Older hotel. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Conveniently located. However, shower curtain mounted inside a beam, making the shower very narrow. Curtain sticks to you. Hotel sits atop a decent hill. No a/c in some rooms.

Great hotel nearby downtown Queenstown!

Great location - just 5 min from the lake and everything. Outdated and some things are not clean - just ok. Overall its ok for the location for a family room.

Heartland Hotel is a lovely property set on the slope overlooking Lake Wakatipu. The chalet room is wonderful and spacious with quiet surroundings. It is about 5 mins walk to the main town with shopping and eateries. It’s a nice spot to stay in Queenstown.

Property is a bit old but we loved it and would stay there again.

The facility was very nice. The room was a bit "tired". Needing some updating. Though is was very clean.
The reception area was very nice, and employees outstanding.

Bathrooms in family rooms quite small and in desperate need of renovation. Family room 2 floor set up quite good. Not enough chairs around table, only 3 chairs, one of which was broken. Not enough cutlery and no sharp knives, small things but hospitality basics that they seemed to miss.

The friendly staff allowed us to check in earlier as our room was ready. The location is great just a short walk into town

There were some signs of neglect in the room, but overall a very cool prroperty in a very convenient location!

Heartland Hotel was a fantastic value option for accommodation and we did get what we expected. Our Chalet room was warm, dry and well equipped however the age was starting to show with chips and cracks on the walls and the single pane windows did certainly let in some road noise as we were right by it (Room 110)
Overall, we got what we paid for and it did what we needed it to, not disappointed or satisfied.

Was a great central location and overall lovely accommodation. Other than the bathroom in our unit needing some upgrades.

Very clean and tidy albeit a little dated in the bathroom facilities in my room. Room was nice and warm and good parking.

Beds & pillows need replacing. Very bad night sleep when bed is so soft and pillows are very thin. Even adding towels under the pillows didnt help. Such a shame cause everything else was as expected.

Great rooms for a reasonable price. But god helpvyou if you show up with your own vehicle. Parking options are scarce and the whole area is single lane.

Close to the CBD, shops, Queenstown Gardens, and Lake Wakatipu. Convenient due to the location. Can be hard to get a carpark as it’s first in first served.

The view from the room was nothing short of magnificent. The kind of picturesque scenery you imagine in the movies. The room itself was very nicely put together, and a super comfy bed. Everything you need.
Word of warning however. It has free parking for guests, but set your expectations to not actually find parking. There’s space for about 30 cars. Given that there are some 80 rooms, if you return after 5pm, be prepared to park up to a mile away & face very hilly walks. Far from ideal

Very convenient location, good value for money, the parking was a bit annoying though.

We had a lovely stay, the chalet king view room was very nice! Bathrooms could do with a redo, the staff were very friendly & helpful, dinning room was very good

Just great!

We enjoyed our stay at Heartlands and the room was comfortable. Some low points were
- our room had an allocated carpark in front of our unit, though as we didnt have a car there were multiple cars parked literally right outside our door which felt a bit intrusive.
- My allergies were set off as there was quite alot of settled dust on some fixtures
- the curtain was hanging off the rail and didnt quite close
- there was a large gap in the front door which felt a bit drafty
- the bathroom was quite dated and well worn
I would stay here again as it was a nice experience, there are just some maintenance issues that could be addressed.

The hotel was great although if you have room 802 you can hear the lift which woke us a few times. We didn’t use the restaurant or bar but looked very nice.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast at the adjacent restaurant was tasty. Rooms dated but clean and beds comfortable. Bathrooms in need of major overhaul as they were musty/moldy and unpleasant.

In brief: Hot water ran out, shabby bathroom with hole in the floor and rooms weren’t interconnected.
We chose to book two rooms at the end of a family cycling trip and requested interconnecting rooms. This was confirmed when we booked and again when we arrived. However the rooms were adjacent but not connected. The hot water ran out after one shower. There was a hole in the bathroom floor and the toilet cistern jammed and looked like someone had taken a belt sander to it. On the plus side the beds were super comfy. We were told the hot water ran out because it was a busy time and we could shower in the gym. Not good enough in a hotel. I’ve stayed in hostels and caravan parks and never had this problem before. The staff were apologetic but didn’t do anything to make up for our inconvenience. I guess since we were only staying one night we weren’t a priority. It is also a fairly noisy place as the rooms open to the outside with car parking and comings and goings all around.

The place looks tired and old. It was not value for money we paid. Especially we paid less at other locations and had better facilities. Only positive was location to central Queenstown.

The hotel is comfortable, staff are fantastic, rooms are dated and old but clean…ish (bathroom needs love)
