The location was perfect for us, only an 8 minute drive from our friends house in the Woodlands. The neighborhood itself was very quiet and peaceful. The house is nice, but could definitely use some improvements. Overall, the house was clean but the carpet was old and dirty, and there were some dead bugs on the stairs, which made me wonder if the cleaning crew even vacuumed them. I had to wash the dishes and silverware because they didn't look very clean. Speaking of the kitchen..... there were definitely some things to be desired (pot holders, toaster, tea kettle, ice cube trays) but we only ate breakfasts there so we made due. We parked our car in the garage, but the smell in there was horrendous! The trash can had been sitting in there for who knows how long, so we drug it out and put it on the side of the house, which helped immensely. We weren't told when trash day was, but we came back one night to see all the neighbors with their trash and recycle cans in the curb, so we put both cans out. Early in our stay, my son had taken a shower in the upstairs hall bath and afterwards went down into the kitchen to grab something to drink. He heard a splatting sound, and noticed water leaking from the ceiling and hitting the kitchen floor. He cleaned up the water and put a trash can underneath the leaking area and then found that the shower was leaking into the tile and then down into the ceiling. I contacted the property owner and she was very prompt in her reply. She had a maintenence guy there within a few hours and then he came back the next day to do the repairs, which worked out perfectly because we were gone all day at the Space Center.
On our last night there, we were all exhausted and ready to crawl into bed, but instead, a big, nasty 4 inch long cockroach came crawling out of the twin bedroom where my son was sleeping. To say I was horrified is a gross understatement! Granted, I'm not from Texas or any other place that boasts very large bugs, so this may just be a thing that is expected and normal for the area? I also did not realize that they fly, so that was fun. We eventually found a vacuum cleaner and sucked it up. I had read in one of the previous reviews about a cockroach in the shower, so I was a little worried and hesitant to book the property. Maybe some pest control is needed or maybe this is just a normal thing?
Overall, we had a good stay and the house served the purpose we needed it for.

Pros & Cons
This was a great stay for my birthday trip! As with any rental, there are pros and cons:
Pros:
- The host is very kind and provides quick communication.
- The home is located in a safe neighborhood, and it is a prime location with many amenities nearby.
- It is decorated well and very inviting.
- There’s plenty of room for people to move about in the home if you’re traveling with a group. My group of 6 didn’t feel cramped at all.
- The bed was soooo comfortable!
- We had plenty of towels for our group.
Cons:
- When we first arrived, the air was set to the “off” mode. So it was stuffy and VERY hot (85 was the internal temp). It took several hours for the home to cool down, but we didn’t have any further issues after we finally got it regulated. However, it just would have been nice to walk into a cool home after hours of traveling.
- Water was added to the soap in the bathrooms so we really didn’t have “soap” to wash our hands. Also there wasn’t extra toilet tissue available in all the bathrooms, so the downstairs bathroom ran out and we had to share.
- The home seem clean for the most part; however, the floors downstairs were sticky, my friend had a cockroach crawling on the shower head while she was bathing which grossed her out pretty bad, and another friend had a long hair in her bed when she pulled back the covers. We also had to kill a wasp in the living room within the first hour of us being there.
- There was an iron but we couldn’t find an ironing board, so we had to iron on one of the tables.
- There are not curtains in the bedrooms (only blinds), so sleeping in is impossible (at least in the master bedroom) because the sun is beaming in by 6:30am.
- The garage is small. We had two vehicles; and one side couldn’t be even be used because there were two garbage bins and a disconnected washer and dryer taking up the space. I have a sedan and it was super tight, so I’m not sure a large SUV would fit. Also, we just decided to park in the driveway because it was a pain to get in and out of the garage when there’s no code or opener to open it from the outside when you’re pulling up.
Overall it was a good stay! I wanted to give 5 stars, but I had to be honest in my review. I know some things (like the size of the garage cannot be changed). However, I hope the host takes some of the minor issues/inconveniences we had into consideration. We do thank you for being a good host and opening your home to us though!

My new Go To in the Woodlands
This is my new favorite place! We stayed 3 nights. First of all, the entire place was immaculately clean! This home is in a very quiet and safe location with a garage. My husband and I both slept like babies. It is within a 2 miles drive of some of my favorite stores like Starbucks, Trader Joe’s and a Kroger. The kitchen is perfect on nights you want to stay in. Highly Recommend checking this out if you need a place to stay. The Host is so easy to work with, a great communicator and very nice. We will definitely be back!
