Great place for my first night in Guatemala. Very kind and helpful staff.

This hotel is in Zona uno which a lovely and very lively historic district in Guatemala City. The hotel is in a safe area, within walking distance to the restaurants & shops on the Sexta Avenida. The hotel is clean and a well maintained historic property with many beautiful furnishings and antiques.
Our double bed room was right on the main street and very noisy with street traffic right beneath the window. And as you know Guate is a city that goes to bed very late.I asked to move to a room at the back of the property but there was none available. Although the staff was very helpful the breakfast that was served was lacking. The serving portions were small and I expected the breakfast that would be served would have more variety and flavor. There are also no fans in the rooms and because of the street noise it was difficult to sleep with the windows open.

The staff was extremely accommodating to my mother who is 76yo. The location is great and so is the breakfast, I would stay there if I needed a hotel in Guatemala

Location, cleanliness, secure. Sophie and staff did the extra to ensure a memorable stay. I had a tour cancelled by provider and Sophie stepped up and found a replacement. I’m sure it was no small feat since a long weekend with added demand.

Beautiful old house with amazing furniture and paintings. Feels almost like you stay in a little museum. Sophie and Jessica were very nice and helpful. We felt safe at this location and it's just a short walk to the pedestrian road. We could change the room from a street side to the courtyard side room. Was very quiet at night. Great place to stay in the city.

A charming property in a wonderful location with fantastic staff!
Sophie & Raul were utterly brilliant, from the complementary airport pick up to pointing out the different areas and history of the city. The recommendations provided exceeded expectations and the communication pre-arrival was the best I have ever received.
I truly wish I could have stayed longer yet my itinerary did not allow it (on this occasion!) I hope to be back and highly recommend to all!!!

It's a really beutiful place well located. The breakfast was pretty good
We needed to stay a bit longer for work (about an hour or so) and they wanted to charge us for that even when we had already emptied the room and wanted to stay at common areas. Finally they aloud us to stay for free

Lovely restored Casa with beautiful hall, sitting room, breakfast room and courtyard garden for guests. Very helpful and accomodating hosts. Very comfortable bed and our room was immaculately clean.
A very minor point - there was a covered cable crossing the bedroom which was easy to trip on.

The house was beautiful and clean
The tub was dangerous and he beds in the 2nd room were uncomfortable and noisy.

Jessica and Sophie we're great. They helped us with everything and gave us a lot of information about excursions. Charming B&B with a nice garden in the middle of the city.
The shower and internet connection in the room good be better.

The property was charming, as was their hospitality. While you're only about 5 minutes from La Sexta avenue, I actually enjoyed staying in the room and on the patio. The property itself was my favorite part of Guatemala City.

Everything at the Casa Carmel was lovely. Raul and Sophie were the most incredible hosts! Raul came to collect us from the airport even though our flight came in past midnight. He even took the time to show us some of the historic buildings downtown after we expressed interest in architecture! After a delightful breakfast, Sophie checked in on us and gave us lots of helpful tips that proved useful over our whole trip.
The mattresses are a bit firm, but honestly it was the quietest and best night of sleep we had our whole time in Guatemala!

This hotel is located very centrally, just couple of blocks away from the main pedestrian district and the central park, still it’s very peaceful and calm. It’s beautifully decorated, the house itself is so charming still keeping the original floor tiles and wooden ceilings. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Sophie was so nice to assist with my questions, and show flexibility for me to stay an extra night. Would definitely recommend to all.

We loved everything about our stay. Sophie was super nice and helpful. Our bed was very comfortable and we had a clean private bathroom. The breakfast was nice as well!

Thé property was beautiful, a real gem with exquisite details and a most beautiful interior courtyard. The owner took my friend to a clinic when she injured herself, stayed and translated for the doctor, stayed during the x-rays, helped us get crutches, and made it possible for us to continue our stay. She took us to the neighborhood pharmacy to fill the prescription. She contacted our ongoing transportation at the end of our stay. Her restaurant recommendation helped us enjoy the most authentic Mayan food of our entire trip. Rosa cooked us a great homemade and fresh breakfast each day which we enjoyed in the dining room facing the lovely courtyard.
This was an unexpected way to confirm the beauty of the place and the most sincere care of any host I have ever known.
I can’t think of anything that could have been better

We stayed two nights and days in this beautiful monumental B&B in zone 1 within walking distance of the most important sights that can be reached via a busy pedestrian promenade. Excellent breakfast and a shuttle service from or to the airport including a small sightseeing tour. Excellent mattress and English-speaking owner. Enjoyed two evenings on the terrace of the delightful and quiet city garden. We are happy that we have added Guatemala City to our Guatemala tour, highly recommended.

The feeling of the building and the location. I was picked up from the airport and learned a lot from the owner. Rosa who works there is very kind. All in all a very good experience .
I liked everything...
