You won't want to leave the house, but if you do, we're only a few minutes from Homosassa's must-see attractions, from our beloved manatees in the springs to local favorites like The Freezer, Crumps, and Florida Cracker.
When you drive through the oversized white gates to our community, you'll be just a short minute from launching your boat into the water and docking it behind our house. Ahead By A Century is located on one of the best deep water canals, with quick access to the Homosassa River and only 5 minutes away from some of the area's top destinations or a mere 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico.
Kayaking, fishing, and wildlife watching are just some of the many outdoor activities available. Watch the mermaids perform at Weeki Wachee or explore the beautiful Crystal River and Homosassa Springhead, home to manatees. For scuba enthusiasts, there's also great scuba diving in the area, with amazing grouper, snapper, cobia, hogfish, and more waiting to be discovered.
If you're looking for a break from the outdoors, you'll find plenty of delicious dining options nearby. Uber Eats, and Door Dash deliver to the area, and some of the best restaurants are just around the corner. Across the street from our favorite restaurant, Nautitime, is just a 10-minute walk from our door. Enjoy dishes like their famous peel-and-eat shrimp or wings. This 2150 sq ft home is the perfect base for your Homosassa adventure. With a boat ramp just 100 yards away and an oversized dock, you'll have everything you need for a great fishing trip. And you won't have to worry about making daily ice runs, as there's a commercial ice machine in the garage for your convenience. On-site trailer parking is available, and with a two-car garage and long driveway, parking won't be a problem.
ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATIONS:
Every three spacious bedrooms feature a king bed, ample closet space, and a USB lamp for convenience. The master bedroom has a large ensuite bath with a tub and steam shower, and there's a full bath (shower/tub combo) with two sinks on the main floor. Additionally, a half bath on the main level is also available. The main floor also has a queen sleeper sofa and two twin sleeper club chairs, ensuring plenty of room for your family to spread out and relax. Smart TVs can be found in the master bedroom and main living room, and there's a full-sized washer and dryer on the main level.
Outside, you'll find three different patios, including a spacious balcony off the master bedroom. Fire up the new natural gas Weber grill to cook your daily catch, or enjoy your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the deep water canal. This rental was the best stocked I’ve ever stayed at! Coffee, laundry, paper products, kitchen bags….
Awesome! We had a glitch with the ice maker but had a prompt response on how to deal with it. The beds were comfortable. The home was clean and the kitchen had everything you could ask for. The golf cart was great for local travel. The boat launch was close. Thank you Catherine.

We stayed here for the start of scallop season. We have a 28' boat and I will say that's likely the max size you want to bring; we were sticking out the back of the slip but not so much other boats couldn't navigate around. That and the neighborhood / ramp would make it hard if your boat was larger.
The house was well equipped, spacious, clean, with several modern amenities (electric curtains, steam shower, ice machine). Overall 10/10 would rebook (and probably will!)

The house was great! Spacious enough for all eight of us! Kitchen well stocked. Boat slip and canal was convenient and easy to navigate. The golf cart and kayak added to the fun. Catherine was great, checking on us by text to see if all was well or if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

We have had the opportunity to stay in many short-term rentals; some good, some not so good. This home is hands down one of the nicest we have had the pleasure of renting. Perfect location on a canal just a few hundred feet from the main river and maybe a 10-minute ride to the springs to the left, and a 20-minute ride to the Gulf to the right. Also, just a few minutes from several nice restaurants on the river. I loved that this home was located in a nice, gated community and that a 6-person golf cart was included with the stay. We chose to use that to get to the local eateries. This home was very clean and well stocked. There were so many small touches such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash in both bathrooms, a well-stocked and supplied kitchen, and indoor and outdoor games. The bedroom we used was the first one on the left after you get to the top of the stairs and let me tell you, I slept so well in that bed! The owner manages the rental, and she is excellent about communicating all of the Infromation you will need for your stay. I would rate this one 10/10 and am looking ar re-booking.

Property was under light construction, didn't impede on our weekend at all!! Home was beautiful and so many touches of home! The owners were always available for questions or directions as needed. Boat ramp is convenient and the slip is super accessible. Location is excellent. I can't wait to go back!

This house was in a perfect location very nicely decorated and was perfect for 6 people . I loved the king beds in each room. They provided all the amenities you could need. The best part was the golf cart to use. It made it so convenient to get to the local places. We will definitely be staying here again.

What a Wonderful Place to Stay! As we prepared for our intimate wedding ceremony in Homosassa!!! The accommodations were very comfortable and everything that we needed was there! One of my favorite amenities there is the Mr. Mister in the bathroom shower! I felt like I had my own private spa before the wedding. We had fun on the golf cart that was provided! The full length mirror was perfect to see all angles of my dress! I made a smoothie for breakfast and we grilled steaks one night. The kitchen was well stocked. And, yes, there was a Keurig coffee maker. I wished we would have had time to bring our boat as you can dock it at slip #12. There is room for the boat trailer too!
Even though we will have our own place soon in Homosassa, we will definitely stay here again until our house is built!

Ice Crest in garage to fill coolers.
Keurig in master bedroom so you dont have to sneak passed guest sleeping on pull out couch. Master also has its own balcony and a steam shower.

Everything about this property was great! Location was close to local restaurants, the included golf cart made for easy parking. We were able to launch our boat right there! House was very comfortable, had everything you would need. I was very impressed. Check in was easy, house was clean, host communication was on point. Will definitely book again. House was just as advertised. Golf cart was a plus, for driving down to The freezer, or the Monkey Bar, or just down to the pool. House has everything you need there. Set up perfect. We had a great weekend. Would definitely book again when in homosassa!

We had such a great stay at the River House! We were in Homasassa for a long scalloping weekend with friends and family. Perfection! The house is so well equipped, clean, in the perfect location, etc! We loved having the community boat ramp, our own secure dock, and community pool. The location is great for getting out onto the Gulf for scalloping and then heading up river to cool off in the Springs. We picked up some fish dip at the Fish Market, had appetizers at Crumps, and got some ice cream at the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar. We throughly enjoyed Homasassa . Fun little Old Florida Fishing Village. Our host Catherine was super responsive, but everything in the house was great, so other than letting them know we were having a fantastic time, we did not need any help from our hosts. The check in and check out was super easy. The informational house book that Catherine has put together is amazing. And it was downloadable as an app on our phone. It had everything we needed to know about the house, the surrounding area, recommendations, and suggestions. It was incredible. Thanks for everything and we can’t wait to come back !

From the coffee bar with sugar sticks, smores kit, golf cart, ice machine, toiletries, everything! If by chance you forget something, no worries the house is stocked for your every need! We very much enjoyed our stay at this home in a gated community. We brought our boat and were able to launch it and had access to a private boat slip. The property is central to everything in Homosassa and we enjoyed the springs, restaurants, and the river. Highly recommend.

We had a busy schedule when we were visiting Florida and every time we came back to this home we cherished the peace and European ambiance. One day when on the 2nd story porch we saw a manatee in the canal! Additionally, when taking a walk along the boardwalk we think we saw a stingray!

Property was as listed. Everything was as planned. Conveniently Located next to the next boat launch. Docked steps from the back door. Clean and comfortable. Multiple pull outs for addition sleeping. There were 6 of us (all guys) and had plenty of space.

The space is expansive with plenty of room and all the supplies you need. Additionally they've thought of a bunch of little things to make a stay even more enjoyable.
We took our 24' bay boat and the slip is within sight of the private launch and steps from the house. No issues navigating the canal or river at any tide.
Catherine & Grant were excellent hosts. They were very communicative, and when a minor issue arose outside of their control they addressed it immediately and followed up to make sure all was well. They provide a digital guide book with restaurant recommendations and answers to most any question about the house, community and area that you can think of.

We stayed in the house for 10 days over the holidays. The house had good space, was clean, and very well stocked. The house is on a canal right off the river so very good for boaters. It's also very close to old Homosassa and to the larger business district.

LOve the back porch in the morning til the sun comes up. Ac works great. The ice machine in the garage was the BOMB. we never bought ice the whole trip. Well stocked kitchen. The addition of the laundry supplies and cleaning supplies was unexpected and great !! tissues and 2 ply was a hit. Only issue was the hot water. we all seemed to only be able to take a 3 mins shower before it went cold and that was after the first day when we discovered the hot and cod water were reversed. crazy !! Over all we would stay there again it was the right location for us and our group.

So much more than Scalloping
A big thank you to Catherine for quickly responding to all of my inquiries, it made getting settled in easy.
This townhouse is a gem. The convenience of being able to drop the boat in the water just steps from its boat slip and then park the boat trailer all within feet of the back door exceeded our expectations.
We were a party of 5, enjoying the kick off to Scalloping Season as well as a family summer vacation with son and grandkids. The townhome offered plenty of room for us all to be able to relax and watch TV after a full day on the water as well as an amazing grill right outside the back door on the covered patio, which we used every night.
The bedrooms/baths all spacious and the beds super comfy there’s even a bonus balcony off the master suite which provided a nice quiet space to enjoy Morning coffee overlooking the water.
This kitchen is so well stocked, it’s a shame I’m not a better cook, lol, could easily host a dinner for 12.
Two additional conveniences are the washer and dryer with the products right at your fingertips but the creme de la creme is the commercial grade ice maker in the garage, a total game changer for getting set up for a day on the water.
This property gets the thumbs up in our book, so much so, we’ve already booked our return visit for next year.

Fisherman’s paradise
This house had everything we needed for our family of 6 to enjoy a long weekend. The house was well equipped and even had a large ice machine in the garage which saved countless trips to the store and was super convenient.
We appreciated the extra parking and ease launching the boat just feet from the dock. We hopped on the boat and were in the river in under two minutes.
The grill was perfect and we were grateful not to have to worry about half empty tanks with a direct gas line.
The house was very clean and Catherine was very helpful with instructions and questions.
We highly recommend Nauti time restaurant which is just across the street from the community.
