I stayed at this cabin-like private residence on the river with two brothers (25&26) for a disc golf trip to the Milo McIver course roughly 45 minutes away. Very close to Mt Hood. Hot tub, board games, fully equipped kitchen were excellent features. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend!

This property has everything to make it feel like a home away from home. If we stay in the Mt. Hood area again, this property would definitely be our first pick.

Right off the highway but quite in a very quaint 'campy' neighborhood. Kitchen and baths well appointed with everything you'd need. Loved the ten second walk to the river and another minute to a place you can walk down where there is a deeper area to swim. But beware, it is cold water! I'd recommend swimming in the Salmon River at the Wildwood Recreation Area, only a five minute drive and a small car fee to enter and explore.

Everything about the home was as advertised. Access was easy and the home was large, comfortable, and clean. There were plenty of towels and extra blankets. The river was beautiful to have out back. We had easy access to many great hiking trails. And we made use of the hot tub! Would’ve loved a little book of hiking and dining recommendations. If it had been a little warmer we would’ve wanted more/nicer outdoor furniture for lounging on the porch. And some of the indoor furniture could be a bit smaller to better fit room sizes. But we’d would absolutely stay here again.

We really appreciated the good mattresses and showerheads at this place, along with the nice towels and linens, the well-stocked kitchen, and the clean hot tub. The downstairs has a more rustic/funky vibe than indicated in the photos, starting with the front door and ski-lodge type entrance, which we weren't expecting. We groped around a little bit trying to figure out how to operate the heat: it's a split ductless heat pump above the sliding glass door in the living room, operated by the white remote. Worked well once we figured that out. The wall heater near the dining room seems to be defunct. Things to know: even though the place is at the end of the road and thus would seemingly be very private, it's not really, as there's a path along the river in clear sight of the living room that's open to the public, and a trail from the parking area down to the river, mostly used by locals to walk their dogs. (And a big gouged out trench by the parking; what's up with that?) And there are no window coverings in the kitchen and living room other than on the sliding glass door. Also good to know is that the last quarter mile or so is a dirt/gravel road than is quite bumpy and puddled in places, nothing a passenger car can't handle but take it slow. There's a nice swimming hole just downstream on the river trail. The verdant views from the house, along with the birdsong and river sounds audible from the back bedroom (with queen bed), make the cabin a nice retreat from the madding world.

We loved the location, how quiet it was, and hearing the river from the cabin. The path along the river was great for morning walks and the deck was wonderful for gathering.

Spacious, well maintained, well equipped and private location.
The location is adjacent to the Zig Zag River and has an open area with a fire pit and horse shoe game stakes.
The home is spacious and has plenty of seating, dining table for up to eight people, clean bathrooms and bedrooms. One queen bed has a very high frame, (the mattress is 34 inches off the floor), so be prepared to "climb" into bed!
The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, cooking pans, utencils, a four slice toaster, a Kitchen Aid mixer, a pod coffee maker (bring your own pods), side-by-side fridge/freezer with ice maker, five burner stove top, a microwave and two ovens. We enjoyed using the barbecue set on the deck for one of our meals.
The communication with management was excellent! Very helpful.
There is a shower in each bathroom, (no tub). A laundry washer and dryer.
Lots of board games and movies.

This cabin retreat was amazing. The cabin felt secluded at the end of the road, and we woke up to soft sounds of the river and enjoyed soaking in the sunlight on the patio overlooked by forest. The hot tub had a broken spout that created an annoying splash in the tub, hopefully they'll fix that for the next people, but the soak was still nice surrounded by forest. The wifi was good, but we ran into bandwith problems when we had to run simultaneous zoom meetings (once we changed to one-at-a-time it was ok). Kitchen was nicely stocked with cooking gear and the outdoor grill worked great. Overall we'd love to stay here again, and we'd highly reccomend visiting to relax, unplug, and enjoy nature.

This home was the perfect amount of rustic feeling but had all the comfort amenities also. It was a lovely stay and I just might be back some day!

The property was wonderful. Nice view of the river. The cabin was perfect for a family weekend. Having a big table for eating and playing board games was a plus. Two bathrooms made it easy to get ready for the day and ready for bed.

Home was beautiful and clean. The kitchen was wonderful. High end cookware and appliances and really sharp knives. Made bread, cookies, soup in the slow cooker. The fireplace was great and kept the place warm. Plenty of wood was available. The middle room has a half wall open so it does get very warm and somewhat smoky. But was still very nice. Beds were comfy. Really appreciated the comfy chairs and having an ottoman in the living room. People did tend to park near the house and walk past it to the river, but it wasn't too bothersome. View and sound of river from upstairs was lovely. I would recommend some grip strips on ramp and deck stairs for safety. Would book again.

Feels remote but not far off the main road. Hot tub was lovely, fire pit was enjoyable. Great, clean and easy to walk by the river.

We choose this home based on the location and nearness to Mt. Hood where our daughter was at snowboard camp. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, by the zigzag river, and had a hot tub to enjoy after a day out exploring.
The house is cabin-like and being in the woods comes with more earthy and damp smells of nature. We spent most of the day time out exploring. The kitchen was equipped so that our family could cook and grill easily with all essential items and more.

We didn’t want to leave this home! Everything was very comfortable, clean, close to many hikes and restaurants, and best of all right in the river.

Very nice property. Great location and private. Property abuts Zig Zag River. Easy access and convenient to hiking, restaurants, stores, etc. A few issues, such as lack of information provided at property about heating, appliances, etc. Also, some plumbing issues with drainage in one of the showers. Not happy about all the fees tacked on by Vacasa/VRBO. They are pretty substantial. However, would probably stay there again.

We had to cancel 2 weeks prior to our stay due to our 13 year old daughter being in an accident. I explained everything to Vacasa and pleaded for understanding and a refund. They fully refused. I get they are a business but a good business would look at cancellations individually and decide that some in emergency circumstances deserve compassion and give a refund. I even asked for a refund just for the cleaning fee and hot tub fee since no one was going to stay there the week of our reservation and no one ever responded. I think ethically this company should have refunded me and it looks bad on them.

Lovely house, very private, very clean & nice, plenty of room for just the 2 of us. Lots of bedding & towels (good quality), very nice kitchen. Convenient for some very nice hikes in Mt. Hood National Forest. My quibbles are very 1st world & thus the 4 stars instead of 5. 1st of all my issue is with virtually all vrbo listings, please just tell us the real cost up front & directly. I hate it when you think, oh, that's a reasonable price & then all the added fees make it twice the original price. I am fine the size of the cleaning fee as it's a big house & if all the beds had needed to be changed that would be a big job, & I just always hope the people actually doing the work are getting the actual $. Then when I am asked to pay that kind of cleaning fee, I'm still supposed to start the laundry for them? Mostly at this place I resent there is a hot tub fee but the point is, it's not optional so really, it's not a fee, it should just be incorporated into the price of the house. Just be honest folks. 2nd quibble is that there was no information binder telling us things like how the heat worked (took us until the next morning to figure that out) or give ideas about local hikes & such. We always appreciate that kind of information/recommendations. Another source would have been a guest book but there wasn't one of those. Then it turned out that some of the information was in a link they sent us on the day we checked in that merely said "review your trip" not, hey, here's helpful information for your stay, so we hadn't clicked on the link b/c we had the enter code & directions (though our GPS didn't recognize the address but Google maps did) so we didn't feel we needed to "review" anything. Again, all 1st world quibbles & not a reason to deter you from booking this beautiful place. It's peaceful & comfortable, plenty of room for a crowd & very clean. We loved Mt. Hood National Forest.

The views were amazing but whenever we cooked in the kitchen the smoke alarm went off and we had all the windows open. We could not build a fire in the campfire area due to fire season but were never told about this. Lastly mid stay a board fell from the ceiling onto my husbands head giving him a concussion. Then we were afraid the rest of the stay that more boards would fall down. Vacasa only refunded 100 dollars of our total trip. Also the bedrooms are not very private.

Easy booking, home was clean, sleeping arrangements accommodate our family very nice. Great to have a grill, and hot tub. Kids had fun watching the salmon jumping out of the river and a few bald eagles. Wish the kitchen had a few spices other than that kitchen had everything you would need.

Wifi info was a bit confusing, but we got the straighten out quickly. Over all the only thing to say is our time was to short and wished we booked for another night.
Kitchen and baths are decked out to the nines and very enjoyable. Bedrooms , beds and bedding very nice and clean.
Space of the cabin is spacious and comfy. Views from inside looking out is beautiful.
Setting is wonderful.

I was a little weary going into this rental. However, we were beyond thrilled and super excited once we actually arrived. First and foremost, the place is impeccably clean. Second, as someone else had mentioned, the kitchen is stocked as your home kitchen - blender, toaster, waffle maker, fondue set, processor, high end pots and pans (which made cooking a joy), kitchen aid stove. We didn’t eat out a single day. They’re is a beautiful river/creek behind the house and the sound of the flowing water at night is soothing.
I couldn’t figure out how to use the fireplace so I’d definitely ask about that ahead of time. The place also doesn’t have AC but they do have fans in the bedrooms. There are also ants but I think that’s to be expected when renting a cabin in a forest! Management was good about responding to questions.
There were a TON of towels, beds, extra blankets, etc. The beds, blankets and comforters were so comfy. We honestly didn’t want to leave.

The house is relatively new. Newly renovated, I think. Situated in a quiet place, looking over the river - we loved to hear the river sound. Outdoor area, jacuzzi, spacious kitchen & dining area, everything very good! We would like to come back!

Fantastic
A wonderful place. It's the last house at the end of the road to the river. It's super quiet that all you hear is the river. In the kitchen it's a high end kitchenware. They have more and better stuffs in the kitchen than I have at home. Would definitely go back!
