Great spot for getting around Port Villa
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the photos on the website didn’t reflect the current condition of the hotel.

Allocated wrong type of room at check in, took two hours to sort out which included participation from ourselves.
Breakfast was included but if you wanted eggs you had tp pay extra.
Pool, fair size but no sun loungers as in picture, only tables/chairs from Oasis Restaurant!
Wifi included but you had to collect a new log in code EVERY morning from reception!
Check out time was 10.00am, the exact time that breakfast service ends.
Tours were very expensive, half day 8000 vt, whole day 14,800 vt
Location was good for an easy walk into town centre.

Very clean and well staffed

Environmentally conscious so beddings and towels are only changed on request. Room cleaning not done daily means used cups and teaspoons must be washed by the guest before re-use, but dishing washing liquid and a sponge are not provided. When washing hands, water splashes out of the basin and onto the bench which is quite irritating.

Location was good.

The Staff were excellent the Hotel was pretty clean plenty of Eating Options around just a little walk tho. Bfast not flashy but enough for a Quick something.
A Super Market nearby to Stock up, Walked to Down Town 18/20mins you can always catch the Local Bus but be Prepared to rub shoulders with the Locals

I always like to stay at the Melanesian
what I did like friendly staff, quietness.cleaness and the washing done so I could take home clean clothes, food was good.
What I didnt like
Having to checkout at 10 when my plane left at 4.00pm
Missed having breakfast by the pool every morning and at least one evening meal and entertainment at the poolside through the week, Bar closed to early and changing wifi code each day Bring back the days before covid

Restaurant has half of the food that was in the menu….sleepy music and always the same in recreational areas (pool)

The hotel has definitely seen better days, everything was coming undone. The whole place could use a coat of paint... The bathroom door wouldn't close as it was falling apart. There were a ton of cockroaches running around (probably a common problem around the island but anyhow, annoying). The pool had no lounge chairs so bring a pool float or something unless you enjoy sunbathing on the hard ground. Wifi basically only worked in the lobby.
The room was a good size and the little balcony was a nice addition, but I would not stay there again especially for the price we paid.

Very disappointed with this hotel.
I was put in a room furthest from the entrance property that backed onto a busy street. To get to my room I had to walk through and past lines of the hotel washing, as well as a huge pile of discarded mattresses and pillows and other debris.
In the room the couch was broken in parts and covered in stains. The towels were thread bare. The worst part, when I went to go to bed and pulled back the top sheet, there was a huge stain on the bottom sheet - I had to pull off the top sheet and wrap myself in it to lay on the bed with some protection.

The staff were warm, friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable and only lacked a small dish for soap so it didn’t have to sit on the counter. A place to hang wet bathing suits would have been nice too. Housekeeping only came when requested which I appreciate. Everyday isn’t necessary. We’d happily return.

Had a 4 night stay, and found it a good place to stay if you avoid the casino at the front. Walkable into town, helpful staff, decent rooms, nice pool.

Was very disappointed. I contacted hotel before hand with one inquiry and the time on my arrival front desk had no clue what I was talking about. Room is out dated, bathroom door does not shut, dirty sheets, coucroches and no sun beds by the pool. When we asked about sun beds I was told they didn't find yet replacement for old damaged sun beds after last cyclone. It's ok reason of course, but the last one was half year ago.

This was very convenient for shopping and dining. The only thing missing was sun loungers by the pool.

We had a very pleasant relaxing stay 😎

There didn’t seem to be any sunloungers to relax on by the pool.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. But property needs a little bit of improvement. Breakfast lacks hot food.

A very short trip to get an idea of the PV vibe. I found the hotel to be ideal - good position, nice pool and bar, complimentary brekkie buffet and a great balcony. Really got a good feeling of the town with a pool retreat!

I liked the comfortable bed, blackout curtains and great friendly staff.

Length of time waiting for room to be ready wasnt great especially when it was dupposed to be ready by 3pm.

The front desk was very helpful and nice. Overall the check-in/out was smooth and the room was clean.

Experience was good, stayed two nights. Front staff not overly willing to help or make customer accommodations (late check out, calling to see if a restaurant was open as we are international travellers with no working phone). Rooms clean, pool nice. Would stay again but expect marginal customer service.
6.0
Accomodation has lots of stairs & no lift so you’ll have to carry your bags up several levels unless you’re on the lower floor.
Property is looking a bit run down.
8.0
WiFi was on and off.
Bathroom exhaust was not running.
After the cyclone they have done a very good job.

The room was nice and practical, but missed a microwave. Staff helpful. However, on first day i managed to lock my safe and couldn't open it anymore. They would send someone to fix it but it never happened 😔 not a.problem, I had nothing in the safe. Breakfast buffet I missed savoury basics such as cheese. Overall a magnificent stay!

When I checked in the room was not ready. That was @ 4pm…..then I said put me in a different room, they said we are fully booked. Then another staff come and out me in a different room, the hotel wasn’t fully booked. Very rude and not helpful…..ruined the whole experience.

Property has not been well maintained and has a number of issues. Staff and service were below average, beds and furniture uncomfortable, food and beverage options limited and poor quality. Even simple facilities such as in room shower and plumbing were not working properly. Quite disappointing and not somewhere I would rush to stay again in Vanuatu

Quiet and convenient

The staff was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival & easy to get to from airport, however, we were not made aware the property was under renovation and the pictures are a bit misleading. Absolutely no pool chairs to lay out by pool or towels offered as listed on the site. The bathroom towels were almost shredded though the room was clean enough, & beds pretty firm. The big upside if you don't plan on spending much time in the room anyways, like us, it is affordable and within walking distance to the market/ shops and to find another hotel/pool to lay out by.

Due to covid restrictions most of the amenities are closed. The staff members are very friendly and the service is excellent!

Staff were super friendly and helpful, they organised our airport transfers, and helped carry luggage to our room. I travelled alone with two children and felt very safe in their care. Thank you for the lovely welcome to Vila.

Great room, food, pool and staff. Also has a casino, great massages and Italian restaurant attached to the property. 5 minutes walk to town
