The historical aspect of the property was lovely. However, there is no lift in the hotel, so if you have dodgy knees etc try and get a low floor room.
Whilst our room had a lovely view, the room was dirty. The sheet on our bed had dirt, black hair and other stuff on it. When we showed reception the photo they we not interested. Had wanted to stay there for years. Wouldn’t again.

This place is emerged in history and scenery. It’s got a great feel and the staff are very engaging. I loved the restaurant and high tea experience. Great location for a girls weekend away or a romantic weekend.

Avoid unless you want to be ripped off.

Great place to stay for a relaxed getaway. You can read by the fire, enjoy the amazing views or eat and drink excellent food and wines. The staff are helpful and professional.

Due to heavy duty road works the property is suffering with mud around. I was never advised about the state of the area. The room is quite small for king bed. I had to duck to get to my side of bed.

We had a wonderful experience at check in. We were disappointed in the property not having lifts. If we had known this with my over 80yo parents we probably wouldn’t have stayed. The rooms were very small with no view. The breakfast service was terrible and a very long wait for eggs or omlettes (about 30 mins). We would not stay here again. For the price it was not worth it at all.

Great old world charm.

We were really looking forward to staying here as I had been to the afternoon tea in the past and the area is beautiful. The rooms are small and outdated, but are fairly clean. The staff were rude, specifically the front desk staff, which made the experience unpleasant. The rooms are too small to have a meal in your room and there is no where to eat on the property if you have any outside food. When asking the front desk if there was a place to sit together with other family members staying in other rooms the Indian lady at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful and at first told us we could not sit anywhere other than our rooms and then changed her mind and told us we needed to buy two beers to sit anywhere on the property other than our rooms. She made our whole experience with this hotel unpleasant.

Congratulations on refurbishing this impressive part of NSWs modern history. You should be commended in your continued maintenance of a property that has such old world charm - That will continue to take huge efforts on your part: loved the special touches (even heated bathroom floors)
It would be beneficial if it was highlighted that the private hiking tracks are no longer accessible to the guests

Dinner and breakfast were great. Dinner service was of a very high standard, a real treat and lovely wines to suit.

The property was beautiful and the history was very interesting. We enjoyed are stay very much. It would have been nice to have more choices in dining options. The one choice was very expensive.

Great views of the Megalong Valley. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was a classis, being brought back to its former gloryies and a very classy venue.
I small item, they played a fairly small looped music throughout the hotels main areas, both morning and evening. Needs to be more varied.

The hotel itself is nostalgic with areas and features that are reminders of times gone by. The breakfast in the dining room completes the experience. I Choose a room with a view, otherwise street noise and freight trains going past all night will disturb your sleep. Hot water pressure is inadequate during peak times, eg morning before breakfast; it may be worse in the higher floors. Would not be coming back in a hurry.

Helpful staff. Terrific location. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Blue Mountains. Beautiful hotel.

Very cool and nice old building. Construction out front and very limited parking makes getting luggage to the room, especially without a trolley, very difficult. The room was very clean, but very small. Overall, not great for the price, but great for nostalgia.

I would have loved to go on the deck outside the bar area - the view is magnificent but it was not accessable.

Has seen better days. Not very user friendly with some floors accessible by stairs only. Newly painted rooms. Bathrooms in desperate need of refurbishing, old plumbing that smells, aged tiles, taps etc. Furniture in room has stains.
The beds are comfortable, they have blackout curtains and aircon. Woken up by staff trying to enter room(!!)
Would we stay again, probably not.

In booking the property one should be told that there is major construction surrounding the property! We also paid extra for our room so we had a view of the valley, which we did, however it was a single window it that was dirty! We also had reserved a king bed but were given a queen! All in all not the stay we had envisioned!

Rooms were decorated to the era of the original hotel style. Bathroom were clean, hot water pressure was low.
Views were lovely. Staff were polite and accommodating. Good was proportion size, cooked well. Parking was limited due to road works but sufficient on ground parking.

We stayed overnight in a heritage view room. The room definitely had the view and was clean and comfy. They are heritage rooms do a bit smaller but everything was there we needed. There is a lot of roadwork occurring just now outside the property but once inside this isn’t a problem.

Pretty overpriced for what is available and what was on offer. Basically a room with a view and that's it. Not bad at all, just not worth the price

Quiet, peaceful with beautiful scenery

The hydro seems to have lost its charm and become more commercial. To not have guest checked in in that grand entrance and routed to the side bar was disappointing.

Felt very special in the beautiful art deco filled public areas & loved the amazing views over the valley from a comfortable lounge seat. Loved the soft, large & cosy bed & privacy of our room. The Pavilion was a nostalgic bonus & great for a lazy afternoon & soaking up the valley views outdoors.

What a maze.
1. The hotel check-in desk is tuck away to one side of the building. 2. Due to road works the entry into the hotel car park is not clear. 3. Needed to walk though a wedding reception and kitchen to get to my hotel room from where I checked in.

We only stayed 1 night, but next time it will be for at least 3 nights. There is so much to see and take in, you need 3 nights. The history here is amazing.
Our Barman, (James), who I called Lloyd, (from the barman in the Stephen King book 'The Shining', was a wealth of knowledge.
Our meal at the 'Woodcut', was first class.
We will be back here to stay in the near future.

The hotel and service is excellent but the room condition is a bit older style.

This iconic property remains as a memorable stopping point overlooking the Jamison Valley. Luckily we were able to see the valley as the early fog cleared off. We were upgraded to a room viewing the valley due to noise on the road side from construction.

Fantastic views, excellent staff. A truly memorable experience
