This property is one of the better homes I have rented! It was great for my family of 8 including a 15 month old. The home inside is gorgeous. You feel like you are in a cruise ship with all the windows facing the lake! We loved the open plan. It would have been nice to have ceiling fans although floor fans were provided, thank you! They would be a great upgrade to bedrooms as it was a humid and hot week. We especially loved the dock and the kitchen was furnished with great appliances and never seen before excellent cooking pans, utensils and cutlery which is a pep-peeve of mine as I rent 1/2 dozen rentals a year and most are terrible in this area.

This house is located as close as possible to the water as can be with incredible views and privacy. The dock is right next to the house - you can’t beat this type of ease to jumping into the lake. Kristin was an incredible host. Her responsiveness went way beyond what could be expected- she texted us directly for absolutely everything. The house is clean, cozy and perfect for a group of all ages. Highly recommend this spot for a group trip with family and friends!

What a wonderful house on a lovely lake! My family spent a hot and muggy week on the eastern side of Lake Damariscotta and boy did we enjoy it. We were in the water all the time. The water was the perfect temperature, warm enough not to shock you but cool enough to bring your body heat down. The house has AC and it was on all week; thank goodness for it. On the one night we could sleep with the windows open we could hear the loons croon, always a delight.
The house has everything you need. Well-kitted kitchen, good grill, plenty of beach towels and comfy linens, a large TV for when sports/movies need to be watched. The house feels like it is ON the water, that's how close it is to the shore. There are two canoes to use, and we brought or SUPs as well; the mornings are the perfect time to paddle on the glassy water. Sunsets don't disappoint!
You park at a higher level than the house so there are stairs to descend to get to it, so be prepared to lug your stuff a ways to get there and back. Also to get to the dock there is a slope down as well. My uncle uses two canes to walk so he was tentative but made it fine.
Make sure to bring beach chairs to sit in on the dock (and bring them up to the house at night so the wind doesn't unexpectantly take them) as the ones up on the deck at the house are heavy to move. We used the solo stove one night but it was too hot to use it other nights. Works great, though.
Would definitely return!

We stayed at this lovely home for about a week and had the best time! The location is perfect, and the views of the lake are unmatched. Every night in the summer, the sun sets directly across the lake from the house, offering the most spectacular sunsets. The homeowner is also super friendly and attentive. We hope to be able to stay here again if our travels bring us back up to Damariscotta Lake next year!

We stayed a week with my two children and husband. The location is incredibly private and peaceful. My kids practiced their cannonball and diving skills off the dock. We paddle boarded, kayaked and fell asleep soundly at night to the sounds of the lapping water and the loons. A truly fantastic lake vacation.

The property was very well maintained, and as advertised and then some. Every amenity you would need in your own home. Linens, towels, beds and pillows were all high quality. There was no convenience overlooked. The house and view are absolutely breathtaking. The only issue we had was the access to the lake (down to the dock) was a little difficult for some of our older family members, but that is of no fault of the owners, just the terrain. 5 out of 5 stars. Owners were extremely responsive to a few minor issues we had, but they were resolved immediately! Gorgeous home, will definitely rent again!

This house was peaceful and well-appointed with amazing lake views. My husband and I loved drinking our coffee on the dock each morning and watching the sunsets from the dock each night. We even took the canoe out a few times, but check the weather forecast before you go--it can get windy! We cooked most meals at the house, finding everything we needed in the kitchen. House had all modern conveniences, including microwave, fridge with ice maker, washer and dryer, TV, gas grill, etc. Very nice touches such as beach towels, puzzles, and board games. The only problem we ran into was with the AC units. We couldn't get them to work at first, but the owner responded right away, and sent over their maintenance person, who got them up and running. All in all, a fantastic week on the lake! Definitely recommend this place!

This was our second year in a row at this gorgeous lake cottage and it felt like coming home!! The views are incredible! Everything about this place exudes taste, quality and comfort! The host/hostess are immediately responsive to any and all inquiries and their desire to make you comfortable is unmatched by any other VRBO we have ever stayed in! Breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, sounds of the loons, ability to Instacart groceries (!) - it’s all here! Can’t wait to come back!!

From the moment we arrived at this idyllic lakeside gem on Lake Damariscotta, it felt like we were stepping into a summer dream. The house itself boasts all the comforts of home, and yet, its setting transports you to a world of serene beauty and natural wonder.
Our twin 13-year-old girls and lab made the most of the private dock. To our delight, they caught several fish right from it! There was no end to their excitement each time they felt a tug on their fishing line. The stillness of the lake in the early morning, punctuated only by their gleeful shouts when they caught something, will be a memory I cherish forever.
When night fell, the stars put on a show unlike any other. We laid out on the dock, shut off all the lights in the house and star-gazing and identifying constellations. In those moments, the world felt both vast and incredibly intimate.
The location of the house was not only perfect for lakeside activities but also for the day trips we embarked upon. The rugged beauty of Acadia took our breath away. Camden and Belfast, with their charming streets, delightful eateries, and unique shops, provided both exploration and relaxation. The visit to the Washburn Norlands Living History Center was an enlightening trip back in time, offering a fantastic educational experience for all of us.
If you're searching for a place that offers tranquility, adventure, and authentic Maine charm, look no further than this Lakeside Retreat on Lake Damariscotta.

This is an absolutely wonderful property furnished with EVERYTHING you could possibly need. All rooms were beautifully furnished, the pictures don’t do the house justice. Our family had the most wonderful week. Highly recommend!

This lake house has the most beautiful view! It's clean and equipped with everything you need. We grilled almost daily and there was even an extra propane tank ready to use. Plenty of bath and beach towels too. The dock looked brand new, we loved spending time out there! We enjoyed using the canoes onsite as well. I'd recommend bringing a child-size life jacket if you have little ones. We did our grocery shopping at the Hannaford in Damariscotta. You can place your order at home, and pickup before checking in! We also spent a day at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and highly recommend it! For easy breakfast & lunch, Jefferson Market & General Store was down the street. Best steak & cheese sandwich! We really enjoyed our stay at the lakehouse. The owners were very responsive and provide everything you will need. They quickly got the property manager onsite when we noticed a limb had fallen after a heavy rainstorm. The owners take great care of their home and their guests. I would definitely stay at this property again!

We had a wonderful time at the house, diving off the dock and enjoying the beautiful surroundings! It rained one day but it was lovely watching the thunderstorm inside the cottage. This property was beautiful and all we could ask.

Mornings and evening fishing off the dock, all day swims, canoeing with loons, falling asleep to the sounds of water and calling loons. We can’t wait to come back! Perfect size for 4, comfy beds, amazing views, I can’t say enough about how much we loved this place.

The house was comfortable, well-equipped, and clean. Four bedrooms were perfect for our family. This has to be one of the best locations on Damariscotta Lake, the house is right on the lake and in a private spot. The water is deep and great for swimming or boating. The dock is top-notch and is great for sitting on and relaxing.

I don’t even know where to start!!! The view - you feel like you’re living right on Damariscotta Lake!! The boats, the loons, the lapping water…the view as you come up over the last hill on the drive in - SPECTACULAR!! The house is beautifully decorated and this is the first VRBO I didn’t have to have my own sheets!! The beds are comfy and have quality linens and towels! The 4 bedrooms are well-appointed and offer plenty of room for a large family. The one bathroom upstairs was never a problem even with a houseful! You can tell a lot of thought went into the renovations of this property. Plenty of dishes, flatware, glassware, serve ware and pots and pans. Two decks, a Solo stove and gas grill round out the outdoor space. I hated to leave!!

We enjoyed a great long weekend with family on Damariscotta lake! The house had incredible views with enough room for 6 adults and two children! The outdoor deck with fire pit was perfect! The sunset views in the evening were stunning! Great location close to Damariscotta for pumpkinfest and pumpkin regatta. Also good location to Booth Bay and Camden with lots of things to stay busy!

Absolutely incredible house set right on the water. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet. We will definitely be going back.

Loved our stay at this "literally on the lake" property. Recently redone and extremely comfortable. Sunsets were awesome.

What a beautiful, peaceful spot! The house is so close to the lake it feels like you’re on a boat. The views are stunning, with most windows and two decks facing west for the most spectacular sunsets over the lake. The house is newly updated with great taste and is fully equipped with everything you could need — from the kitchen to the decks (grill, solo stove, heat lamps) to canoes. And the owners are super helpful and responsive. We would definitely visit again!

We just returned from a relaxing 2 weeks on the Lake. Our extended family enjoyed swimming, paddling and watching the beautiful sunsets from the deck. The Hosts were great communicators both before and during our rental. The location was perfect - secluded, literally on the lake (my daughter walked in, looked out the window and exclaimed “It’s like we’re on a cruise ship”) The house was well appointed, we especially liked having two sitting areas, both with lake views. We enjoyed meals and game nights around the dining table. The kitchen was well stocked, and having the washer and dryer was key. We loved that the town of Damariscotta was close - great restaurants and shops. We spent an afternoon in Camden and also took a day trip to Acadia. We are looking forward to coming back next summer!

A remarkable spot, right on the water with 2 docks, ideal for swimming and boating. A beautiful house, just renovated, worked well for 6 adults and 2 kids. Kristin, the property manager, was very responsive and helpful.

Stunning cottage
Cottage has everything needed for a lovely vacation. The AC was needed on a few hot days and we felt fortunate to have it since most cottages do not. The owners were quick to respond to my questions and we will rent again.

Amazing views
Our families from Pennsylvania and Nebraska met in Maine for a beautiful, relaxing week. This house provided the perfect setting for us to canoe, fish, grill, enjoy amazing sunsets and spend time together. We made day trips to both Portland and Bangor and also enjoyed the town of Damariscotta. Jefferson Scoops is only a few minutes away and has amazing ice cream that we enjoyed three times during our week! The hosts were wonderful with communication and answered all of our questions quickly. The views of the lake from nearly every room in the house are amazing and the sun room is the perfect room to curl up with a good book. I hope we are able to return someday.

Perfect secluded spot on the waterfront
We had a wonderful, relaxing week. We loved sitting on the porch and listening to the loons in the evening, kayaking in the morning, snoozing on the couch with the calming sound of the lake, and pretty much everything about the house. Plenty of space for a family of four with adult kids. Everything "just right", with tasteful decoration, the Weber grill, and Solo fire pit. The hosts were attentive and easy to reach when we had questions. The spot is extremely private and quiet, which was just what we wanted. Easy to get to Damariscotta for groceries and eating out, plus great local baked goods at a couple of spots nearby. Loved it all.

Perfect house in a spectacular setting
We spent a fantastic weekend at this beautiful lake house. The house is really unique. It is incredibly private and quiet. It also sits right on the lake. There are unobstructed views of the lake from almost every room. The house was recently remodeled and kept the charm of a vintage lake house and yet modernized. The kitchen was modern and had everything we needed. The decorating was also amazing with a vintage modern lake feel. The house was very clean. The beds and linens were new and super comfortable. There were plenty of spaces to relax with a separate living room and sun room. There were also a two decks that we really enjoyed.
The setting was perfect. The sunsets were spectacular. The house was situated perfectly for us to enjoy drinks on the deck and watch the colors turn for over an hour. At night, you could hear the loons calling. It must be a good fishing spot as we say quite a number of fishing boats drive by during the day. The area has plenty to do including and a delicious home made ice cream shop right in Jefferson.
Thanks to Kevin for his responsiveness. We had so much fun and are definitely coming back again!
