Beautiful scenery and excellent facilities.

Beautiful location on the lake with Alps in the distance. Wonderful infinity pool and warm “resting room” with floor to ceiling window of the view. Excellent restaurant.

I have been staying in this hotel regularly now for 18 months, in itself a good recommendation as I have stayed in most of the 4 star hotels in the area and always find myself coming back here, the staff are excellent, the rooms are brilliant and the hotel as a whole is a pleasure to stay in.

Location is great. Stunning view of the lake and the Alps! Walking distance to many local restaurants. Parking was the only issue. There is a garage but there is only one way in and out.

Too expensive. The staff is not happy to work there and the guest recognize this.

Wonderful hotel with beautiful views over the lake. Very clean and comfortable room.
Very friendly staff and one of the best gin and tonics expertly made by the guy behind the bar! Dinner very tasty and a good menu choice.
Breakfast also excellent.
Sadly only spent one night but would love to return and enjoy the beautiful area more.
Would highly recommend.

So good can park the car right in front of the hotel. Staff in reception and restaurant are all very friendly and helpful. So amazing to have dinner and breakfast looking at the stunning lake view with the Alps. Its a pity that i cannot get a room with the lake view

This is a modern hotel on the lake front, with excellent facilities and spacious, well-decorated rooms. Very comfortable. Great views of the lake and mountains, especially at sunset. A lovely restaurant, with excellent food, although like most hotels in this region, a little expensive.

Check in was excellent, lady at the front desk was able to speak very good english and explained everything we needed to know about the area - great stay, wish we could have stayed longer..

Hotel is small, but updated. Walls are paper thin. Pillows are flat and very uncomfortable (European thing maybe). Coffee machine in room was nice, but we had used packets in room from people before. Alarm clock woke us up at 530 am thanks to the people who stayed before... again something housekeeping overlooked. We complained, but they didn't seem to care. Shower didn't drain well, so you stand in water. Phone didn't work, so I had to call front desk from my cell phone to complain about coffee packets. Great view was only thing they do well. I wouldn't recommend staying here for what we paid.

This is a beautiful hotel right on a lake in the Bavarian alps near Fuessen and the Neuschwanstein castle. The staff was great, the food good and the room very comfortable. I only planned to stay one night but was regretting that I did not stay for at least two nights to enjoy the benefits of this hotel and location more. I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily go back again.

We booked the room with the Lake View for one night of our European trip and it was beautiful. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, our waiter during dinner was very nice and even recommended a lovely bottle of wine for us to take up to our room and enjoy later that evening. The room was clean and had a large balcony where we sat out and looked at the stars that night.

We stayed in the lake view room and the view was gorgeous! The hotel reception was very friendly and responsive and the spa was nice touch (newly renovated). Loved the breakfast and also walk along the lake in the morning.

Staff was great, with "Bill" from the restaurant and bar exceptional, going above and beyond with our health minded food and beverage needs. Great view of the village, lake and Alps from the wrap around balcony, and a only few minute drive to Fussen, Castles and Austria. We will definitely stay again next time we visit the area.

We booked this hotel based off the location and view. We were not disappointed. Make sure you get a view of the lake and mountains which are breathtaking. The room was spacious, well equipped, and insanely comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful with local insights. Also, breakfast each morning was amazing. We ended up booking another night since we were so comfortable and in no rush to leave town.

Hotel is clean and comfy. The lake view is spectacular! Staff is OK. My complain is that their Internet service is very bad. Do not expect to get connected unless you go down the bar and try as many times as you can...

We had a balcony room with a lake view which was very special. Unfortunately the "king" bed was two beds pushed together with a gap in the middle. This required each person to be completely on their own side. Also the wifi did not work in the room. When I notified the front desk I was told it worked in the restsurant, not very convenient. Also there was construction going on in the hotel with a large ladder set up out front and workmen walking through the hotel .

My wife and I loved our stay at Hotel Am Hopfensee, located in a small, quiet village outside of Fussen. The country ambience and delightful scale was a welcome change from the all cities we had been visiting. Access to the local / regional sights is very easy, and the numerous restaurants and bars along the lake shore provide delicious diversions.Walking along the picturesque lake side is an effective way to decelerate to the local pace. Our walk immediately attracted a pair of swans, whose territory we were apparently trespassing on.The hotel has many pleasing design features and finishes, including innovative lighting treatments and embossed leather wall coverings. The Spa is intimate, well-appointed and soothing. The staff are courteous and professional. The bar and restaurant are both a treat to visit. Our lake-view room was large, comfortable and spotless, with a lovely bath. We enjoyed animated views of the Alps reflected in the small lake from our comfortable balcony. Sunrise and alpenglow were particularly dramatic; the sound of alpenhorns a fine accompaniment to the last pink trails of sunset. This is a picturesque and comfortable base for visiting the local castles and surrounding countryside by car. We will come back.

We stayed at Hotel Am Hopfensee for two nights while visiting nearby castles. It was a lovely and relaxing spot with an amazing view of the lake and mountains from our room balcony! The beds were comfortable and the restaurant on site had great service and food. We were able to find parking right across the street and our request for extra pillows was taken care of by the time we returned from dinner our first night.I'd suggest this hotel for anyone car tripping through Europe who is looking for a spot frequented more my European travelers than American ones. We can't wait to go back!

We decided to splurge and get a larger suite. It was worth it. Our room was on the corner and had a wrap-around balcony, part of which overlooked the lake. There were plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel has a bar and restaurant.

I couldn't get Wifi signal in my room. I went to front desk, however there was no front desk clerk as it is closed at night. So I asked to hotel staff in the office. He said the front desk clerk has gone with very rude attitude and left the office. I've got a filling "just buzz off". A few seconds later, I saw the front desk clerk and asked who the person in the office was. The clerk said he is a manager. I don't believe the person who treats customer like beggar can be a manager. I will never stay again even if it is free.

We had a room with a balcony and a beautiful view of the lake. I found this hotel to be very relaxing and it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.

I was on a business trip and stayed at Hotel Am Hoptensee for one evening.

This lovely hotel has a great scenic location, right on the lake with a view of the Alps. Unfortunately for us, the mountains were fogged in the afternoon we arrived in late October. There is a beautiful walkway around the lake and a terrific casual restaurant next door. The dining room in the hotel is rather formal, but breakfast was great and there is a cozy bar. At the time we were there, parking was so close! The hosts were helpful and gracious and the castles were just a short drive away. You are not really "in town" (Fussen) so night life is non-existent. Overall, a wonderful location, large modern room with a balcony and a view.
