About this house rental
Summary:
20009 - Golden Getaway: Stylish Retreat in Charming Village
The Space:
The Golden Getaway is a classic captain's home renovated with style and all the modern conveniences you need! Our home will envelop you and your family with a warm Cape Cod welcome. Conveniently located in Yarmouth Port, you have your choice of excellent bayside beaches, local eateries, and plenty of family friendly activities nearby.
After exploring the local offerings, come home and relax in one of two sitting rooms, one with a large tv for movie nights and the other with a working fireplace for those cooler evenings. Outside there are two patios to enjoy dining alfresco as well as a large secret garden to play games or find a peaceful corner with a book. On the ground floor there is a formal dining room and a kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals for your family. Head up the original, open staircase, reminiscent of a ship’s stairway, to two floors of bedrooms sleeping eight people. The primary bedroom is a tranquil retreat with a king bed and an ensuite shower room. The three, large, queen bedrooms share a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
Our home is in the center of Yarmouth Port and is steps away from some great local spots. The Old Yarmouth Inn, the oldest Inn on Cape Cod, is a great place for dinner as is Inaho Japanese Restaurant if you are in the mood for sushi. Wander over to The Lighthouse Keepers Pantry for excellent coffee and a picnic. If you are in search of brunch, head to Jack’s Outback, with fresh bread made daily and everyone's breakfast favorites. We are only 2 miles from Grey’s Beach, with white sand, and a long boardwalk across the marsh grass, this is one of the best places to view the sunset. Located in the center of a quintessential Northside village, Yarmouth Port is a great location and therefore very close to everything the Cape has to offer.

The windows didn't have shades so the sun rise would wake everyone up, air conditioning only in bedrooms but only 1 window opened in the kitchen, outside of house is in need of maintanence, busy main street and not many restaurants and shops like Hyannis

Charming and quirky historical home built in the 1830s. We arrived late at night and getting into the house was very easy and smooth. However, it was very dark as no exterior lights were left on or automatic. As we explored the house, we found clean and fresh bedrooms as well as dark closets and hidden stairwells with an excellent spooky factor. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and up to date. The main staircase is very steep, so I would not recommend it for children or anyone with mobility problems. The living room with a tv was perfect for gathering at the end of the day to talk and watch movies as we planned what to do next. This location is great for walking to nearby shops and restaurants, even if the street noise can be heard from each bedroom. Overall, we loved staying here and had everything we needed.

House was a great size and very comfortable for our group of 6. Wish the bathrooms had more counter space/shelving to store our toiletries.
Upstairs shower has an issue with temperature control. It was either very cold bursts of water or scalding hot bursts of water, no good in between.
The downstairs shower worked great, so everyone used that one.
Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at this house!

What a lovely place to stay, in an amazing little neighborhood in Yarmouth. It was just perfect for the six of us.

This house was very comfortable. The beds were great. Coffee shop within a 3 minute walk. Tex Mex place a 5 minute walk. Close to Hyannis and the ferry to Martha Vineyard. I would book this place again.

Very pleasant area to stay, quiet surroundings. House is very old and has creaky floorboards but that only adds to the character of the house. Fun to explore, furniture is very comfortable and clean.

My sisters and I had a wonderful reunion at this comfortable historical home. We were joined by nieces during the stay for a multi-generational family gathering. The home was extremely comfortable, close to a wonderful coffee shop, The Yarmouth Restaurant, a number of beaches, restaurants and Cape Cod towns. Grocery store, drug store and gas station very close by. A memorable time was had by all.

Spacious and great location
Great location and super spacious property. Really enjoyed be in my so close to so many things! The kitchen is a bit smaller than expected and a bit tight for a larger group. Great stay overall!
