had a good experience and made more memories together. Thank you

Beautiful aery views, spacious, tastefully decorated, with gardens
This was perfect for my family of four plus mother-in-law. The master bedrooms are generous in size; the third bedroom had a trundle bed suitable for our two kids under age 10.
It has a view of the ocean just above the treeline, beautiful plantings, and the bucolic sound of bullfrogs at night. 10 min. drive to downtown SB. The host is impeccably conscientious in her responses to all queries and was a pleasure to work with on this successful vacation.

Lovely home, thoughtful host
This was a wonderful spot for our cozy, homey Christmas with my elderly mom. Our host thoughtfully provided many welcoming touches, including Christmas decorations, warm winter sheets, and firewood. Nice views of the ocean and easy access for a beach walk. While we were there in a rainy winter patch, I could see that everything you’d want for enjoying the yard or an afternoon on the beach was made available.

We had a lovely time. We really enjoyed the wonderful ocean view balcony and the fire pit. The house was comfortable, I enjoyed the quiet, and waking up to the sunrise over the ocean.
Thanks Susan for going out of your way to make sure we had everything we needed.

Heaven
Truly an amazing view. Floor to ceiling windows, the house is incredible. Very clean and comfortable. My mom is 86 and she could easily get in and out. I want to move the balcony to my house. Coffee in the morning, watching the birds was my favorite but the sunset was everyone else's.

Perfect spot for our itinerary, which included a daytrip to Solvang for a car show, Cold Spring Tavern for lunch, and visits to Summerland and the Santa Barbara Marina. Our 1st impression included fresh muffins left for the morning. Thank you Susan, very thoughtful. The highlight of the property, along with location, is definitely the "veranda", where we spent most of our time when not galavanting around the area. It is a balcony that spans the length of the house with lots of spaces to relax, lovely nature sounds and views, peeks of the ocean in the distance and a refreshing ocean breeze... perfect! The kitchen is large and had all we needed to prepare meals, which we did 3 of the 4 nights. Convenient!Suggestions: Main Bathroom- instructions for how to activate the shower would have been helpful as we're not tub people and had never seen that type of fixture before. Luckily our friends were familiar with it, however, once we got the shower working l, the water was just one painful stream. Beds- personally speaking, the mattresses were firm to an uncomfortable extreme for us and our friends. Foam toppers would help, but could be easily removed by guests who appreciate a hard bed. Family Rm- Seating space was tight for 4 adults when ready to settle down for a game or movie. We ended up moving a dining room chair in to allow us to spread out a bit. The living room is more spacious, but no TV.All in all, we really enjoyed our 4 days away with friends in this intimate garden setting and, with those few minor adjustments, we would definitely stay again. Thanks again Susan!

I stayed at this property with 2 co-workers. I was very pleased with how the host handled the communication prior to our arrival and she was there to greet us and tour us the house.
It was nice to wake up in the Morning to an amazing view and have breakfast at the porch.
The house is close to the beach and 5 to 10 min drive to everything we needed.
We had a great time. Thank you Susan.

Nice home with plenty of space inside and out. Enjoyed sitting in the living room with the view of the canopy of the trees in the backyard. Host was quite helpful left the lights on so we could find the home easily late at night. Fresh baked muffins were yummy and made us feel at home. Will definitely stay here in the future.
