Rich with rustic charm and modern comfort, this delightful cabin offers a prime slice of lakefront, Maine living. Sitting on a small hilltop near the shore, this two-bedroom-plus-loft cabin is surrounded by naturally growing birch, spruce and cedar trees. Large boulders, left by the receding glaciers, can be found scattered around the common-area grounds. A wooded walking path winds down from the cabin to the shore of Prong Lake.
From sun-up to sun-down, the expansive, private deck is a great place to take in the property's natural beauty. Fire up the gas grill for a backwoods barbecue or whip up homestyle meals in the fully-equipped kitchen. In the evening, spread out on the living room sofa for game nights and movies on the flatscreen TV or head down out to the wood-burning firepit for fireside gathering under the stars.

Very spacious, lovely location - surrounded by trees, fantastic view to prong mountain from the pond-side deck (tho the view from the cabin itself is more of the treed surrounds, with water glimpse), carefully sited so the next door cabin does not overlook. Equipped with all you need - they have clearly listened to previous reviews as there was a kettle, coffee, and salt and pepper! beautiful tranquil stay.

Great property. Lots of stairs to get into house. Kitchen table set up not user friendly.

Highly recommend! Beautiful area and property close to town so many attractions nearby but yet far enough to provide quiet tranquil space.! Definitely will rent again!

Overall, a great property and a relaxing visit, with poor communication/customer service from Vacasa. I won’t get “into the weeds” about our issue, but good service has one take responsibility where due, and act QUICKLY to make things balance equitably for all. I would not rent from a Vacasa property again.
I loved that there was firewood on-site/included. The property is not quite as accessible as I thought it would be--just an FYI for anyone else physically disabled. It’s not the property's fault, there’s just a lot of stairs up to cabin, and a lot down to the water/firepit.
I recommend you bring extra fans.
As others have said, the cabins are closer than the listing leads one to believe (just an FYI).
We chose this location as dogs are allowed—it’s a great place for dogs!
The original listing said it had on-site, coin-op laundry. It does not. Many of the items listed as property amenities said “nearby” following, but the line about the coin-op laundry did not. So, we had to wear dirty clothes for two days in hot July, which wasn’t fun.
I would absolutely return to this property again, but probably not if Vacasa is running the show.

We’ve been coming to this cabin (or its sister property) on Prong Pond for a decade. The whole family looks forward to the trip each year and it never disappoints. The cabin is comfortable and well appointed. The pond is beautiful and you can enjoy it easily from the dock or using the canoe & kayak provided. Tons of nearby hiking and whitewater rafting is only an hour or so away. Whether outdoor adventures or relaxation is what you’re looking for, this cabin is a great option.

This cabin was pristine and perfect for us and our small dog. There’s a bit of a hill climb up and down to get to the shore, but the path was well kept and we needed the exercise! Loons and eagles entertained us daily. Close to Lily Bay state park (beautiful!) and Greenville, plenty to keep kids and outdoor people alike busy. We were thrilled to get a chance to relax on a lake.

The cabin was clean. The towels were nicely stocked. The beds were comfy and the blankets warm. We sat on the dock and around the fire pit looking for shooting stars !

We had a lovely stay at Prong Pond. The property is quiet, and although there are two cabins next to each other, they still feel private. About 6 miles outside of "downtown" Greenville, just the right distance away. The pond was quiet when we were there, perfect for paddling. Amazing scenery and wildlife, although we didn't see a moose, which was one of our goals. Great vacation!

We’ve been staying at Prong Mountain (or it’s sister cabin Birch Overlook) for a decade now. We love returning to Prong Pond for the quiet relaxation, many great hikes in the area, and occasional wildlife sightings. It’s a comfortable cabin for up to 6 people, and quite spacious for our family of 3. The post 2020 updates of private fire pit and comfy sectional are great. And the Wi-Fi works well (both a blessing and a curse).

My husband and I had a very relaxing vacation on Prong Pond. The setting is so picturesque and the few people we met while walking in the area were very friendly and helpful regarding places to hike and sites to see. My husband was thrilled to catch some good size smallmouth bass and I loved going out in the canoe with him him and our dog just as the sun was rising. Ritchie was very responsive with any questions we had and the cabin was clean and comfortable for our stay. We hope to come back next Fall!

Cottage was neat and tidy with comfortable beds, everything we needed in the kitchen, and a quick walk to the pond. Really enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on Prong Pond--so beautiful and peaceful. Great place to get away!

This is a semi-private cabin. There are two near each other but when you arrive you'll see you're basically left alone. Cabin is clean and beautiful. Fire pit is in between the cabin and the pond (which looks more like a lake). When we come back, we will book here again.

Cabin has everything you need! Very clean. Dogs are allowed so there is dog hair but not a problem, does not smell like animals. Cozy lake cabin, right on water. Kayak and canoe are great!

Quiet, peaceful, quality fishing. It is exactly what me and my wife wanted. There was a cabin next to us but hardly came across each other. Only noise was maybe a small motor boat but rare.
Loved it

Relaxing Getaway
Cabin was cozy and very well kept. Perfect location on the pond. We took the canoe out and paddled around the pond before settling in around the outside fire.

Great Location
The cabin is in the middle of the woods on a the beautiful Prong Pond - What a view! We arrived at the cabin stocked with everything that we needed. The cabin has so much to offer with the kayaks / canoe and a great fire pit you really don't need to go anywhere else but close by are some fantastic hikes that you don't want to miss. It is a beautiful place.

Peaceful
Beautiful quiet property with a pretty view of the pond and woods. Quiet, serene . The cabin is beautiful and clean. We spent many hours on the deck or sitting on the ponds edge looking at the scenery and listening to the beautiful sounds of the loons. We had a wonderful outdoor fire, and on the rainy nights were able to play board games and watch movies. We loved the short walk through the woods to get to the waters edge. Short ride to the town with beautiful views of Moosehead Lake . If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to be ! Thank you!

Beautiful vacation property
Loved everything about this place, almost! It was very clean, and cooking utensils were over and above, no need to pack anything extra from home, like I usually do, just in case. Being situated close to the lake was wonderful, but 1 drawback was that it was very difficult to drag a large heavy 2 person kayak down the steep embankment and get in it.

Great swimming and so quiet
Such a good spot. We had lots of quiet time and swam lots! Even got to enjoy some canoeing with our tiny kiddos. Really looking forward to coming back again next summer. Did you know that canoe out front is a sand box? A What a treat for the tiny kids!

Amazing
Such an amazing property. The feeling about the environment of the woods and the lake with an awesome wood cabin. Not a single issue with the entire place everything worked perfectly. A great place to disconnect and hang out on the lake or spend time with friends or family.

Perfect getaway!
10 people in our group, teenagers to Grandparents. We rented 2 cabins that were close enough to still feel connected, but far enough apart to enjoy the space! We would definitely rent again.

Another fabulous week
We’ve been staying at Moosetrack Cottages for years. The property continues to be a fantastic home base for exploring the Moosehead Lake region and all it has to offer. The new fire pits for each cabin are a fantastic addition as is the new super comfy sectional in the cabin. Thanks for another fantastic stay!

Another wonderful stay at Prong pond
Our third stay at Prong Pond. Great time paddling on the pond with the kids using the canoe and kayak. Did some nearby excursions to Little Mouse mountain,
Number 4 mountain, and Spencer bay. Cottage was clean and comfortable. The upgraded couch and addition of a Keurig coffee maker was greatly appreciated.

Prong Pond getaway
All as advertised a great quiet location not that far from town. There is a boat ramp a few miles away so you can launch a small boat and dock it at the cabin dock.

Wonderful pond stay!
We loved our stay! Everything was clean and easy to find. The outdoor seating is great and we loved the deck and picnic table by the big rock out front. Having a canoe and kayak was a fun addition. The town of Greenville is adorable and friendly. Highly recommend this town and this house. Our family of 6 fit perfectly and enjoyed playing games at the large table! Thanks for a great place in the beautiful state of Maine!

Really Nice Cabin -- Great Lake for Canoeing!
Very clean, modern, comfortable cabin -- beautiful "finished" log design with large windows. Lovely covered porch with just a slight view of the water down the hill. Downhill walk to the dock in a secluded little cove. Note that there are quite a few (mostly easy) steps from the parking lot to the front door -- and maybe 100' walk to the dock. On-site manager Mike was helpful and friendly. Neighboring cabin just 50' away, but screened and no bother at all. Prong Pond is a super lake for canoeing or kayaking -- lots of undisturbed shoreline -- loved it. Property is way off of main road, but easy to get into Greenville for supplies, etc.

This property is so peaceful and being right near the water was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend it. We had a wonderful stay.

Just what we were looking for
Clean cabin, could use some more basic utensils for kitchen. Neighbor's cabin was close but people were quiet and friendly. Location was amazing and beautiful. Would revisit in the future!

Heavenly
The cabin was fully stocked with equipment and very clean. The location could not have been better. Only complaint next cabin close by with EXTREMELY noisy children, which were addressed by the property manager and maintenance man. Mike the maintenance man was a wonderful assest for any needs.

Maine Stay
We had one of the best family vacation ever. Maine is gorgeous.

Wonderful off-the-grid family vacation
We were incredibly happy with our recent stay in the Prong Mountain cabin. It was exactly as described...only better! Upon arrival, we all remarked (including our children, ages 9 and 11) that the pictures don't do it justice. The cabin was exceptionally clean - a must during the current pandemic - and we made daily use of the kayak. The pond itself is large, clean, and quiet, and peppered with small islands that are great for picnics. We were thrilled to have no internet or phone access and while there is a television available, it was never turned on for the duration of our stay. We highly recommend Lily Bay State Park for swimming/playground and hiking Mount Kineo. We were thrilled to see a couple of moose on our nightly moose-sighting expeditions and loved waking up and falling asleep to the calls of the loons. Birch Overlook was occupied during our stay and we were grateful to have such lovely "neighbors." We could see how it would be less than ideal if the "neighbors" were not so great, as the other cabin is close and the path down to the water is partially shared; but again, we were lucky that our neighbors added to (rather than retracted from) our wonderful experience.
