Great hotel, brilliant location just over a mile from the town centre. Very friendly staff and good food.

Really enjoyed my stay here, a long weekend break on my motorcycle to attend the armistice commemorations in Ypres and visit sites around the area. From arrival the staff were great, finding somewhere secure to park my motorbike and dealing with a failed remote on the tv. Room was large and basic with nowhere to put clothes away, but plenty of space to put them on the spare beds. It is a decent walk into town (about 20 minutes) and that was fine for me. Not many amenities around the hotel, but it has a great bar and restaurant on site. Breakfast was a mix of cold and hot buffet and well worth the cost. All things considered I would recommend the Flanders Lodge to anyone wanting decent accommodation with off street parking close to Ypres but not in the centre.

The water Was horrible. After shower your skin was greasy. The taste was the worse ever…
The internet connection was very low. Not recommendable for business trip.

On arrival at the hotel we squeezed into the very last parking space which we were grateful to get as there is no where else to park as far as we could tell. Although very basic, our room was nice and clean. We had understood the included breakfast would be a lot better than we received, but it was adequate. It is well positioned for a short drive into the centre of Ypres even though based in an industrial area of the town. The Flanders Lodge hotel was fine for an overnight stay, but I am glad we had not booked longer.

Good for what it was intended for. Clean, friendly staff and good beds. Boring surroundings though, industrial business area. No good for dog walking.
And somewhat too far from city centre for easy access, 20-30 minutes walking.

Check out at noon, but cleaners woke me up at 10 and 11...

Positives - Walking distance to Ypres, with free parking, best breakfast on our trip
Negatives - popular with coach parties, in this instance 2 coaches of children, so quite noisy, they did go quiet around 10.30pm but we're being woken up from 7am onwards. Other than that no negatives with the accommodation.

Our first impressions weren’t great. The rather grumpy bloke on reception insisted we weren’t booked. However, after we insisted we were he eventually found us. The hotel is a bit like a hostel with big groups booked in. Our first night was disturbed by a party of school kids running amok until midnight. No teachers in sight. The second night was the best nights sleep I ever had with a much more well behaved school party on site.
The bedroom was spotless and bed was huge and very comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and shower amazing. Breakfast had a great choice of hot and cold and was constantly being refreshed. Bar was reasonable and a relaxing space.
The hotel was attractive and clean and great for a couple of nights. We would definitely stay again. Just be aware that the annex is more like a youth hostel with coach loads of kids. I suppose it depends on school staff whether they behave or not!
We drove into Ypres and parked for free near the Menin Gate. Very easy.

Lovely quiet location on the edge of town. Friendly welcome on arrival and in the bar. Good selection of beers available. Room layout felt a little bit strange and dark, but it was OK. Great shower. Window had no security unless it was completely shut, so I had to sleep with window shut as I was on the ground floor. Fantastic breakfast

Bathroom was smelly. Water stinked. We had reservations for 3 people, there was 3 beds but only two towels. Internet was very sketchy.

Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good sized rooms, well equipped. A little lighting in carpark would give the 5th star.

We were very pleasantly delighted with our stay at The Flanders Lodge.
We had just come from a stay at a 4star hotel in Holland which we have used several times and this time we very disappointed with it.
So, we were somewhat anxious as to what we would experience at The Flanders Lodge. However, it exceeded all expectations and it was an absolute pleasure. Would definitely stay again.

Great for a short stay in Ypres. You can walk to town in about 20 minutes. The breakfast was really good, lots of options for cooked and continental. The hotel was spotless. Only downside is the location, at the end of an industrial estate, but once you're there it's quite green and you don't notice this.

Rooms were quite nice and were quiet. Wifi seemed spotty which was a bit of a pain. We hit a day that the weather was not great but I would have loved to sit on the patio out front with a drink. In a bit of a commercial area and a bit of a drive to the main part of the town (5 minutes but would be a quite far walk). Very nice place.

Very nice place. Friendly staff and a good breakfast. English TV was refreshing after recent trips to Germany and France. Really handy for downtown but not really walkable.

Had a spacious, clean room which was serviced every day. Great breakfasts and free on-site parking. Took around 25 minutes to walk to the Menin Gate from the hotel.

Traffic was bad so called as only 30 mins to end of check in. Got through to a very un professional lady who sounded like a night club was in the background. She took an age to tell me I didn’t have a reservation punctuated with several ‘oh god’ comments. Finally she found my booking and said I need not of phoned as the bar opened to 11am.On arrival at nearly 10pm we parked in a muddy car park with no lighting at all. The main entrance was surrounded by men smoking. No one was on reception and a woman eventually came out of the bar, asked our name and handed over the room key! No passport check or Covid check. No visible Covid measures. On going to our room the men that had been outside were lining the corridor. For the next couple of hours they were walking up and down the corridor, talking and going in and out of rooms. The room was very basic, the furniture tatty. The tea cups were barely bigger than egg cups and only two coffee creamers supplied with several t bags and coffee sachets. The beds were clean and fairly comfortable. The supplied towels were barely t towel size and the body/hair wash in the shower had been severely watered down. Breakfast was luke warm but choice acceptable. There was water leaking through the ceiling in the dining room in two places. The hotel was in the middle of an industrial estate. Did not feel comfortable with the surroundings and found the whole experience unprofessional.
