Room was filthy and disgusting did not stay the night

No deadbolt on door, bathroom door did not close, tv did not work, bed squeeked when you move.

I didn’t stay there because it was more of a homeless shelter than a vacation spot.

Every part of this property is ready for a wrecking ball. Shame on Econo Lodge for putting their name on this place and shame on Hotels.com for including it in their listings. The beds were sparsely made with only a thin blanket over the sheets, which were stained. The blankets had burn holes in them. No extra bedding was provided. The bathroom door was off its hinges and leaning against the closet bar. It showed signs of rot. Only two thread-bare towels and one stained wash cloth were provided. The lamp shades were dented and still wrapped in plastic. The tv remotes did not work, and the tv lacked several of it's manual buttons. The walkway outside the rooms is canted and feels likely to rot away in the next few years. Walking down the hall, we could see into another room that looked as though it had been tossed, presumably by investigators. This was a horrible stay. Hotels.com should have an energy number to assist guests who find themselves tricked into booking in a place like this. I will spend the next few days worrying that we brought home vermin.

The property did not have the amenities that were advertised. The pool was non-functional, the free breakfast is no longer offered, and we couldn’t even get ice at the main office. The nightly rate was higher than anticipated and the bathroom light switches, doors and molding were very stained and dirty. There are more updated properties in the area. Don’t let the discounted price lure you in.

When we arrived, we saw people actively doing drugs outside of their rooms. At check-in, the owner sneezed into their hands and then touched all of our stuff like keys and paperwork, so we decided not to check in. We lost over $150 on our booking just to not stay here.

Room was falling apart and there were rats in the dumpster across from our room.

Not up to code. Old-needs help.

Booked by accident and would not refund me and manager was very disrespectful

Many people appearing to be on drugs linger around the property at all hours. In the room, there was hair in the shower that had not been cleaned. TV was all static.

Hotel undergoing renovation of rooms but our room not completed. Sheets and pillowcases were stained. Bedspread had holes in it. Noisy room heater.

Clean quiet and affordable place with a friendly staff.
Small critique: put a small shelf in the shower for shampoo/soap etc.

This hotel is disgusting. Bugs everywhere, dirty, and there wasn’t even a door knob on the bathroom.

We hadn’t read the other reviews until it was too late. The furnishings were outdated, but I expected that at a budget motel. However the bathroom had mold around the top of the walls. I guess the cleaning people don’t reach that high. Half of the towel bar was missing, the pieces under the sink. There were small holes in the walls where I presume pictures used to hang, based on the dirty outlines on the walls.
Although the signs say “No Smoking, except on designated areas”, people were smoking everywhere, including outside our door. I was hesitant to say anything, because most of them were unsavory characters. I had read in a review that homeless people were staying there; so, it made sense.
The front desk was unstaffed. We had to wait five minutes for someone to come to the desk to check us in. We waited ten minutes for someone to come to check out. While waiting for someone to come to check us out, I saw a note on the counter that someone had left saying that they couldn’t wait any longer to check out and to send them their receipt.
I took pictures which I will send to Choice Hotels so they can see for themselves.

Messy parking lot with strange people milling about. Check in was a problem since desk personnel did not recognize my two room reservations using my two confirmation numbers. I finally realized the problem was I put one room in my son-in-laws name and staff could only find room under names not confirmation numbers. Owners are trying to fix up property but have a way to go. They are trying however and eventually property should be in better shape.

FRIENDLY CLEAN AND QUITE

The front desk personnel were nice and the water in the shower was hot, but everything else was shocking. The room reaked of cigarette smoke, the were random holes in the wall and doors, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and no trash cans in the room.

Booked it mainly because they said they had breakfast but they didn’t.

Ok. So i usually dont pay attention to re iews and prefer to make my own judgment. In this case, I would have been better off relying on the reviews and gone somewhere else. In all my years of travel, and i have been traveling a lot for the past 30 years due to my job, this has to have been the singularly worst place I've ever stayed, and ive stayed at some pretty run down places. Not only was it dirty, unkempt, and poorly maintained, the bed was probably from the original hotel in 1950s, and had the lump in the middle and drooping edges to prove it. The shower...words cannot even describe it...and photos certainly dont do it justice. Too bad i can use smell-o-vision...that would totally complete the picture. And for suchva nice little small town like Brattleboro, I didnt feel safe here...and I've never experienced that before.
DO NOT STAY HERE. EVER.

Got in late and was made to feel like “how dare I check in late”. Room smelled like old smoke. No toilet, didn’t matter there was no toilet paper. Pillows and sheet seemed dirty. Unlocked windows. TV was broken and remote didn’t match. Hate these places because I always fell nervous I’ll be charged for what I walk into. You think $120 would get you the bare minimum. Disgusted by this place and definitely not recommended.

Website indicate breakfast include. No breakfast. Also no ice either. They indicate all ice machine were broken. Got there & TV not working well. Cable giy came in then electric went out. Not sure how long we left to get dinner. Was told at check in internet was not working. Worst place we ever stayed at.

The guy at the front desk was rude and mean to me. Very unprofessional. The room was so dirty and poorly kept up that we didn’t even stay the night. We left at midnight and drove the 3.5 hours home.

The room was literally falling apart. Holes in the wall, a wheel missing from the rolling chair, food residue on the sink, and floors were filthy. Stay away

When i got in my room is wrenk of urine. I looked around. You can tell there was an infestation of bed bug and the walls were dirty the blankets where nasty. due to the fact that i was exhuasted from being on the road for 12 hours driving and that was the only unbooked hotel that was available. After asking for new blankets and sheets i was told that inventory was low and they couldn't give new blankets and sheets and that they try to insure me the sheets was clean i recorded a video of the property and took pictures of the blankets and sheet. When you sit on the bed it had a smell to it that was unidentified and most likely its due to no bed upgrades in years. I didnt even take a shower and becaue of how the bathroom was. I had to use air fresher to be okay to stay i slept sitting up and only slept for a few hours and left immediately. I want a full refund. I just got home from being on the road and wanted to give my full input on this hotel that needs to not be advertised on website for an option untill upgrades are made. You clealy can see what they use the money is on cameras and toliets everything else is gone to sh**.
Thaks for listening

The mattress sank toward the middle. Needs replacing. No iron, no Kleenex, and little coffee, even though there was a coffee maker. Probably won't stay there again.

This has to be the worst motel/hotel that I have ever stayed at. I arrived late and had a non-refundable deposit so no alternatives. I was placed in a section (room # 124) of the motel that appeared to provide rooms for those in need (i.e. homeless). The exterior door jam had been forcibly opened and had extensive damage. The bathroom door jam had also been forcibly opened and had extensive damage. The chair in the room was long overdue for replacement. Bed comfort was okay but very noisey during movement. Bed cover (bedspread) was too small for the bed. Overall appearance/condition of interior walls was not good. Website information was erroneouse - there was no wi-fi, no restaurant, no breakfast, no internet, no cable TV, and regular, local TV stations not available. Booked property through Expedia. If this is an example of properties they offer for lodging, I will never make bookings again through that organization.

The place is a DIVE! Do not stay there! On line it said pool and breakfast, we get there and there is a big sign in the office that says "Due to COVID the pool and breakfast are closed! What the heck? The people in the office were nice but the place is terrible. Our room smelled, only a sheet on the bed, the shower was a cubicle, windows were filthy. I even took pictures because we could not believe it. We paid ahead on line so we could not get our money back! I am angry with Expedia also, apparently they don't check out the hotels they have on line or know that they have shut things down! We paid 186.00, for that nite, it should of been 18.00 with the condition of the place. Will NOT make this mistake again!!!

This Econo Lodge was DISCUSTING - 515 Canal Street, Brattleboro, VT
Mold in bathrooms, dirty and falling apart flooring, dirty seats, dirty sheets.
I would like to send someone some pictures of this hotel. We only stayed there because it was too late to cancel the reservation, and there were not other hotels available at such short notice. It was disgusting and I'm lookin for a refund on this. we booked through Expedia, but regardless of where we booked, the hotel was gross and disgusting. Dirty walls, the bathroom shower was moldy and dirty. I don't mind old, but this was beyond old and anything reasonable for a hotel room.

TV had no news channels. Heater didn’t work and there were no extra blankets. Wiring was faulty, room needed paint and furniture needed replacing. At least the bed was comfortable and the sheets appeared to be clean. There was nowhere else to stay or we wouldn’t have stayed there and it was late at night.

The entire place is run down and in poor conditions. My room was not cleaned and i should not have to worry about things like this because they need to take better care of their property

About what you would expect, but Brattleboro is an awesome place downtown. Don't judge the area by the Econo lodge property or reviews.
