Enjoy our stay. Evan was great telling us the history and giving us a tour.

This B&B was amazing. Evan is a lovely host, gave us a brief history of the house, produced exquisite breakfasts. The hot tub in the room was glorious, the room itself luxurious. The grounds were beautiful.

This place is pure magic. From the second we walked in the door it became clear that this would be a stay we will absolutely never forget. The house is absolutely stunning. It’s quirky and weird in the best possible way while also being incredibly tasteful and elegant. There is so much love and passion poured into this place and it is apparent at every turn. It’s also got everything you could want from a modern hotel- very comfortable bed, great shower, amazing pool- while also providing an experience that transports you back in time. Evan could not have been more welcoming and wonderful to talk to, he has so much information to share about the house, it’s so clear that his passion has made this place what it is. He also loves Mystic and the surrounding area and has lots of great tips to help you get the most out of your trip. Bonus that there are two very sweet dogs on the property. We will be back here. Not sure when, but we will. Magical!

Our first stay in Mystic was complemented by a great host and a very good breakfast. Free self parking convenient to loading and unloading was a plus. We loved the wonderful variety of well maintained antiques all over the property and rooms.

My wife and I booked one night and we *thoroughly* enjoyed our stay! The proprietor - Evan - was an absolute delight with a home/B&B straight out of a quirky movie ... comfortable, welcoming, and just eccentric enough to keep things interesting and different. Great piano music in the background, excellent breakfast and perfect distance from downtown Mystic. Will *definitely* come back!

We had a wonderful time, host gives you a great history of the property and a very nice presentation at breakfast. Would be a much better experience if grounds/landscaping were more tended to as well as the musty aroma.

Dirty, incredibly cluttered. Kept sneezing due to the dust. Felt anxious with all the stuff. Way overvalued.

We had the most amazing time while staying at this property. The rooms were unique and our host was so welcoming. The breakfast was delicious absolutely amazing. The only downfall was we only were able to stay one night. We can not wait to come back to stay longer, explore the gorgeous grounds some more and enjoy the most delicious breakfast.

Overall our stay was fine. It’s like staying in a museum. You surrounded by antiques. Evan is the owner and main caretaker. He helped us find two nice places to eat and even offered to book the reservation. That day we had the pool totally to ourselves. I will say this historic place is not for everyone. Overlook a bit of dust and over grown wild flower and get ready sit in the parlor have a drink and take in the history of the home and all it’s artifacts. You won’t need to watch tv. Thanks Evan!

Evan the host, made you feel like you were at home immediately. Fireplace in the room was set up and ready to go upon arrival and was fantastic. The mattress hung a number on my back but everyone is different, my girlfriend slept like a baby. Being the middle of winter we did not get a chance to enjoy the grounds but there was so much to see inside the house it’s definitely worth the experience 👍

We had a very lovely overnight stay at the House of 1833. Evan (the proprietor) was lovely and personable, and made a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-appointed. There was so much history and love and he and his late partner had put into each relic (and there are so many!) in this historic mansion- every piece has a story. Our only disappointment (no fault of Evan's) was that Hurricane Ida ruined our plans of using the beautiful outdoor pool (which was a big draw for my 9yo son)! We enjoyed our overnight at House of 1833, and if we are to pass through Mystic again we will be sure to come back!

Staying at the House of 1833 was a wonderful experience. We stayed in the Ivy room. It was spacious and has its own bathroom. The history and artifacts filling the house are amazing. The host, Evan, is kind and one of the best breakfast chefs we’ve ever met! There is a lovely dog on site and a large extremely well kept pool. We loved the food and shopping in Mystic, we’ll definitely be back.

The House of 1833 is incredibly unique. Each room is a museum with every square inch of every wall packed with fascinating items. Every twist and turn will bring you a new intriguing encounter. Evan, the proprietor, is a treasure trove of info about the house and the area. However . . .the one night we stayed there our room (Ivy) was suddenly beset at around 10 pm with a roaring noise. When I went out into the hallway and downstairs to discover what it was--I finally figured out it was coming from the room next door. I telephoned Evan who told me that it was a hot tub in the room next door, and that he hoped everything would work out. Well it did finally work out about 45 min later but only because they stopped running the tub. We were disappointed that there seemed to be no mechanism for having quiet after 10 pm.
