Food was bland cold and tasteless. The room key needed to be changed daily stopped working. Attitude of some staff was really good but others were just rude and lazy unless you were a young women. Drinks are warm. Air conditioning in room was poor plus had mold in the vents . Now
Have a chest infection. Music around the pool could not get away from . Plus they played 2 different types from bar and pool so mixed .

The food was great but the room had roaches and very loud we we awaken by employees and guests routinely over our 6 night stay. The room key stopped working just about every night. The restaurants were booked for all but one night during our stay.

Ratchet crowd, not a business hotel. Only worth staying if you are okay around people getting sloshed and it was pretty stinky tbh. Good buffet
3.9
Everything was great but lunch they served not good burgers, hotdogs, salad, chicken wings, and the burgers were terrible
3.9
Wonderful resort. The place was so clean despite being right next to a beach. The food was very good in the buffet and the restaurants we tried. And the entire staff was helpful and quick with any requests.

Hotel had no store, staff attitude was not friendly, and dinner reservations was a hassle.

I would definitely stay again! Came with my husband on this trip for my birthday 🎂 i loved it!

Staff was very rude. Would even argue with the people staying there and among each other. felt so unwelcoming. And the drinks and food they leave open and let the bugs go on them and even inside.

don't go by reviews im am going to tell you the staff there are so helpful the food was amazing love everything i will go again also good drinks

From the time I arrived until I departed the service was awesome. The food was delicious, I ate at the buffet, the steak house and Kulinarium the food there was spectacular. My family and I love staying at the Riu

The beach is the best part of this trip
The buffet was better then the restaurants
The room we got had a terrible view of the lower roof top and the rooms are run down my toilet was cracked. Bed very hard and it just felt dirty.best part was the beach and drinks.
Don’t think I’ll be back

Celebrated my 30th here with a few friends it was a very clean and friendly review a little on the smaller side. The only thing I wish they had more of was more activities by the pool like day entertainment. The food was excellent from all restaurants. La Linda was the sweetest when she checked us in. Tyler and Kay were excellent bartenders. Quan and shaddy were awesome host at the buffet. We were accommodated with anything we needed and I will definately be back.

The hotel is right on the beach. The beach is beautiful

Buffets for breakfast and dinner were on point! The specialist restaurants really sucked!!!!! The facilities are overall just ok- NOT worth a 4k stay.

I've visited the Riu chain of hotels and must say i was a little disappointed wheb my experience wasn't the same here. Hotel looked as if it could use some renovations and there was limited entertainment for adults. The experienced could have been elevated with more food options available through out the day as well as more entertainment for adults. Otherwise the staff was kind.

The property was not too bad, but you can tell that its aging. The first room they tried to put us in was run down. The AC was loud, the shower leaked, and the floor was starting to pop up by the bed. I asked hpw much it would cost for an upgrade, and when they said it would be over a thousand dollars, i opted for just getting a cleaner room. The said they would give us a free upgrade, and after signing some papers, the new room was exatly the same as the old one; just more clean.
The room service menu was very limited. To eat meals at a restaurant other than the buufet, you were forced to use their app that sucks! To get reservations, you had to book out two days in advance. That means the first two nights you stay there, you have to eat at the buffet because it is always booked out. Even when you walk by the restaurants, they are only half full but still wont let you eat there. If its all inclusive, i should be able to eat where i want. That alone takes away a couple of stars. On top of that, the only restaurant that was any good, was the steak house. Id eat at the steak house or the buffet before the other restaurants.
The pool and beach were really nice but there is no one taking drink orders anywhere but at the bar.
Ive stayed here and the RIU palace in Cancun. The one in Cancun was definitely better.
If all the inclusive resorts in Nassau are going to contine to go downhill, my next visit may be somewhere else.

Daphne from the front desk was nice. Look for Randy assistant manager handling restaurants, he was the best! He helped us booked our reservation for dinner at the Japanese restaurant. Since there was no available booking online.

Pros: the infinity pool with a swim up bar overlooking the ocean was amazing! Such a beautiful spot. The ocean (minus the jellyfish) was perfect. The staff of RIU were mostly fabulous as well.
Cons:
- The room was just OK - ocean view but always damp & no ability to control the temperature. Fridge & room (towels, TP) only restocked by request. Several other guests mentioned issues with toilets not flushing properly (ours was fine).
Our TV didn’t work at all.
- Check in was fast but our room wasn’t ready until late afternoon; our luggage was then delivered to the wrong room & we had to track it down.
- Dinner - reservations required for restaurants & they open up two days in advance, but you cannot book reservations until checked in & on site… this means no reservations (buffet only) for two days - breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Food overall - not impressive! A few items were tasty, but overall, it was not as expected.
“Room service” was premade sandwiches & “snacks” available 24/7 were stale nachos & burnt popcorn
- Bars - only two options - a bar off the lobby & a bar near the the pool, which is open limited hours. Definitely not “top shelf” as advertised. While I saw a few bottles of Tito’s/Absolute - what was used in drinks was mostly rail liquor; with mixers that tasted awful. Speaking of drinks - only two beers available- Kalik light & Heineken on draft. Limited wines available during dinner, no liquor. Wine selection was ok.
Overall: I’d rate 2-2.5 stars.

The staff was really nice and accommodating. Hotel needs a little update. Great spot on the beach. Great location. Reservation for the speciality restaurants are pretty hard to come by luckily there were cancellations if not we wouldn’t have been able to eat at any. They need to revise that process. Overall I had a great trip.

We are so glad we upgraded to the end room! Full view of the water from the lounge chairs was absolutely amazing! The sunrise in the morning was perfect to watch! The staff at RIU is top notch! They definitely take pride in their customer service!

We had an amazing time at the RIU. Keno (morning/lunch)and John (evening) we requested any time we went to eat. Angel was in house keeping she was soooo sweet and helpful Thank you all from NYC!!!!! (Everyone was kind)

Great place to visit… totally nJoy the Rui. Will visit again.

Liked the cleanliness and the staff but waiters are needed at the beach for guests who want drinks.

Noticed and squished small dark brown bug in bed. Also developed six red raised itchy spots on my skin. I really hope it is a coincidence and I didn’t bring anything home with me.

Overall everything was nice 😃

This was our second time here in 7 years. Many improvements to lobby and outdoor area were noticed. But we did have to request extra bath towels and there were no shower mats or towels. Rooms were humid and controlled by opening balcony door and use of AC. Keeping mirrors clear was my challenge but, if that was the worse thing, RIU is a wonderful place for a Bahamas vacation.
3.9
If you enjoy rude staff and bottom shelf liquor this is the hotel for you. The staff all looked over worked and tired, even the bartenders looked like they hated the place. The food was 0/10 and forget getting dinner reservations. The lobby smelled as if it was mopped with a dirty mop over and over again. The beds were so uncomfortable and we had to beg for extra pillows. The spa was the only place in the entire resort I enjoyed, staff and services top tier. RIU will never see me again!!
3.9
When booking the RIU we were extremely excited however upon arrival it did not seem like the pictures and descriptions matched the booking. The food was basic all inclusive buffet food. The specialty restaurants were average- the reservation system was frustrating especially on the arrival night. The pool area and bars were nice but crowded at times. The room service was a joke- it had 5 options including stale deli meat sandwiches. They tried to charge for asking for a bottle of champagne. Overall, it worked for what we needed however would not book again if other options are available.

I like everything about the places I’d recommend everyone to go enjoy and have a great times there.. it’s beautiful I love it

My sister and I had a wonderful time. The only issue we had was the last night that we were there. We were in 1027 but 1029 began fighting around 9:30pm hitting and breaking things, screaming and throwing things in the hallway. The front desk started getting complaints around that time, my sister went down 3x. The security guard came up 2x…..still aloud them to stay, the police were called! Each time they were quiet for about an hour and then start again, then I went downstairs at around 3am and again at around 6:30am. Finally at 6:30 Ariu sent a different security guard and they were then asked to leave! When we checked out we spoke to the supervisor at the front desk, after she started giving excuses of protocol, I explained that that was untrue because from 9:30pm to 6:30am there were calls and 5 visits to the front desk sister and the only problem should of been resolved way before the next morning! We loved everything else from the waitress to housekeeping, bellman, bartender and the excursions but not excuses from the supervisor!

Overall a great time but we did lose power and air for 12 hours and it was pretty miserable. Stinks when you’re on the penthouse level and only one elevator that goes there but everyone can use it. Takes awhile to get to and from that floor.
