It started with drunk native people outside and inside.
The receptionist was rude. Everything old and smells. Room had no lights. I had use my flashlight to go to bathroom. Whole was there I noticed the shower is dirty. I grabbed my stuff and left without even asking a refund.
It’s disgusting. Looks like a shelter.

Desk staff friendly and professional. Elevator a little slower

Loved the space and location of the hotel. Breakfast was amazing at the restaraunt!
Did not like the mandatory clientelle often visibly under substance influence. It is a pity, and not a fault of owners.

Could use an updating. Ceiling fans don't seem to work. Air conditioner in bedroom did not work.

The history of the Prince Author Hotel was interesting.

I just had a great stay at the Prince Arthur! Is the hotel older? Yes but it has tons of character. Are there odd people hanging around outside? Yes, but security is there and I was never bothered by any of them. The staff were friendly and greeted myself and my dog like long lost friends. The waterfront area across from the hotel is beautiful and very walkable. The room was nice, clean and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, a great stay.

Waterfront view was a plus-but the first person I met at the front desk (Marcie) was rude and not helpful-even the next day when I asked about a coffee shop close by-she said there was nothing yet I found a lovely place 2 blocks away.
The construction didn’t help but that’s not their fault.

Great park and walking paths by the water. Roads under construction. Many homeless. Hotels has security and needs it. Watched someone try to get into our car.

We are grateful to the restaurant staff for their kindness when we came in, tired and hungry, ten minutes before their closing time. They made us feel welcome and were friendly and cheerful. Thank you!

There is so much history here. Rooms were updated, spacious and clean. Some street construction going on, so be creative when you get close.
We walked around outside in the evening, down to the marina, skate park and park. Lots of people around of all types, but felt safe. Good lemonade and ice cream.
We paid more for the harbor view, and it was worth it. Loved the sunrise over the sleeping giant.

Very very old building. Staff was super friendly. Water pressure sucked and couldn’t get warm water, it was either really hot or freezing cold

We checked in and police were in the parking lot , not a good first impression. Constant noise from the parking lot, police again, train going by in wee hrs of morning, old blg needs update. The waterfront is beautiful BUT the hotel and people in the area made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe on what was our first vacation together. Would not recommend this hotel.

We had gone to this hotel before over the years. It has character built 2019.

Both elevators were broken.

Had to be shown three different rooms before settling on one because the rooms were so dirty and had a very musty smell. Mostly the bedskirts on the beds were filthy. I understand the hotel is old, but it definitely needs to be shut down for a few weeks and have a good cleaning overhaul.

This is an older hotel with lots of history and character. The view of the harbour was incredible

Curtains did not close properly. Need clothes pins to keep them closed.
Window A/C was real noisy. Had to shut it off.
Breakfast was fabulous.Service was great.
Bed had only one bedside table.. Made it awkward for my wife, who had to use ironing board as a place to put her cleanex, etc. I triped on it during the night.
No safety bars in shower. Toiletries were good.

Very run down hotel looks like the door to the room had been smashed in previous time

Checked in and immediately checked out. Not clean and looks nothing like the online images.

This is an older hotel full of history and nostalgia and a reminder of how the hotels used to be rather than the cookie cutters we often see today. All of the staff, including those working in the restaurant, were excellent. We had a fantastic view of the waterfront. Of particular note was how the front desk had read our request for accessibility needs and went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met

The room was clean, spacious and bed comfortable. The hotel itself could use some updates as it is an older hotel. It seemed some new updates are happening.
The location at the waterfront was nice despite the road construction. As in any city or town homelessness is a problem. This area is no exception.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful view of Lake Superior.
Not enough sink or counter space in bathroom but I did like the idea that there was a bathtub and shower. Also loved having coffee maker in room and mini fridge was great.
I would stay there again as lots of nice restaurants near and a beautiful Marina & Park close by.

We went there by pre booking via Expedia but once we went there, Felt like so unsafe to live there. The smell from the room and hallway was so bad….. We didn’t stay there that night.

This property was terrible and needs updating. Every area had a different smell to it. The bath tub and the toilet didnt drain. There homeless / drug addicts litterly sleeping in the parking lot of on the stairs behind the building. My son did not feel safe. Not to mention the police helicopter that flew over top at midnight. We cut our stay short and ran out of there . You could not pay me to stay there again.

To be fair the facility and staff were fine, but there are a lot of homeless people either living in this building or near the parking lot of the hotel. The downtown area and skyway walkover to the marina is where many of these unfortunate people stay and the down ramp leading to the ground level is obviously their bathroom because it stinks worse than an outhouse.

They are undergoing some major renovations and turning this beautiful old hotel into a modern facility with a retro vibe. I will be going back to see how they are progressing. In the meantime the staff is doing a great job making you feel comfortable.

Batroom was clean. Staff very friendly. I like the fact i could travel with my dogs and stay a night in a hotel.
I didnt like the homeless drug seeking mental health people hanging around outside the hotel trying to sell us things or asking for cigarettes and money
