About this house rental

Why is this the perfect Cape house? First of all, the location is ideal. The house is at the end of a dead-end street 0.2 miles to the beach, walkable in 5 minutes or even quicker on a bike. No worries about driving, parking, or sand in your car. It's in the New Silver Beach neighborhood, where neighbors know each other, kids play on the street, and the beach association provides life guards, swim lessons, and movies at the tennis court on Sunday nights. There is also a neighborhood snack shack called the Tea Room where you can stop in for an ice cream or cold drink or send your kids in with spare change for candy. The Tea Room is across the street from the association tennis courts and playground, on the shore of beautiful Wild Harbor.
The second reason why this is the perfect beach house is the layout of the house itself. It's perfectly suited for 2 families with kids, and we've had 3 families there on many occasions. The main house (1650 square feet) has 3 bedrooms and a full bath all on one level. There is a large family room with a flat screen TV and a dining room with seating for 8. There is also a small table and stools for 4 in the kitchen. Got a crowd? There is a brand new half bath in the basement. Go outside and across the deck to the loft, which is a room above the garage that can sleep 4 more on a queen bed and a pull out couch. There is also a half bath here, making it the perfect situation for one family and a great place for napping kids. Please note that there is no heat in the loft, so for rentals from October to April, the house capacity is 6 in the main house only.
The house is situated on a double lot, at the end of the street, backed up to a large marsh. We love the privacy this gives us and the larger-than-usual backyard. When the sun starts setting, we love to sit on the deck and watch the birds come to roost in the marsh - sometimes they come one-by-one, and other times in a huge flock. We have bird books and binoculars for viewing. Underneath the deck is a completely private outdoor shower - come back from the beach, stash your gear in the garage, and take a shower before even coming into the house. Both kids and adults in our family love our outdoor shower and many prefer it to showering inside.
Other features include a gas grill, central air in the main house and a wall AC in the loft, multiple washers and dryers, wifi, cable TV, and a stocked kitchen with a lobster pot, slow cooker, and new Ninja blender. BRAND NEW items include glassware, kitchen tools, outdoor plates and cups, all towels, all linens, and all beach towels. In the garage, there is a kayak, paddle, and life jackets, beach toys, and beach chairs.
The house is 20 minutes from the Bourne Bridge, 20 minutes to downtown Falmouth, and 15 minutes from the restaurants and shops at Mashpee Commons. North Falmouth itself has great restaurants for food delivery or sit down service and a great liquor store.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at a great house that was close to the beach and any concerns we had were quickly addressed by our hosts. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family, and anyone looking for a great family Cape Cod vacation.

Exceeded our high expectations. Perfect large beach cottage. Close to beach and equipped with everything you might need from paddle boards, kayak, pails and shovels for toddlers and even a large beach ball. Quiet and peaceful for sleeping and relaxing. The deck and yard are perfect for family meals or play. Host was very communicative and helpful. All generations loved it.

Great location! A short walk to the beach and a beautiful marsh view in the backyard. Comfy & clean beds! The house has a cute old cape cod style that’s very welcoming. A cozy living room that’s perfect to curl up and read a book in. Host is a good communicator which is much appreciated. Beach accessories are provided from towels and chairs to boogie boards and a kayak! We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at this wonderful listing over the 4th. We had 11 total staying (6 adults and 5 kids) and the home never felt tight. A nice yard in the back along with a quick walk to a wonderful beachfront. Utter perfection.

This house hit it out of the park for us, our son and daughter-in-law and grandkids, ages 10 and 13. The loft just steps from the main house via a very cool bridge was the perfect respite for my wife and I, with AC, a half bath, queen bed and small private deck for some coffee and reading overlooking the marsh. This left the main house for the rest of our tribe. There are two other bathrooms in the house but most of us enjoyed using the big outdoor shower. The kitchen is not huge and a little tight but very well equipped as is the rest of the house. We cooked in every night and ate out on the newly resurfaced deck. The Weber grill got a good workout. The owners even had spare LP tanks which we did not need but it was a comfort. We had no mosquitoes which was great. We brought some wood and made a fire in the fire pit most nights which we all enjoyed. The beach is 600 steps and an easy walk through almost empty streets. There’s plenty of beach chairs and a wagon to get them there. There’s a great sandbar a few feet from shore that acts like a giant swimming pool with calm water and plenty of room to play. North Falmouth is a quiet area as opposed to Yarmouth where I grew up. We were able to visit Martha’s Vineyard, Plimoth Plantation and go Party boat fishing with short drives. The owners pride in their house contributed to a fantastic and memorable family vacation. Mark and Nancy from Maine
