Central location on high st. Staff were super friendly. Breakfast was satisfying.
4.3
Really good stay but maintenance work needed to be done
4.3
Nice area of Bristol and enjoyed my room view onto the park.
4.3
Pleasant staff and nice clean room and comfortable beds
4.3
The room was snall and extremely hot. No air conditioning. Was provided with a fan tgat had to be let on all night a d still tge room was uncomfortable. Breakfast consisted of a few ftuit juices water, ti. Tinned peaches, tinned grapefruit and tinned cherries. Selection of cereals along with over ripe tangerines and bananas. The only warm option on offer was toast.
In adfition my room was shabby and uncomfortable.
I would not recommend this hotel.

Perfect location for the Marlowe theatre and the centre of Canterbury. Lovely bar
4.3
This hotel was a heaven send. It was the nicest hotel on our entire trip. Clean. Neat. Scenic. In a great location. If i am ever in Canterbury again, i will stay here.
4.3
This is a relatively old style hotel, but staff were absolutely fantastic, helping me sort out phone issues etc. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast, and I was not expecting to have breakfast.
The building is really well located in a buzzing part of town, but probably is in need of a bit of a refurb. I was a bit pissed to care!!
4.3
Tiny single room, with no chair, but good ensuite with bath and shower.
Very noisy, with people noisily passing by right outside the room, with a door banging constantly, until late at night. Paper thin walls - man in next room was snoring all night very audibly.
Too expensive for such a small room.
Tables in breakfast room very obviously hadn't been wiped properly on both my mornoings - sticky ring marks everywhere.
4.3
The room was fine - but the window only opened 2 inches and the room was really hot. Made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep as it was so hot.
4.3
This hotel is very quaint and comfortable. Our room was very small and we had to walk up two flights of very narrow stairs, however the building is from the 16th century and it is in the description. The location is perfect, its about a 10 minute walk from Canterbury West and is right by the high street.

Central to city centre
4.3
Great location. Walk straight out to high st and 2 minutes from cathedral. Had to park in one of car parks 5 minutes walk away as none close. 2.70 hour or at hotel £14 gives you 24 hours and can drive in and out of carpark as much as you like.
Lovely spacious rooms
4.3
A very convenient hotel for Canterbury city centre and only 30 yards from the Marlow theatre. Reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The building is hundreds of years old and as expected the stairs to the upper floors need to be taken with care & there did not appear to be a lift.
Our room was clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities. One small addition would be a hand held shower hose in addition to the ceiling unit above the bath. We will certainly stay again.
4.3
Staff were really helpful, polite.
The hotel was a beautiful old building.
My room was to the front and there was a bit of noise from people passing late at night and vans early in the morning. Might disturb persons who are light sleepers
Really nice hotel and modern bar. Breakfast was a good selection continental
4.3
Great centrally located hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Good continental breakfast. Steep narrow stairs (expected in old buildings). I would definitely recommend.
4.3
Staff were lovely 👍
Nice continental breakfast 😋
4.3
Room was small, but we were aware of this when booking. Only place to sit was on the bed. Not an issue if you are out all day.
Staff excellent and very friendly.
Adequate continental breakfast.
Would certainly use the hotel in the future.
4.3
The young woman on reception was excellent. Super helpful.
4.3
Fairly basic hotel, but clean and a decent breakfast. For what I paid entirely fair.
4.3
Nice place to stay in the town but quiet. Friendly staff but only 1 person on duty at a time doing everything. Bath was too small to use, room was dusty and found it very odd that you only had a single chair in the room for 2 guests. Room and bathroom were small, but overall a comfortable stay
4.3
Very happy with the venue but was disappointed that I was not given the option of registering my car for parking and so had to pay a hefty parking charge on return to my car.
4.3
I booked the cheapest room, it was small but cosy on this cold December night. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless so was very pleased. Breakfast included was continental and a very nice buffet was laid out with lots of different food to choose from. Staff were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Overall great value, enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.

A warm welcome and very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Excellent selection for breakfast.

Very buce

This is an old hotel located in the center of Canterbury - very close to everything. The narrow stairs are a bit of a challenge, but the room was very nice.
4.3
Highly recommended. The staff were so helpful and breakfast was wonderful.
4.3
Very nice rooms.
4.3
There is no elevator, the stairs are narrow, and it is inconenient to luggage upstairs, but the waiters are very friendly.
4.3
Absolutely great experience while im staying, good location(middle of city centre), quality of service nice and quick and you will satisfy with breakfast in here
4.3
A wonderful breakfast and a helpful staff.
4.3
The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Truly wonderful. If you need somewhere to stay in Canterbury the Pilgrim is for you. Its in the centre not close to it. It is the centre. Opposite the Theatre. Just a short walk from the Cathedral and dozens of pubs; cafes and restaurants. Great staff. Whats not to like.
4.3
Very conveniently located and only short distances to most of the sites of Canterbury. Be aware there is no hot food available but a good continental breakfast is. Very helpful staff. Car parking is a few minutes walk away and when we stayed (June 2023) it cost £14 for 24hrs. Nice places to eat and drink nearby.
4.3
It’s not just a location which is amazing, it’s straight up everything about this hotel. Laundry service which doesn’t cost you an arm & a leg which is almost always a case in hotels - is a huge plus. And a strong wifi signal adds a lot of value.
4.3
Positives: great location, good value for money, ok breakfast. Negatives: very noisy at night
4.3
The hotel is in a great location.
4.3
Very central location, good for walking to everything but that comes with lots of noise, especially at night with bars close by. No air conditioning, and sleeping with the windows open isn’t an option. The building is wrapped with scaffolding so we had no view and the first day there was banging and workers walking past our window. We asked the hotel not to pre-charge our credit card because of the poor exchange but they charged our full stay the day before we arrived. The room (#5) on the top floor, up narrow and steep stairs, was adequate but there was a terrible smell coming from the plumbing in the bathroom - so bad we slept with that door closed. The pillows were thin slabs of foam. The staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast is perfectly adequate. They offered toast which was a nice touch. The inside renovations they are doing to the lobby and the bar are lovely so maybe one day the room will be improved but we would not stay here again.
4.3
This hotel had something we lacked in other hotels, water pressure! We would wash our hair and have a nice shower.
We slept as logs even though the bed was only 140 and we shared the duvet.
And the breakfast was really good, much more than we expected. Lots of friendly faces and service-minded personnel!
The location very central!
We'll be back!

Lovely characterful property in a great location just off the main shopping street and a 5 minute walk to the cathedral. We paid for parking through the hotel at an off site car park. Friendly helpful staff. Our room was quiet as it was towards the back of the hotel.
