This lodge was just perfect for my solo weekend. The team are so helpful and friendly and everything was organised so well. The pool is a dream as well as the seating areas and so much thought has been put into the design.

Lonno is a wonderful place to enjoy a much deserved holiday. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel you need to extend your stay! A charming place indeed!

We ended out safari with two nights and three days at the Lonno Lodge. It was the most magical experience. We opted for airport pick up from Malindi as the hotel is a little “off the beaten path”. It couldn’t have been easier. The service and hosts (Silvia and Aldo) were top notch. Every detail felt personal. They organized a private yoga class for us, we did reed walks, got a massage... We upgraded our food package from half board to full after the first meal. The food was truly outstanding. The interior design of the hotel- architecture, styling, etc. was so very tasteful. I can’t say enough about our short stay at this hotel. Well worth the price and effort to get there!

The Charming Lonno Lodge is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It’s so peaceful and laid back, but with incredible service from Sylvie and Aldo and their amazing staff. It is very comfortable in the rooms too.

A wonderful small hotel outside the main village. Great pool and excellent food. If you do not like big modern hotels, this is for you. Silvia and her husband are stars.

An exclusive enclave from local poverty, Lonno is the ideal retreat from reality. Spotless and impeccably run by a husband and wife team, it boasts superb service and exquisite food (although perhaps a bit too much of the latter as felt our waistlines expand daily!). We were there at the very end of the season and almost had the hotel to ourselves. The surroundings are gorgeous and the architecture of the hotel is reminiscent of the intricate network of an ancient Arabic village. Our room was a large, airy duplex suite which would have benefited from air conditioning, given the extreme heat and humidity. Having said this though, it was liberating to sleep with all the doors and windows wide open. Mosquitoes were non-existent. The swimming pool was beautiful and there was easy access to the tidal flats in front of the hotel at low tide. The children loved exploring this area and discovering coral, crabs and other sea creatures. The hotel provided suitable footwear for such excursions, which was invaluable. While management was readily available when we needed them, they were not proactive in terms of promoting local activities or excursions. We felt we had to tease information out of them, but once this was done, their guidance proved very reliable. For a fee, the hotel offered air-conditioned transport to local airports and attractions.Unusually, there was not one single sign of written information or communication anywhere in the entire hotel complex. Coming from the over-controlling UK environment, we were surprised to find no paperwork in the room, fire information, or even a sign to the bar! In a way this was refreshing and we felt our hosts were overly keen not to state the obvious. We had slight security concerns before our trip, but once there, could not have felt safer. Not a single pirate! Our stay was very comfortable, utterly delicious, and our every need was provided for. Silvia and Aldo run a very tight ship and are to be commended for their service and style. We would not hesitate to recommend Lonno Lodge to friends. Asante sana Lonno Lodge!

Great place to stay. Expensive, but if money is not a problem then I highly recommed staying here. Small and personal. The owners are hands on. The staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms are nice. The food is outstanding.
Is away from the main part of Watamu so it is secluded and quiet. If you so desire, you can walk to the main shops along the beach. Great view. A+

This is a fantastic hotel, designed by the Italian owners and closely watched over by them. The staff also are very polite and helpful. The rooms are actually like small houses with kitchen and large fridge where you are only charge normal prices for the drinks used. Some people might think that it is too quiet, but the service and facilities are excellent.

Lonno Lodge is a beautiful place where it is possible to spend time just relaxing by the pool in front of the ocean, venture out for beach and water activities or visit the nearby town and other interesting sites in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful while the owners interacted with the guests and offered advice on how to get around and on what to do in the area. They also organized trips by jeep and boat to local places of interest. The overall feeling is that of visiting friends.
