Superb in every way. Warm and welcoming staff who couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. Cosy but spacious bedroom with very comfortable bed. Fantastic home cooked food and plenty of it! A roaring log fire and honesty bar for drinks and snacks.
The views are spectacular and although in a quiet location, within easy reach of the shops.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the hotel is cozy and comfortable. Also the surroundings of the hotel are wonderful and there is lots to do. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night - the next time we will certainly stay longer!

Upgrade simply because they had a better view room available. Very friendly & understanding staff over food & did their best to meet requests. Lovely stay

We really love this area in Lynton. This hotel is about my favourite in the area. I think it’s fine. It hasn’t changed much(at all?) in last 5 years. It’s definitely being run a bit understaffed (limited coverage on front desk and hours for food service). If you are organised it’s not an issue but it’s noticeable. Id rate this as a 3.5 star level hotel in a marvellous location. As long as you are out and about a lot (we are) it doesn’t matter too much. On the one hand it feels a bit pricey but I keep going back so hey maybe it’s not!

The property had a vintage appeal and very well equipped. Very well located off the Lynton town. The room i booked was very spacious and had great views.
The Lynton rail passes by the hotel and has an easy access to the cliff top. Easy access to gGreat costal trails from the hotel.
I reccomend if visiting the Lynton Rail , Woolacombe, Valley of Rocks etc.
Also a call out for the wonderful breakfast and the awesome staffs.

Lovely hotel that has been through a tasteful refurbishment in recent times. Lovely comfortable room, large fluffy towels and the best cooked to order Full English breakfast I’ve had in a hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Bar prices are reasonable and it has a great little terrace with fabulous views overlooking Lynmouth bay. The cliff railway passes the side of the hotel and can be accessed by a series of steep steps that give the lungs a good work out. But worth it for the ride down to beautiful Lynmouth
Lynton has a lot of steep hills … short but mighty ! you need a certain amount of stamina to climb them and flat shoes.

Wonderful stay at The North Cliff Hotel! Great location for easy access into the town and the Tarka trail for the Valley of Rocks and beyond on the coastal path. Our room had the most incredible views across the bay from two sides. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was powerful. We had to leave early for the ferry to Lundy so we didn’t get to stay for breakfast but the staff were very accommodating allowing us an early check in after a long overnight flight and drive. There was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits and overall it was a wonderful stay!

Stayed in the quad room with sea view. Wonderful, characterful property with very friendly, helpful proprietors.
Beautiful breakfast room and comfortable lounge. The honesty bar is a great idea and we used it.
From the photos we did think our room looked out to sea but was actually at the back/side of the house which was a bit disappointing..but we could still see the sea at a stretch.
Overall a lovely stay. Electric car charger was excellent.
Only slight negative would be the enormous wooden bed that literally filled the room. No room for anything else such as luggage and we would bang our shins on it trying to get to the other little bedroom.
Would stay again but go for one of the front rooms. Thank for a lovely stay.

The location was stunning. The owners were warm, friendly and very helpful.
The evening menu was extensive and what we chose was delicious. There was a low carb, low GI meal available which was both welcome and extremely tasty.
Breakfast was a feast and set us up for the day.
Highly recommend this hotel.

What a fabulous hotel. The couple who run it and own it Rebecca and Steve are the perfect hosts (apart from Steve’s Dad jokes). The food is always freshly cooked to order. Hot when it arrives and very tasty. The whole experience is amazing. From the beauty of the decor to the amazing layout, bar, dining and lounge area. Rebecca and Steve work extremely hard to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We will be going back in the near future. Don’t miss out by looking elsewhere.

Very friendly and warm welcome received. Offered a free upgrade too. Evening meal was OK, could have been better, but they made a big effort to accommodate my food allergy so grateful for that. Great location, views over the sea/Lynmouth. Right over the cliff railway too. Breakfast was excellent, good choice of hot cold options. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

The parking situation is very tight, we were on the third floor with no lift, tiny room with very small window for the ocean view we paid for, bathroom even smaller. One must enter a suppper order br 4 pm of day of dinner, which means any later arrivals are very limited in what they will make for you. There are other places around to eat, but after a long drive, we didn't want to get back in the car. Room is very old. Staff was nice was nice.

Rebecca is a wonderful and accommodating host. This property sits atop the historic Cliff Railway and access to the beautiful Northwalk path to the Valley of the Rocks.

Very memorable stay. Hotel offers breathtaking views of Lymouth beach and harbour, is right next to the Lymouth Cliff railway and just a short walk from Valley of Rocks. Breakfast was great, in particular the coffee. Quad room actually.comprises 2 rooms - one with a double bed and ensuite toilet and another with 2 singles. The rooms are comfy and well decorated. My only regret is staying only 1 night at this lovely hotel.

Nice Hotel with great views, run by a fabulously charming and helpful couple.
Getting to the carpark is via a narrow lane on a steep incline, so not too good if you don't like reversing your car in tight environs of if you have a big old van of SUV, but the views are worth it.
Breakfast gets 12 out of 10.
The walls/ceiling are not that well sound-proofed (in our room at least) so you may want to request a quiet room if you don't want to be disturbed by next doors TV set.
Hosts are utterly lovely, and they are super keen that everyone has a great stay. Lovely to see.
