The room was very funky, small and bed was in a loft, felt like a old time ship. Rough neighborhood, but close to the port.

Property was clean, staff helpful, breakfasts excellent. WiFi on 2nd floor poire.
Would stay there again.

Overpriced for what they offer. Especially given that the wifi didn't work.
Don't trust the photos. Unless you pay for the extra-comfort rooms you will be disappointed... even though this is France and the rooms are typically small.

Typically not one to share on these, but just want to make sure that everyone gets a full picture before booking like we did.
Firstly, was given rude service from the first night (will say we checked in later towards the night so I will give her that). But when asked to show us how to lock the door (door was broken and needed to be checked out) and turn on the air conditioning…she threw her hands up with frustration and asked if she really needed to follow us upstairs.
Later on, we learned that our bathroom shower did not drain, the shower and bathroom was one giant floor area meaning there was nothing to stop the water from flowing across the whole bathroom. We stopped the faucet every 2 minutes to ensure that it wouldn’t overflow into the room, but yet it still did across most of the suite.
When asked to receive more towels and to let her know our issues, we were told that we just need to use it less and we’re given a couple hand towels to clean up the mess.
We were a little upset with the way we were treated…it seemed like we were more of an inconvenience than a welcomed guest. Will add that the difference was night in day with workers we encountered in the morning.
If I was looking into this place, I would just make sure to double check the conditions and what you are booking in terms of rooms (our own fault on that one with not checking the images to what type of room we booked). And maybe try to avoid checking in towards the night time.

The Azur is just too noisy. You hear everything. Neighbor talking, flushing toilet, running water, doors slamming, etc. Price point was good, staff very friendly, and delicious coffee.

The staff and the management were friendly and helpfull, it was clean, but our experience at this hotel was a sequence of little and not so little issues and problems, some of which were the basics of a hotel room maintainence and just a lack of attension to detail.

Location was not ideal. Close to the train/bus station. Old port is a short metro ride away. But, restaurants are not a convenient walk away. Basic rooms and no elevator so it was a slog going up four flights of stairs with luggage. Breakfasts were nice on the outdoor patio.

Nice hotel, decent value, rooms are small but comfortable. Good location close enough but far enough away for the busy centre

Nice central location in Marseille. No elevator, so a few flights of stairs is possible. Friendly staff.

We were very surprised to find our rooms on the 3rd floor requiring a difficult trip with suitcases. Hotel should advise that there is no elevator. Reception agreed to arrange a taxi for our early departure next morning but it did not arrive. There was no one on Reception in the morning so could not find out if taxi had been ordered or not. Thank you Uber as alternative. Room 15 is very small and difficult with large suitcases.

Hotel was great, easy to find, well presented and very comfortable, rooms were small but they were clean and tidy and for one person they were just big enough.

It was really good, the room was clean and organized however I had to check out at 4am and nobody was there... I left the key and went out

Marseille is more filthy than a 1960's Harlem. Hotel Azur is generally decent, and it is close to the big port but they refused us regular drinking glasses and did not let me send my postcard with their outgoing mail. It should be noted that Azur did let us check in after midnight, with a typed note and a room key waiting for us on the front desk after we punched in the door code (which the clerk gave me over the phone). Moreover, Azur was inexpensive and pretty clean/decent, unlike Marseille.

Loved the room. It had a lot of old world charm. Location is nice except at night when the street isn't very well lit. Saw many homeless people but did not encounter any problems. Parking was a bit confusing to find but managed to find by asking on the street.

Near by city and harbour. Friendly staff. Dirty neighbouring areas with limited parkings.

Loved the room. Very elegant. Only complaint is thin walls.

Hotel Azur is a good, reasonably-priced small hotel about 15-20 minutes walk from the harbour at Marseilles. My room was cleaned every day, even on Sunday, by an immaculately turned-out cleaner. All reception desk staff were friendly and courteous. It is located on a quiet street and I felt perfectly safe returning after dark. Would recommend to others, in particular, any female travellers, holidaying on their own.

The only aspect of the hotel I can complement is its location: Azur is a reasonably short walk from the train station, the Vieux Port, and nightlife in the Cours Julien neighborhood. However, unless you're staying in Marseille very briefly and location is all that matters to you, I would recommend staying elsewhere. (Now onto the negatives.) First, we were immediately taken aback by the smell emanating from the bathroom when we got up to our room -- it smelled overwhelmingly of mold. Second, entrance to the room require navigating our way through three locked doors, using three old and rickety keys that we had a VERY hard time getting to work. (It wasn't pleasant coming back to the hotel after a late night of dinner/drinks and barely being able to get back into our room -- plus, the front desk closes at midnight so there was no one around). Third, we got back to the room late to find that the heating system did not work, and the room was quite cold (even colder the next morning when we woke up). Finally, when we came down to check out and pay the next morning, the man working at the front desk refused to let us pay with a card, instead requesting that we pay in cash. We would have stayed longer arguing with him but we were already running late for a train we wanted to catch, so we just gave up and paid in cash. I found the whole payment episode sketchy, since the guy made no claim that the card machines weren’t working.

The room was huge but some of the lights weren't working. Breakfast was a bit overpriced for what it was.

Hotel staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant when I asked about interesting sites and restaurants in Marseille. Also, the hotel is about a 2 min walk to the metro which gives access to both Gare St. Charles and the Old Town (around the harbour). That said, the hotel itself is rather old (not quaint or rustic, just old) and is in need of minor things such as new linens and pillows. I was there for one night so could bear it but more nights and I probably would have switched locations.

Walls are thin, rooms are quite small & entrances crammed in together. No elevator.
While the rooms are of a decent quality, i felt the overall cost of room & breakfast were not a good value, even more glaring in light of receiving a reduced rate. I definitely would not pay more than i already did.

The hotel was O.K. the metro and tram were close by but we had to wait for our room, it was not ready until 4:00 P.M.,and we just wanted a shower and to change after travelling all day. We also got stuck on the 5th floor with no elevator.
