Terrible! No one at the desk upon arrival. Construction everywhere. Checked room before bringing up bags. Terrible. Furniture was worn and splintered. No hot water in sinks. Stained bathtub. Door was scratched and look clawed. Dog barking continuously in next room. Construction guys running the front desk. Didn’t stay. No refund was given.

Great stay at a very affordable price.

Construction within the hotel, cleanliness within the hotel was questionable. Staff was hard to find, hotel smelled like smoke, within a smoke free establishment.

Do not stay here! They’re undergoing some Renovations & updates after recently changing ownership, but until they fix their night management issues, they’ll continue to attract the wrong crowd.
The red flag: Sign at front desk that they don’t rent to locals. This place is apparently known to be a hot spot for unfavorable activity.
The bad:
TV didn’t work.
Fridge leaked.
Thin walls.
Elevators questionable.
Stained bathtub
The awful:
Partiers. Loud music blasting all night.
People engaging in inappropriate behavior in the public pool area.
People engaging in very loud adult behavior in their rooms - with the thin walls.
The worst part:
The night manager Melissa who did not care about any of this. She was not there to have to deal with people. When we asked to be moved, we were accused of harassing her. This place is a cesspool for shady people because they’re allowed to be shady & inappropriate.
The only good things:
The owner of the moonshine bar. She was so kind - I truly hope this place can get its stuff together because you can see she loves her bar & wants to make it a fun spot for people to stop.
The morning manager Nicole - she had to listen to not only our complaints in the morning, but others who had similar complaints, and actually showed compassion & remorse for how we were treated by the night manager.
Keep driving if you’re looking for a place to stop for the night. Do not recommend.

Booked a room with a king bed and they put us in a room with two smaller beds. The room they put us in had bug larva on the floor and a bad smell. We decided to leave because of the conditions and had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk after calling multiple times. Was told they were going to cancel and refund, but never did.

Absolute disgrace. Everything about this place is gross.

No one at service desk, just a note with a number to call, finally got a person to come, pool was closed. Which wasnt mentioned on website, she said it been closed about a year, they said all the rooms were dirty, finally did get to room, it was dirty, hair in shower, a pair of shorts hanging in the bathroom, no soap or shampoo provided, service said that was the only room i could get, went to an event, got back to room and the air condition wasnt working, they moved me to another room that smelled like cigarettes and marijauna, the a/c was working and i just wanted to sleep, well that a/c wouldnt adjust, it was on 66 so i nearly froze all night, didnt check breakfast i just assumed it was as dirty as the rest of this place

Disappointing to find the pool closed

The pictures on the site don’t match hotel at all. One of the rooms I rented the door wouldn’t shut. I asked for another room and was told none was available. There was maybe 5 to 8 cars in the lot. I did get the room changed the next day, after we had to move stuff from the broken door room. No coffee, pool was closed. Just a bad experience.

1 night stay. I was excited when we got one of the "renovated" rooms.. i dont even know where to begin... painting the walls and not repairing the walls first, the laminate flooring over the old carpet tiles... bathroom.. im assuming they didnt even touch. Then it was a nice surprise to wake up to 3 roaches in our room. I was able to get a picture of one and the other 2 ran under the bed. So if you stay in room 225 you will have some extra guests. Unfortunate because we travel to Marietta once a month and i was hoping to give this hotel our continuing business because they are priced fairly. Im just hoping the remodel doesnt raise the prices because the room was redone so poorly

No one was there to check us in for over a hour past check in time. They went to Walmart

Renovations are underway and to Under-par as well. Once we checked in we never a saw another hotel employee so they are somewhat under staffed as well. Ceral bars and fruit was breakfast. But for the price I suppose these would do. We just need place to sleep for one night not hang for a week.

No trash can in the room, 2 remotes but neither worked, TV doesn't even show what channel you are on, shower temp was only luke-warm at best, not a single working vending machine, no working ice machine. $75 wasted! Could have stayed somewhere better cheaper!!!

This hotel is under renovations. It has the potential of being a really great/beautiful hotel! It was not a horrible stay though. It was not as clean as one would prefer. It looks like the property has sat empty and not taken care of for a period of time and reopened without clean up being complete. The room was clean for the most part. Didn't have a trash can except for a small one in the bathroom. The floor was hardwood and didn't feel mopped. There was no hand soap or bar of soap. The light above the mirror did not work. Our tv remote had no batteries in it, but the lady cleaning our floor gave us a different one. Bed was comfy and it was quiet for the most part. Breakfast was prepackaged snacks but was better than nothing. There was a decent variety to choose from along with bottles of grape and orange juice. For $50 a night, i would say it was a decent stay. Just needs better cleaning! It also smelled funny in the halls and the carpet looked dirty in the halls. There was a woman vacuuming but it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. It needs a good deep cleaning.

Under renovation. For the price it’s fine. Pool was not open.

Wish the pool was open

Going thru renovation.... low cost. Historical building. Staff was a little aloof. No breakfast (couple of wrapped items... coffee only to drink) but didn't "pay" for it anyhow.

Run down. The hotel was empty, yet they still gave me a room with a broken deadbolt. Smelled. There wasnt soap to wash my hands.

The staff was friendly, the room is clean. Check in was easy. The problem is that there is a pool advertised and i am traveling with a now heartbroken little person who thought she was going to get to spend some time swimming. Everything else is fine.

After check in we were informed the pool was not in working condition, refunded our stay

To start, we booked a king room but when we got there it was a room with two double beds. I went down to the lobby, to check in this and the lady there told me the king rooms were being painted and they had none. So I said whatever, even though you can call send an email anything to let someone know things like this prior to them paying for said room. So, we decide we are going to get something to eat, and we go to leave and realize our door does not lock. So I send my girlfriend to talk to the front desk lady because I am not trying to be rude towards her at this point, and we got down there and she is on her phone just talking away. Once we tell her hey the door isn’t locked up there she says I’ll just move you, so we go to the new room. The refrigerator in there (mind you there wasn’t one in the other room at all) isn’t plugged in and I am traveling with a year old who drinks milk, so we have to move the fridge to an outlet because the one it’s near is burnt out. The fridge kicks on and guess what? It starts leaking. The place smelled like marijuana, the safety isn’t there, and on top of everything the pool states on the website and on the doors to the pool that the pool is closed, but there were people swimming in the pool.
This was one of my worst hotel stays for sure, a waist of my money, not kid friendly whatsoever, but hardly people friendly. A dude had a luggage carrier and a cigarette in his mouth and his dog on the other hand and walked right into the lobby.

I made a mistake with my booking and this team fixed it right away. So grateful

Every time that I come to stay at the Wingate in Marietta, the overall quality of service and hospitality that I receive has definitely exceeded my expectations, especially considering the price-point. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the wifi is great, the breakfast had several nice options, and most importantly for me the room's AC unit worked wonderfully. Special thanks to Abbey and her staff, for being so helpful and accommodating.

Trash under the beds. Showers and end tables not clean. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in!

Our room hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in months if not longer. 2 pairs of socks under our beds and dust bunnies galore. It seemed that they literally swept the dirt under the beds. I personally wouldn’t stay here again. Maybe I should have seen the writing on the wall when the parking lot was completely empty for our entire stay. Even our driver said “this is where you’re staying!?” Yikes. Lesson learned.

The rooms were very duty and I had ants in my room. But they gave me another room that was better

Floors and carpets in rooms and hallwaysfilthy; ice machine broken and leaking all over the 2nd floor. First room we were given was not cleaned before we walked in- food/dirt on floor and bed not made. Staff checked us into another room on 2nd floor that had a door so difficult to get into, we had to have staff assist us getting in and out of the room. Breakfast here is a joke. Despite the property being non-smoking, people were smoking marijuana and cigarettes from their rooms, trying to cover it up by opening the room windows. No toilet paper in our room- desk staff mentioned they were running low. We had 2 bath towels in our room; asked desk staff for 2 more- they don't have anymore clean right now, so we could not have towels.
We couldn't check out fast enough. Will never return.

What can I say? It took an hour and a half to get checked in. First the room we were given, the refrigerator did not work, same in the 2nd. The third room was a single king bed and that room was dirty!!! Finally we get to the 4th room, and the fridge has no shelves in it. Was supposed to bring another fridge, never showed up! The ice machine was pouring water and we had to walk through it, breakfast was a real joke. Definitely will not be staying here ever again! Oh the pool is out of order, the lady at the desk told me how a child had drown in the pool 6 months ago.

Our room had not been swept and had probably 100 ants on the floor, walls, and even a handful in the bed. The filters in the heating/cooling unit were black and there was mold on the unit itself. Only one actual bath towel in the bathroom, and overall just horribly dirty.
3.0
Clearly some local folks bought this hotel hoping to rehab it with lots of chlorine, some buckets and a scrubber. It is located on a busy loud road, the hallways smell of stale smoke, the carpet was filthy. Our room was "newly remodeled" and had very sticky fake plank flooring but the remodel was superficial. Just do not stay here unless 60$ is all you can afford in which case you would probably be fine putting up with this sad sack hotel. I will say the staff was polite and kind.

Who ever the photographer was did a fantastic job hiding the truth.
The building is run down
Took an hour for someone to come to front desk so i could check in
The room i was put in wasnt what i reserved
There was blood on one of the beds the shower was disgusting
there was construction work going on outside and inside the building
The paint and wall paper was falling off the walls the carpet looked like it hadent been cleaned in 10 years
The staff was rude
The bed without blood thankfully was comfortable
TV didnt work
I truly threw money in the trash staying there
I would not recommend anyone staying at this establishment the super 8 right down the street is a much better option and that is saying a lot

no body around at check out. no breakfast. we found coffee it was cold. it looked like a remodel was going on and the room we had was not finished it had a few problems. I feel like the room you get to stay in should be finished

The worst 😫 i ever experienced no one at the front desk for 45 minutes place is under construction no toilet paper at all in the room another 30 minutes for that no clean sheets on the bed bath room was nasty we tried to find another hotel all book 4 other people at the front desks complaining we had no choice but to stay i want a full refund or i go to the better business burrow don't want to do might be my only choice

Property is under renovation- but my room had ceiling falling down, chair was all torn up, missing edging of counter, and shower was moldy. But overall room was clean, sheets were clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly and parking area well lit.
