This is my third time in this location in 18 months and I am always very pleased. Room was nice, king bed, just enough for me. These rooms are a little small for more than two people but they are always clean and the staff is always excellent!!

Hallway was very balmy and musty. Room had a musty smell to it when we first walked in, but then it faded after a while. Service was excellent.

We did not realize when booking that there is no free coffee or breakfast downstairs. Somehow we missed that. We had to pay $6 for drip coffee downstairs. My star rating doesn’t reflect that we did not see that. When we checked in the clerk was nice, and asked if we wanted the 2nd or 3rd floor. We decided 3rd bc no one would be above us. They failed to mention the hallway air was out on the 3rd floor. When we came back from dinner I asked if they knew the air was out and they said they did. It would have been nice if they said when we made our choice of floors “By the way the air in the hallway is out on the 3rd floor, and the available room is very far from the elevator”. It was EXTREMELY HOT in the hall. Also, the room smelled like my grandmother’s basement. Musty. The air conditioner was excellent and kept us cool inside the room and the bed was comfortable. Other wise this would have been a one star review. Choose the other hotel nearby with better ratings and free coffee if you don’t need a bar.

*DO NOT STAY HERE* Someone opened my room door two times. One in the afternoon and the middle of the night. Management said it was housekeeping checking rooms in the afternoon & they made a mistake. However housekeeping did not say “housekeeping” “sorry wrong room”“perdón” nothing. Just opened the door realized it was locked with the latch and walked away. When I got to the door there was no one in the general location. There are no cameras in the hallway only on the elevators. Seems extremely sketchy. I was also told no one accessed the room in the middle of the night even though my personal travel alarm went off. I felt dismissed when it was brought to the attention of management & heard excuses. Didn’t feel safe & will not stay there again when I come to visit family. It was giving “trafficking”. Not safe at all. I should be able to feel safe while visiting & not have to have 3 different locks on the door to sleep

The curtain on the windows was ripped and the heavy window shade was not in good condition! The area around the drain in the bathtub was black and needed to be scrubbed! The poorest Courtroom room I have stayed in. Check in was wonderful as the staff was efficient and pleasant!

I stayed only two nights. Many problems may have been due to large number of families with children. However, my room was not serviced at all, ice machine was always empty, elevator was out of order, and curtain would not close all the way. However, the front desk staff was most helpful at checkin.

If you need a place to crash, it isn’t a bad stay. The desk in the room is off and inconvenient.. the bar is limited and pricey, the menu is also limited (served me an undercooked chicken sandwich that had me barking all night into the toilet), it’s down in Matthews and not overly convenient to uptown. Everyone is nice and all.. but.. for the money.. you can do far better.

The staff at the hotel was exceptional. On our first night the power was out for approx 5 hours. We were at the bar having dinner when it happened. One light shone down on the bar. Monique was our bartender and did an excellent job of interacting with the 7 of us seated there. We were all of different ethnicities and walks of life. She led us in many conversations about life, caring for each other and the state of our world. It was a wonderful example of humanity at its best.

Nice hotel with great amenities. Clean and housekeeping knocked daily for anything we might need. The staff was always nice and greeted everyone with a smile. Location was great for a weekend football tournament at the local Sportsplex.

Hotel had a very unpleasant smell in the main hall and the room wasn't very clean (had a large chunk of fingernail on the bathroom counter - ugh). Overall, the facility is worn and a little dingy. On the plus side, all of the employees we encountered were great and went out of their way to be friendly.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The overall state of the hotel is good. The rooms was perfect. And it is very convenient to many things! During our stay they were out of some staples in the restaurant. We were on the first floor and had to walk by the fitness center. The odor was strong and the hallway smelled like a house school locker room after a football game.

Was dissatisfied with TV channels, only choices were sports channels, no movie, local news or HBO even. No coffee available in the lobby, unless you buy it from bistro?! At $125 + a night, there should be complimentary coffee in the lounge during morning hours.

I definitely will be staying here when I travel each month to Matthews. The staff was great from the warm smiles, to giving us recommendations on food and directions to where I needed to go.

The lady who checked me in was on her phone the whole time it took her 15mins to get me situated and I had a reservation already paid in full. My tv had no remote and she told me she didn’t have one to give me. Then I realized she put me in a handicapped room and the shower made a mess she said she didn’t realize it but she could switch me. She just had terrible customer skills. The room however was very clean
