Do yourself a favor and stay at teh Marriott next door.
Hotel is remarkably run down.
Stains all over the carpet, weird smells everywhere, the foyer door glass was cracked. Paint peeling from everywhere, signs worn away etc. etc.
The whole place needs a refurb. Feels far too cheap for a Hilton.
Despite all that, the bed was one of the comfiest I've had which in the end, is what you're there for.

If I am honest it was just bang aversge. There is nothing special about this propery.

Disappointing, very dirty room - Carpet stains, dirty walls, chipped paint, dirty tiles. Very dated. Surprised Hilton to let a hotel get in this state. Also why need for car park charges when the hotel is out of town?
Breakfast selection good and staff were polite.

The service was amazing all of the staff were great. The room was very comfortable. The only negative was in the communal areas like the bar and restaurant it was freezing, I am not sure if the heating was broken or OFF.

Room was a very long walk from reception.
Hotel was loud all through the night, people walking around, doors slamming.
Bathroom smelt of damp.
Shower head wouldn’t stay in place so showing was a struggle.
Room very dated.
Glad it was only one night

Staff are really nice, however the hotel needs a massive upgrade, rooms are tired, pool and gym are tired even though being well equipped, sauna seems to be new but the overall condition of the hotel is not good, ask for a room thats not adjacent to the boiler house as the low rumbling of the awakening monter will keep you awake all night, thank god for my earplugs, up your game Hilton, this location could be a show stopper.

It was the worst stay that we have ever had

Hotel in great location, but is a bit tired looking. Chairs in bar worn. No information in room about hotel facilities.
Hotel room stains on carpet and shower curtain was very marked, towel didn't look clean. Minimal tea, coffee facilities. Room had odour of smoker and looking out of window lots of cigarette ends.

Excellent hotel. Very clean rooms and bathroom. Comfortable and spacious. Amazing breakfast.
Was disappointed unfortunately on the morning of check out as was woken by housekeeping to be asked when we would be vacating the room, we was aware that checkout was midday not before 10am.
Due to paying for parking overnight and leaving early as we felt we had to vacate the room also wasted 2 hours of parking. Such a shame as the hotel and staff are lovely.

It was a lovely hotel, shame about the parking, and also we arrived to no shower gel and couldnt get hold of anyone of the phone. We also wanted extra pillows but there were none due to it being busy, but the receptionist was lovely and very apologetic. Room was a bit noisy with kids running about earlier on, but nice room, good temperature, and amazing breakfast.

The manager greeted my party at the door with our keys already ready. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel is about to go through updating renovations, so some of the esthetic issues will be taken care of with that. Hotel was perfect for what we needed.

Amazing staff team. Everyone goes the extra mile to help you, from the lovely reception team to the housekeepers. However, as other reviews suggest, this hotel is in dire need of refurbishment and this great team are let down by the state of the hotel rooms. Rooms are old and outdated. Not maintained very well - carpets have stains, furniture stains, chipped paint, scratches from luggage on the walls, lamps not working, no air conditioning, old heating system, no fridge, shower is ancient and awful pressure. Shower head was so old and crusty. The beds are comfy though! The housekeepers do what they can to keep the rooms clean, but the disrepair make them look so unappealing. This is not your normal Hilton standard hotel. Also - the sound proofing is awful. Really noisy at night and in the mornings, doors slamming, talking, shouting, drunks etc. Was hard to contact reception in the early hours of the morning as they were completing night tasks, calls went unanswered. I did have to ask for a late checkout because of the noise from a wedding keeping me awake with little sleep. If this was a business trip, I’d not have been pleased. The rooms are so warm in the summer with no AC. A fan wasn’t available in my room but staff brought one as soon as they could. It didn’t do much so I struggled to sleep. I was disappointed after paying £81 a night, the premier inn nearby is half the cost and much better so I feel ripped off. Wouldn’t consider this a Hilton.

A very good place to stop. The food was very good especially the breakfast (the best I've had at an hotel). The facility needs a bit of TLC.ie paint work needs touching up. The staff were very very helpful and positive.

Decent sized family room with 2 double beds. Room and bathroom is dated. Nice breakfast. Booked the hotel for swimming pool but it had to be closed.

Dirty room on arrival. In fact was the nastiest room ever.

Staff at the hotel were all amazing and welcoming. Unfortunately the hotel is very dated and in much need of updating.

The whole property was clean and ready and the location was quiet

Hotel was clean and spacious, staff were pleasant, but the room itself felt a little tired and needed a refurb. Breakfast was nice with reasonable variety, but evening meal was very so so considering the price. Leisure centre pool was good with nice changing facilities and provided towels and lockers - just be aware that you need to book a slot and times for children are restricted. Parking was easy and although it was an extra charge it was reasonable for 24 hours. A pretty solid place to stay, I’d book again if we needed a place to stay overnight in the area, but would likely eat out.

Have to pay extra for WiFi and parking which made the stay quite expensive for what was a very basic, low quality room. Found a long hair on a towel which wasn’t ideal. Good service and overall fine but won’t be rushing back

When we were looking the descriptions for family room it says we will be given two queen size beds instead we were only give king size beds.

Great location & great room.
Attended a family party at the hotel but was let down by the poor organisation of specialist food for my vegetarian wife with no labelling of the food on the Buffett and no individual plate provided. A year in the planning and spoilt by poor management on the night.

Room was dirty and outdated. Staff were utterly useless, made me wait 30 minutes to check in at 11.30pm because they couldn’t find my room?? Shocking

Stairwell smelt musty
Bed was comfy and room quiet so OK for an overnight stay

Was initially offered room 197 however declined to stay there as there was an unpleasant odour and the window could not be opened. Reception staff were extremely helpful and immediately moved me to another room which was fine.
Bathroom was clean but could do with a fresh up around the tile areas.
Had access to the pool and again, staff very helpful when i struggled with the locker combination locking system.
Breakfast staff were also top notch - polite and friendly without being over bearing.
Was a bit miffed at having to pay an additional fee to park in the hotel car park, but over all it was a good stay

The rooms are very tired, damp stains, numerous stains on carpet and are overall in poor condition. Apparently the hotel is due to be upgraded and 2 rooms already have been. However the real positive is that the staff are all absolutely excellent (the hotel standards aren’t their fault). The 2 managers at breakfast were amazing, it was like feeding the 5000, but you wouldn’t have known. The reception staff were excellent too and couldn’t do more to help. The food is great including breakfast and the Gin is well priced. Would be an amazing place to stay if the upgrade is completed.

The shower was cold. The food in the restaurant was not great quality for the price. Breakfast was However excellent. Keys for room were not programmed for the whole stay, very frustrating then having to go all the way down to reception and queue when short of time . The jacuzzi which shouldn’t have children was filled with children and no one was checking on this so never got to use the jacuzzi.

Thanks for an enjoyable stay

Basic room facilities, could do with upgrading.

The room was spacious, however the pillows were extremely poor quality, they completely sink in. When we asked for firmer pillows we were told the only pillows are the ones provided. We went to Asdas to purchase our own pillows.

The room was layed out nicely. The beds were comfortable. Coffee and tea making facilities. A very nice stay.

Its not a 4 star hotel. Room was tired, stains on the carpet, the walls, the sofa, in the bathroom.
The whole hotel needs a complete refresh and in particular the rooms.
Not worth the money at all. By far the worst Hilton hotel i have stayed in by a long shot and i have stayed in many of them across the country. I will not be returning.

parking is not free, even for guest! bathrooms are in desperate need of renovation! Guest have to book to use pool, whilst external users just come and go!

The carpet was old and ill- fitted, the door to my room was broken. There were areas in the hotel that needed repairs. There were dumped stuff outside from my window view. My towels all had stains. I was very disappointed as I have used Hilton in London and Newcastle and I was impressed

We checked in to find that our room had not been made up. Received an upgrade. Too many noisy children.

Old hotel in need of a upgrade. Rooms old and cold. Dated decor from about 2002!

This hotel is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The rooms are very old fashioned, tired and stark. We had dinner here and like some other diners wanted to order some more to be told the kitchen was closed. Why were we not asked if we wanted anything else before they closed the kitchen. One of the worst rooms I have stayed in for a very long time
4.0
The Hotel is clean and tidy. The rooms are a little tired but clean. Bathroom in need on refurbishment as looks like it did in the 80s. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.
