About this house rental
Perched on Bull Mountain the Dekalb Retreat is a perfect location for your group or family to stay while enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. The location is unparalleled as its barely 20 minutes to downtown Portland and less than that to countless vineyards and entertainment options.
Upon entering the home, the foyer connects the nearby office with its cozy seating, streaming TV and wonderful natural light. Just down the hall sits the main living, dining and kitchen in a bright and open layout. Every item inside and out was curated to create that perfect blend of style and comfort for your stay. The kids won't want to miss the Harry Potter inspired reading room with plush pillows and countless books.
Through the sliding glass doors sits the spacious deck that is surrounded by trees and greenery. There is tons of seating options for your group between the couch, chairs, and table. It's a fantastic place to so spend every moment you can.
Upstairs are three of the bedrooms. The primary bedroom with the en-suite bathroom is spacious and beautifully appointed. The other two bedrooms have a queen bed and two twin beds respectively. The connected jack and jill bathroom is convenient for both.
As you descend downstairs to the lowest level there is a fantastic game room, cozy seating and some gaming console options on one of the big screen TV's. Please note the couch does pull out into a sleeper sofa for some additional sleeping flexibility. The fourth bedroom has a twin over twin bunk and some plush seating making it a perfect hangout spot for the kiddos or young adults.
Another couple great amenities is the fully fenced backyard that makes it a great space for kiddos and pets. The garage has been set up with a ping pong table and additional seating and games making it a perfect space to enjoy any time of the year.
We truly want you to enjoy your time and make some wonderful memories with your group. That being said, this is not a party or gathering house for groups that can't control their noise levels. We have relationships with all of our neighbors who have our direct contact information. Quiet time is 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please stay indoors during this time, keep the windows and doors closed and keep the volume to an enjoyable but reasonable level. If it is loud enough to be heard outside in these conditions, it is too loud for you to remain our guest. This property includes a noise alert monitoring system in order to ensure that neighborhood noise levels are respected. Again, please realize we want every group to enjoy their time, laugh, have fun and make memories. These devices are only to ensure noise levels don't reach a threshold that bothers our neighbors. Also, please note there is no electronic video surveillance monitoring the interior of the house.

Mahalo from Hawaii for a wonderful stay in beautiful Oregon. After a long day of driving we were welcomed to this most beautiful home with the most delicious local pinot noir. The kids immediately discovered the ping pong table, then were thrilled to claim their place in the downstairs game room and adjoining bedroom. Feeling comfortable and safe in the quietest of neighborhoods, it was lovely to dine on the deck and enjoy spectacular sunsets over the trees. The house had everything we needed and more, leaving wishing we could stay another week. Booking, check-in and out, and communication was top notch. Though we had no reason to call or text, we knew we were in good hands. We will have to find a reason to return soon. Thank you iTrip for making our visit so special!

We chose this home to be near a family member’s house and it was the perfect place to relax in the evenings. Very comfortable and family friendly.

We came to visit family and stayed at the property for 4 Days. The house was perfect for our group of 12, plenty of space for all of us and was perfectly located. Everything seemed to be a 15 minute drive from the house. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay.

The property was lovely but a little further to things than we hoped. Also, there appears to be something wrong with the AC in the bedrooms… no air coming out of vents. Otherwise a great stay!!

We stayed for 4 days during our very first trip to Explore Oregon. It’s very centrally located in a silent neighborhood.
Home is very good and very well maintained. Very sooperb game room. Awesome Patio…
Wish they would have stocked some basic kitchen needs like trash bag etc., Also, we faced the AC was not flowing consistently through all the rooms , especially on the second floor. But considering the weather we didn’t see it as main concern.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was in a nice area in a quiet neighborhood. The house was clean and comfortable. The owners were very helpful and responsive with any questions or concerns we had.

We stayed there because my son was graduating from college. It was a perfect space to bring family together. Plenty of room for everyone to sleep plenty of things for the young adults to do.

Suburban neighborhood - quiet, walkable. No neighborhood park though.
Stayed with grandparents, children, grandchildren
Fairly easy to sleep everyone. Listing I believe said the bunk bed was a double / twin combo but it was twin/twin combo so we had to use the pack play for the 3yo and it was a little small for her. Very open floor plan which is nice for waking hours. The office hide a bed room has no curtain over double French doors so sleeping there is not private.
House was very clean and plenty of space for hanging out. Has a cute space under the stairs with books and a light and pillows.
Drove about a mile away to a green belt type park where we could hike a loop and enjoy the out of doors. The house has basically no yard - only access is from the basement NOT from the deck.
Huge kitchen! Most of the cupboards are empty there are soooo many. Good equipment though so don’t have to bring any cookware with.

Nothing to complain, but a great stay.

This property was located about 30 minutes outside of Portland. It was great for our itinerary. We visited the coast one day, Portland the next, and the Historic Columbia River Highway for our last day. There was plenty of space for 2 families (One family of 4, school age kids and one family of 5, school age and pre teens). The kitchen was stocked with bare necessities. Add paper towels to your grocery list as they provide 2 rolls (which went quick with our 2 families). The pillows and bedding were very comfortable. There was a pack and play located in the master bedroom closet (but we didn't need it). The towels were thick and comfortable as well. There were washer pods available for the washer but no dryer sheets. The kids enjoyed the room under the stairs. This was a great place for us.

We rented this house for two nights as lodging for out of town family while we attended our mom's memorial. The house also served as a wonderful place for immediate family to gather after the service. The grandkids LOVED the Harry Potter Cupboard under the stairs. Ping pong and Foosball were also a hit. It was just after a big snow event and temperatures were in the 20s. It was cool in the basement but all who slept down there, including myself, were comfortable. Nine of us slept there including the baby, we had lots of space!

Day one no TV remote, had to call to get help. Was brought one the next day. Still day one leaking toilet on second floor. Was told it would be taken care of after we left. Then the kitchen sink leaked all over the kitchen floor and used the only 2 kitchen towels to mop it up with. Plummer arrived the next afternoon to fix it.My son in law is a licensed contractor in MI. and said who ever put the sink plumbing together did it very poorly. Last complaint is you so need to have a space heater in the basement , it was consistently 57derees very cold for small children!!

The house is beautiful and well kept. It accommodated a 3 generation family of 6 more than easily. The kitchen was full of high end utensils, cookware, appliances etc. The furniture and set up was very comfortable. The kids especially enjoyed the game room and ping pong table in the garage. We had a longer than normal stay of 12 days and were sorry to leave.

House was clean, nicely laid out and appointed. Good kitchen. Has the basics for cooking and baking including spices. Need to supply your own parchment paper, plastic wrap, condiments, spray oil, etc so come prepared.

Despite a few issues, which management was quick to resolve, we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed our stay very much. My 23 month old grandson loved the Cupboard Under the Stairs. It is just his size!

Very clean home with a nice open layout and nice furnishings throughout. There was a minor issue with a running toilet but an overall strong, positive impression for our entire family.

We booked this property for a family weekend. It was close to everything we needed, clean, easy to get ahold of someone in cases we needed them. They were great with communication before, during, and after the process. This was my first booking through VRBO and I would book this house again!
