About this house rental

Experience the amazing views of the sparkling sea at the newly renovated Dolphin Manor by Gather. This home, located on the Big Island’s rocky west coast, provides the amenities and location to enjoy this beautiful setting. Experience the waves crashing from the wrap-around lanai of this stunning five-bedroom, six-bath estate. This private, gated plantation-style property oozes old-world charm but has all the modern conveniences that you crave. There’s no shortage of rooms with a view inside this nearly 3700 sqft home, and the backyard pool and spa provide sought-after outdoor space from which to enjoy the island breezes and ample sunshine that makes Kailua-Kona a popular destination. This home is a short walk to Kona town with a wealth of choices of shopping and restaurants.

Double doors lead into the foyer, where you’re greeted by vaulted ceilings and a grand staircase that flows directly into the great room. The fully renovated kitchen, with its top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and large island, is a chef’s dream. Whip up your family’s favorite meal on the gas cooktop while gazing out at the endless Pacific Ocean. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a spacious laundry room with dual washers/dryers, which could also serve as additional pantry space should you need it. Beyond the large dining table, the bright living room has lots of space to gather. The two larger sofas not only provide a comfortable spot from which to enjoy the view or to curl up with a book plucked from the built-in bookshelves, but they also transform into sleeper sofas to accommodate additional guests. The bright blue of the ocean is put on full display through the windows and a sliding glass door that leads out to the wrap-around lanai and the backyard beyond. Relax with an ice-cold drink on the poolside loungers as you take in the sights and sounds of the “gold coast.” Take a dip in the plunge pool, soak in the spa, or try your hand at a grilled local dish on the provided BBQ. The ground floor of Dolphin Manor also boasts an air-conditioned media room with comfy seating and a large flat-screen TV, as well as a private office so you can get some work done. These rooms also have access to a full bath.

Your entire extended family can join you in paradise when you stay at Dolphin Manor, as this property sleeps up to 18 guests! Wake up to never-ending ocean views from the king-size bed of the large primary bedroom. Glass sliders open to the wrap-around lanai, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or pick out the constellations in the sky at night. The primary bedroom also has a large flat-screen TV and its own private ensuite, with dual sinks, a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. Two of the upstairs guest bedrooms are ocean-facing and have lanai access, king-size beds, and ensuites, including one with a soaking tub. While the other two bedrooms have lanai access, king-size beds, ensuites with bathtubs, and an office area. All bedrooms have air conditioning and flat-screen TVs.

There is space in front of the home to park up to four vehicles, so rent a car and explore the Big Island! Visit world-class beaches like Makalawena or Hapuna, both in the Kailua-Kona region. Or if driving is not your thing, you can walk 5 minutes to a sand beach, Honl’s Beach. If you’re up for a day trip, make the drive to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where Kilauea has been actively erupting since 1983 and isn’t expected to stop anytime soon. You can get a glimpse of this incredible natural phenomenon by booking a tour via boat or helicopter, or if you prefer to stay on land, you can hike over the rugged terrain toward the lava flow. The lengthy drive boasts spectacular scenery and is worth this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Please note that this property is not equipped with A/C in the common areas, such as the living room, dining room, and kitchen.

This property was perfect for our family of 11. Most in Hawaii for the first time. It was worth every penny to stay in beautiful Dolphin Manor. We loved being all together enjoying the shared spaces, especially the lanai which was very safe for our youngest grandson of 19 months. Plenty of bedrooms, most with a view of the ocean and very nice spacious bathrooms. We made wonderful memories on this trip of a lifetime!

The pool is a bit small and it needed a cleaning when we got there but they handled it right away. The sounds of the ocean were worth the price. It was great for everyone room to have its own bathroom, kitchen was beautiful, double washer and dryers were awesome. The stay was perfect

We really enjoyed the property. The pictures were somewhat misleading for the size of the parking area and the pool. There were 14 of us and enough hot water was the only issue after a day at the beach and everyone needing to take a shower. We loved our trip!!

Perfect set up for two families with teens. Mornings on the porch sipping Kona coffee were priceless. We also loved the private snorkeling spot right in front of the house. Use the large flat rock for entry 🌊 We can’t wait to visit again!

My boys and I have been going away every summer for over 10 years. We meet up with my brothers and their families in different states. This summer it was Hawaii at the Dolphin Manor and I said to the kids, "I don't think we will ever be able to top this place." The kitchen is my dream kitchen and was stocked with sharp knives and top-of-the-line pots, pans, dishes, and any kitchen gadget you could think of - rice cookers, coffee/teapots, blenders, grinders etc. But it was "nature bathing" for tired souls from the east coast that got me - ocean therapy each morning, sunsets each evening, walks to town, etc was perfect. Thank you for a memory that will last a lifetime.
