We had a great stay.

Like historical property.like Reception staff, particularly Lynn. Very helpful.
Suggestions: 1. For safety, a grab bar in every shower. 2. A bound book or binder in each room with all the background of the property (woth color photos) instead of just on copy paper. This could also include amenities and where to find them as well as pictures of the paintings/wall hangings and info about them. I assume some of the portraits were related to the history. 3. The elevator door tracks are in desperate need of cleaning and polishing. As a retired property manager and owner, I know the value of first impressions. Brass should shine!
Overall, a pleasant experience and I would stay again.

This is a very unique hotel with history to the town. I am glad I finally got a chance to stay here. It was everything I imagined.

Decorah is beautiful and we had a great weekend. The hotel is well located, but…our room had stained carpeting, burned out light bulb above vanity, rude bartender. I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

My husband and I liked the beautiful interior of the restored building very much. However $250 for the night seemed very expensive especially with only a continental breakfast.

This was a decent stay. Check in was super quick, almost like hurried us out of there. Hotel itself is nice tho we found the bed to be pretty uncomfortable. Nice area - walkable around town and to the trail system. Overall a decent stay for the price.

My wife and I wanted a short get-away in the driftless area, Decorah is the perfect place to visity. The hotel is beautiful: stately, classy, and yet down to earth and mid-west friendly. Perfect location to explore shops and restaurants.

The Hotel Winneschiek is a classic, historical hotel right in downtown Decorah. It's always a please to stay there as I have on many occasions.

Very historic hotel in beautiful Norwegian-American community which celebrates its heritage. The Norwegian Immigrant's Museum was fantastic. There is a waterfall and an ice cave nearby. The hotel bar had a nice selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. Overall a charming boutique hotel with friendly, courtesy and professional staff.

The hotel was so historic and beautiful. The room was very large and comfortable. Parking, the check-in process, and the lobby bar and breakfast area were amazing. There was so much to do in the downtown area within walking distance. Great experience!

The ambiance was wonderful , with its early 1900s aesthetic . Real carved solid wood everywhere, Mirrors and paintings, a nice lounge. I posted pictures and immediately got positive responses from friends. The entrances are inviting and the staff very friendly . I come from Fargo-Moorhead where downtown buildings were lost to fire or 'urban renewal'. So nice to see preservation.

This place was a step back in time, in a good way! For the price of a cookie cutter hotel, you get a beautiful piece of history. Room was clean and comfortable, staff was amazing. Sounds like I don't even need to recommend it to my friends - they all knew!

Hotel Winneshiek is beautiful, well maintained and extremely clean. Built in the early 1900's. Lots of charm.

If you come to Decorah, you need to stay at Hotel Winneshiek. It's right in downtown Decorah where the shopping and food is easy to walk to. The hotel may be old but it has a lot of character and much closer than the other hotels/motels. The morning breakfast is great with pre-made croissants with fruit, yogurt, breakfast bars, coffee/tea, etc available. The bar was fun and the staff was personable. We'll come back to Hotel Winneshiek the next time.

Very nice area and close to the business and places in town

The Expedia description is a little off. The “King Executive Suite” is just a bed room with a king bed. Nothing suite or executive about it. Front desk dude blamed Expedia on description. We even asked if we had the correct room. Nothing to complain about. Nice, historic hotel within walking of cute downtown. Very friendly bartender and bar.
