An excellent property with friendly staff. I highly recommend Mountview Spa and Guesthouse to anyone visiting Cape Town.

The Mountview Spa was a great place, in the heart of SeaPoint, which is a nice break from the very heart of Cape Town but has plenty to do, and is just 10 minutes away from both Camps Bay and Cape Town.
The only issue was the ongoing Water Crisis, meaning that the pool and hot-tub were out of action, but this is no fault of Mountview, and Cape Town is heading in the right direction with the drought, with the 'd-day' already being pushed back from April to July.

Hotel was nothing like the pictures. No one was there to register me or greet me upon arrival. Cancelled immediately upon seeing location and expedia was not able to make contact with front desk for several days and then sent message that hotel denied my request. Very poor communication. Eventually agreed to refund my money but it didnt come easily.

The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast they provided was more than we expected. Very accommodating when our group needed to leave our bags there on check out day.

Mountview is a lovely spot with all the amenities that you might want in a guesthouse - pool, hot tub, sauna, full breakfast and nice common areas. Joe, the owner, is so helpful - he got us lined up with transportation from the airport and later in our stay got us a rental car that was delivered right to the guesthouse. He also made restaurant suggestions and reservations and helped us figure out tours and places to visit. The staff is great and the full breakfast is yummy. The location of mountview is ideal. It's a very safe neighborhood, very cute and lots of restaurants close by. It's also a short walk from the Oceanside promenade where you can rent bikes and still along a pathway. We got all around the city using uber although cabs are plentiful and Joe will call them for you. I'd stay at mountview in a heartbeat. The only drawback is that the walls are thin and you can hear people coming and going in the hallways but people were very considerate so it wasn't a problem for us

Very clean and comfortable. The guesthouse is charming and tastefully designed. Great location in Sea Point, safe neighborhood.

Rooms were in an renovated house with old wooden floors. My colleague were woken a few times because of people walking on the floors. Nice place to stay if you book out the entire B&B for family or friends, not so nice if it is for business.

The guesthouse had a great variety for breakfast. The pool and jacuzzi were not operational due to the season. Usually easy to find a park on the street depending on the time of the day. Modern bathrooms and good sized beds. Staff were very friendly and happy to offer ideas of things to do and see in Cape Town and any special events happening.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Cape Town, look no further! This place is a dream. It is a peaceful haven perfect for relaxation in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Breakfasts are amazing, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable, the pool, jacuzzi and spa relaxation rooms are perfect. Above all, the hosts are most friendly and welcoming (as well as there staff) and they provided us with lots of advice on what to do and see in Cape Town. We truly felt at home in this oasis of peace and would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at the Mountview Guest house for 10 days while in Cape Town on business and pleasure. I found the hotel about a 5 minute drive from the city centre and, although not specifically allocated to the hotel, I was able to park on the street within walking distance each day. Sometimes I had to drive around the smaller side streets to find a space in the evening.
The hotel is located a short walk from a high street of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and we found good food and never had any problems walking to/from the hotel.
Inside the hotel there is a nice lounge area with some books and comfy seats. Outside there is a pool and some sun loungers.
I found the bedroom a little disappointing due to the lack of soundproofing between the rooms/corridor. You can hear people next door snoring, showering, etc. and the door to the room is very lightweight so you can hear people coming/going and the staff setting up breakfast.
A couple of times we struggled to get hot water in the morning so started showering at night before bed.
The view from our room was onto the building next door.
The breakfast was OK. Selection of cereal, yoghurt, bread, cold meats and cheese. The cheese to me looked like the type used in burgers (pre-sliced in plastic). You can have cooked egg and bacon as well. The staff there always very good.

MountView Guest house is a superb, clean, and modern little guest house. Joe is a great host and the breakfast was delicious. With all the sights and activities to do in Cape Town, I only wish I had more time to spend at the guest house by the pool and in the hot tub! Highly recommend.

We were late coming in from Zimbabwe, so the owner left the keys in the drop box and all was fine. The rooms are small, have something plastic under the sheets like they thought we were going to wet the bed. The staff was rude. The breakfast was the same everyday, not good. I had to throw the cream cheese away after the rotten smelling stuff was put out for 2 days in a row. Even though breakfast is supposed to be available from 8-10, one day I went out of my room at 945am and they had put it away. Maybe they thought we were out too late? (yes the staff made comments like that) The jacuzzi does not get hot enough and the owner walked over and shut it off one day while I was sitting there waiting for it to get hot, I think that is unacceptable. The rooms are all down a corridor, so really no privacy. The area is far away from everything and parking is a joke. This is not a 4 star. Pick a place closer to the beach, or with more privacy, or better staff. Do not go here.

Perfect location. Room was very comfortable as well as the entire property. Only down side was our room was next to the dinning area with breakfast starting at 8am prevented sleeping in.

Mountain View is a perfect place to stay in Capetown. It's beautiful, clean, tastefully decorated and in a great neighborhood (Seapoint) to visit and see everything else from. The owners & staff are kind, welcoming, helpful & provided an easy stay with a wonderful daily breakfast.

A very nice, clean quiet B&B in a smallish house on a block of larger buildings. Its in Seapoint and convenient to the restaurants of Main Road, and if youve rented a car, you can find parking nearby. The owners dont live on the property and staff arent there all day, so you sometimes have a disconcerting Am I alone in this house? feeling -- but that can also be liberating. Needing to fumble with your keys to get out as well as in is very South African. I hope theres never a fire. And I wished it smelled less of potpourri, but thats an individual taste. The owners were a short phone call away and very friendly and helpful, staff was nice and breakfast was good.

First I was afraid I was too far off but once there I could not have adk for a better location.I am am alone female traveller and this place is just perfectly located - within 10 minutes bus ride uou are everywhere you want to be: the inner city; the Waterfront; the beaches. There are actually several bus stops in walking distance - one right outside the guesthouse. The neighbourhood is safe during the day snd night and some awesome bistros and restaurant are just around the corner.Joe and his team are courteous and point you always in the right direction.Looking forward to another stay when in Cape Town.

Its a B&B at the best. nice people when they are around which is not usual. in my case i saw them for 5 min when checked in.
Early showers are cold, there was no hot water and no body to talk to about it!.
Not a 4 stars hotel, nor it is a spa. a very small pool.
