Are stay at the Hilton was the holiday from hell from having no one at check in on arrival to having no house keeping to protesters screaming outside our window from 7am to 10pm , our room was over looking the lagoon and people would jump the fence and use the pools and slides during the night screaming and laughing so I assume there was no security as well , bars near the old were closed , my husband has a medical condition and I wouldn’t never have stayed if I had apocalypse knew how bad the conditions were, you had a duty of care to inform me of the circumstances, I was told at the end of my stay they wouldn’t charge the resort fee , as you know I use hotels.com a lot but I am disappointed that you didn’t inform me of the strike , bookings. Com informed there customers!

The Hilton Hawaiian Village has an ongoing (over a month) strike that the hotel neglected to make us aware of prior to arrival. They handed us a letter at check-in. The property is large, hotel is severely understaffed, and check-in is not smooth (they double charged us and lost our luggage because they checked us in at the wrong desk); apparently there’s a hotel side and a timeshare side. It is also nearly impossible to get any sheets or assistance with non-functional washer/dryers even after calling guest services hourly. Staff has been flown in and brought from other Hilton locations and are unfamiliar with this hotel and cannot help guests identify buildings or activities and many restaurants and amenities are unavailable. Yet somehow on day 2 we got a phone call trying to rope us into the timeshare talks. The one permanent hotel staff we encountered on Day 3 was clearly frustrated or overworked and was the least helpful or empathetic person we encountered. Highly disappointed with our stay and would NOT recommend anyone to stay there, at least until they resolve the strike.

There is currently a pay with cleaning staff protesting, marching & picketing outside the entrances to the Hilton Hawaiian complex. There is non stop chanting from the protestors using megaphones from 7am until 10pm. This dispute had been going on for several weeks prior to our arrival. We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club within the Hilton Hawaiian complex & the ongoing horrendous noise caused us to spend more time away from the resort than we had planned. There is no service to rooms with guests having to remove rubbish, change their own bedding linen & bath towels etc which was provided each day on trolleys on each floor. The Hotel itself was very good & the staff who were working did a great job however there was no communication prior to, or during our stay from the hotel management about the protest & there was no mention of any form of compensation to be made to guests. I was able to get the daily resort fee deducted from our total bill but I really think the Hilton should reimburse us a good portion of the cost of our total stay. Great Hotel to stay at normally but the protestors and very poor communication from Hilton Management ruined our holiday.

You cannot stay here. The hotel workers are on strike. No housekeeping, front desk service only 12pm-5pm, no pool bar, restaurants bare boned. Employees still working are unfamiliar with property (brought in to keep it running).
On top of these more minor details, the strikers mean BUSINESS. They have drums, they have megaphones, they have air horns. They chant and picket loudly from 6am-10pm at ALL public parts of the property. This means all entrances, this means the lagoon, this means the public beach that is next to the pools. You can hear them at surrounding hotels, which means right now the decibel level is untenable.
Our family made it 1 night before we realized how quiet the rest of Waikiki was.
Feel free to remove this review after the strike ends - as the property looked cool and this review is so topical. But I hope hotels.com lets this stay up while the strike is ongoing because the strike is important -- but it also seriously degrades this hotel experience -- and I want people to know.

There was a strike and we were woken up every morning at 4am. Horrible job by the Management team!

The Hilton Village has great pools for everyone. A safe lagoon for everyone and an accessible beach area from morning to night. The fireworks they put together every Friday night at 8pm is spectacular and you can enjoy it from their beach or sitting along the boardwalk by the ocean.
Only a 15 minute walk through the ocean board walk to the Waikiki strip where you can enjoy the local restaurants, cafe, shopping , shaved ice but you have everything you need at the Hilton Villlage with 2 ABCs.
You can rent a car from Enterprise at the Hilton Village at the Enterprise desk which is located infront of ABC and it’s open from 8am-12pm for you to collect your pick up reservation. You then just have to go to the parking lot right across from their office and take it to the 5th floor parking where another Enterprise attendant will set you up with your Vehichle. You can drop your car back off to this same lot too so wonderful for a day rental and you don’t need to pay for the expensive parking at all of the hotels. Easy route out of the hotel parking so you’re not stuck in the busy hotel lobby drop off area.
Great hotel if you’re visiting Hawaii for the first few times. We have stayed her 10 years in a row but we aren’t time share owners. Do some research on which tower you want to stay here. Lagoon and Rainbow and Ali Tower will have the best oven views if you book ocean front. Some towers have a kitchenette and laundry which are Lagoon, Grand Waikakian & Islander.

We had a wonderful time. Great view.
Only negative would be that the pools weren’t as good as I would have thought and super packed like sardines. Otherwise great visit.

Great stay. Walking distance to all the shopping and eating you could want. The lagoon is perfect for swimming and paddle boarding without the waves of the ocean. Free laundry which is the best thing!!!

Our main requirement was to have a one bedroom and a kitchen, The Hilton Hawaiian village met these requirements. Safety and easy beach access was another positive as well. Certain towers definitely need an update, their age is showing. The biggest negative is that if you're stsying at their "Grand Vacations" rooms, then their "timeshare" sales people will hound you into a presentation. Unfortunately, I took the time to view their pitch and it wasn't pleasant at all. They don't want you to ask any questions and if you dont buy their "timeshare" they will get very nasty. Nothing like the Hawaiian culture at all. Everything else was great, just dont waste your vacation in their pitch.

We’ve stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village a few times now. It occupies a beautiful stretch of beach and has pleasant grounds and multiple pools with a lot of nearby dining and shopping. We’ve always found the staff to be very nice. But, there are issues and they are getting worse. There is a serious pigeon problem around some of the pools and it’s not apparent that cleaning surfaces occurs daily. As for our unit, check in was quick and easy. However, the maintenance and attention to detail was lacking and the units are beyond tired. Our unit on the 21st floor of the Lagoon Tower was a one bedroom (3 of us) with a pullout sofa and full kitchen. The space was nice and the balcony was spacious with a nice view. But, almost immediately I stepped in something sticky on the carpet. Then, when we went to make up the pullout sofa we found the condition of the mattress revolting. It was heavily stained. It should have been replaced long ago. We further found our dishwasher ran but didn’t wash and the icemaker in the frig was not connected. There is one icemaker for the entire building and it’s on the third floor. The elevators are always busy and can have long wait times. At that point an ice cube tray would have been a nice amenity. Plan your check out time to allow extra time for the elevator. There were stressed out people every day trying to get down with their luggage. We’re on the fence on whether we’ll return.

Paradise! Amazing. Room needed updating but otherwise can’t go wrong the property is absolutely stunning.

The room itself was excellent! Very clean kitchen, living area and bathroom. The Toto toilet was a bonus!!
Service at check in was excellent.
Text feature made it ultra convenient to comminucate.
Cons: the pools. Overcrowded, full of sunscreen milky water, hog cheese people that leave their stuff all over the chaise chairs make it impossible to get a seat. Better management of releasing unused chairs (like at other resorts) would be great!
A taxi almost ran me over by Kalia tower as he was speeding through :( I was on the sidewalk, geez

Hilton is an okay place to stay but just around the corner there is a better hotel. Which includes club access so you have free breakfast. This Hilton location does not have the breakfast options and you have a kitchen to cook your own meal. So if you don’t mind going to a grocery store then sure! But for our stay we wanted access to food already prepared. It was not available. The room is renovated so that was good. You could walk to places to dine in but nothing was good. The only place that we enjoyed was Lapperts Ice cream. All the restaurants on this hotel grounds was over priced and not good. Portions were tiny. It’s not worth it staying here for the rate they charge, when it’s not so accommodating. I’d rather stay at Prince Waikiki hotel next time. I don’t ever plan on booking a room here EVER again and I live on the island. This was a staycation. Not worth it. If I could get a refund I would ask for one. But of course no refunds so I am here letting people know that there are better deals
And hotel rooms are way nicer than staying here.

The area of this hotel had everything! Beach, pools, restaurants, ice cream and all our daily needs. So nice to just walk out the door and be where you want to be.

The room was super comfortable. The staff were extemely polite. Lots of amenities at the resort: starbucks, restaurants, clothing stores, souvenir stores, ABC stores, etc. The gym was awesome!
Downfalls:
-our flight arrived late and we were so hungry. Everything was closed. One vending machine for the entire resort!
-pricey, as expected, but some things were outrageously priced. E.g. parking was $70 USD daily.

It was a nice place to stay I was a little disappointed by the view I thought we were getting ocean view but not really only if you stand one the balcony and crane your neck to one side. But staff was nice and helpful and room was as clean as could be for an older property. Elevators were small and slow.

unacceptable. first of all the whole apartment smelled like sewer the whole time we were there and backed up poop smell. very poor condition everything in the apartment is falling apart including the fact that the plugs are unsafe and falling apart. also the fact that they charged me for ocean view but got tree view. unacceptable will not book threw them again complete scam also at checkout for resort fees and parking
4.0 / 5.0
Hilton Village is the staple of what vacation should look like. However, ocean view that we thought we were getting was on 4th floor, obstructed view with palm trees. Had we known in advance, we would have booked higher floor in another building within Hawaiian village. They changed us to another room less obstructive view of ocean. It was good they did something about it. But Expedia saying what we were getting is the ocean view is confusing esp when we paid $4,500 for only five nights (2bd & 2 bath.) otherwise the rooms were good.

It had a ton to offer, the property was a perfect size with plenty of shopping and dining without feeling too large or crowded. The beach was great, the gym great, the staff great!
My only complaints were that the pools were very cold - the ocean was warmer - and the ridiculous charges for beach lounge chairs and umbrellas! For the resort fees we pay, they should be included! That was a huge turnoff.

The Hilton had everything you could possibly want from shopping, restaurants, convenience stores, souvenir shops. The property itself was very clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay again in the heartbeat.
