Excellent stay great room and breakfast

We honestly had a wonderful stay at The Bank. The food and service was incredible for dinner and breakfast. The bed and linens were very nice. Our only drawback was the location of our room, right on the street beside the adjacent pub. Also, I wouldn't say the hotel is a four star, unless we were in an auxiliary section

The Bank hotel is just the type of accommodations my wife & I were looking for, privately owned, small, unassuming, within easy walking distance to local shops and with a unique, beautiful view.

A beautiful and comfortable room! Stunning views. The little garden for hotel guests is a perfect setting. The best breakfast we’ve had so far in Scotland! The manager and her team were so accommodating to our family 100% recommend

Great location in Anstruther. Lovely personell. Great breakfast and dinner with a good variety of both food and drinks. The outdoor place was a bit noisy with the pub's air conditioner residing on it. When the people living on the floor above us walked around it made quite some noise early in the morning.

Great little room in a great location. Everyone was super nice. However we were there when Scotland was playing Germany in the Euros… the bar was packed. It was extremely loud. The windows to the room were right on the street and not sound proof. The party didn’t die down until well after midnight. Besides that… the 1 night was great

I stayed in the room facing High Street for two nights, and the experience was great all around. It was surprisingly quiet. The bar is five steps away, the staff was cordial and professional, and both breakfast and evening meals were well-made and presented.

Really happy with our stay at The Bank. Our room was perfect, the view amazing. Next time we’ll stay for longer.

I wasn’t in main property. I was 2 entrances down. Stairs & try opening main door with key. ( dangerous). Up a flight of stairs. Old fashioned key. Had no idea - had to get help! Room was large. Bathroom large. Had to use key to lock my door once in room. Felt this could be a problem if a fire! Breakfast was provided. Waitress was very nice.
No parking at hotel. Very inconvenient.
Also when checked out - they said Expedia didn’t send my payment. I had to pay via credit card. I thought all my hotels were paid!!!!

We had a terrible stay here. We were in room 27a which was obviously a shop in a previous life. Accessed from the street not the main hotel with a massive single glazed window on to the street at ground level. We had actually requested in March 23 an upper floor quiet room. This was the opposite noisy until the small hours of the morning. We complained straight away but we’re told there were no other rooms. We complained the next morning and were told “what do you expect we are a pub with rooms”. We paid £143 for this room. Never again worse hotel we have ever stayed in. You do get breakfast but not up to much. We will be contacting Hotel.con who we booked through as this room should not be offered to the general public. See photo

Little bit noisy from the street. We booked dinner for 7.00pm and we sat for 15mins with menu's before someone took our order. Breakfast this morning was outstanding

As soon as we entered the room and opened the bathroom door there was an awful smell of wet dirty rag and the floor was wet. A member of staff offered to apply some airfreshner which did not solve the problem at all, it just hid it for a while. I think it was the bathtub drain. Remote controls were sticky and they wiped them after requested. Another member of staff said the manager could talk to us on checkout and give us a discount which makes me believe they know there's something wrong with that room. I was given different information about the time the doors to the street were closed by different staff members, all very confusing. They display a playground on hotels.com that they DO NOT HAVE. The beer garden is poorly manteined and not open. The mini fridge in the room looked like a toy and it spoiled fresh fruit juice because it was so warm inside. Awful mattress. the manager didn't present himself and I had to ask to speak to him before learning I was speaking to him already. Not even a sorry for the inconvenience. He took 10% off of a 180£ a day bill on a terrible room that is not worth that AT ALL! Also, the windows were not double glazed and faced the street so it did not feel safe, specially being by the pub and people being drunk right outside. The door did not have a latch or anything like that, either, and the door itself did not feel safe. I travel a lot and this was the worst and the most absurdly overpriced hotel I've ever stayed in. Never going back.

Lovely location and view of the water. Room was spacious, bathroom old style but functional. Great breakfast and staff on check in and out. Wait staff at dinner disappointing .

I chose a room pictured on Expedia with a lovely quiet sea view. On arriving we were shown to a room facing the street with very noisy traffic. I complained immediately and we were given a satisfactory room with a sea view but still not the room pictured on your website. The staff blame the situation on Expedia. This situation is not satisfactory. People should get the room they chose from your website.

It was great and the breakfast was amazing. The only problem was being on the ground floor facing the road. It was loud outside.

This was absolutely excellent. Clean, comfortable and centrally situated with parking outside the hotel.
Staff were friendly and courteous, breakfast superb and the views excellent overlooking the beach!

The room that we stayed in had converted shop windows as the 'wall' separating us from the street. This provided zero noise reduction from the crowd of people standing outside the next door pub which was constant until after the pub closed. Not only was it extremely noisy, it also felt very unsafe with only a pane of glass separating our bedroom from a crowd of rowdy drunk people in the street, and we were not able to relax all night and got zero sleep. I am shocked and appalled that a hotel inspector would allow this property to use this as a bedroom! It is the WORST hotel room I have ever stayed in! The sad thing is, the room and property itself was very nice and had we stayed in a room with 4 walls, I have no doubt that we would have had a different experience. Manager was very cooperative when we complained but since the hotel was full, it wasnt possible to move rooms, which really would have been the only solution. We wont be returning.

Fantastic property and staff. Only wish I’d managed to personally tip the guy who helped carry bags to the top floor, served us drinks/dinner, and seemed to do a bit of everything.

We had a great stay. The room was spacious and clean. I think it hsd been newly refurbished. The bed was really comfy and we slept well. I was worried at first as the room was next to the street but it wasn't noisy and there was enough privacy. The food and table service at The Bank were excellent and a beautiful view from the dining room.

Nice and charming hotel. Serviceminded staff.

Our room was on the front but was quiet most of the time. It was a comfortable room but would have been better if there has been a few guidance notes eg on how to use the safe and TV easily. The towel rail developed a small leak on the second morning and had not been repaired when we left on the fourth but it was not a real inconvenience.
The parking is very limited and most of the time I had to park up the road in the free public car park. Luckily, I got a spot in front on arrival for unloading the bags and on leaving waited until others had gone so I could park briefly to load up again.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate - indeed good on the first two days but very slow and not so good on the third.
Overall it was a pleasant stay and we'd book again if returning to the town.

Stayed here 6yrs previously, enjoyed our stay then as well. Would say this stay was even better mostly due to relaxed and friendly professional staff.

Loved the few days we had at The Bank. The room was excellent, we even had a separate sitting room to enjoy the view! Nice relaxed local pub atmosphere and the staff were excellent and accommodating. Evening menu was top notch, our only gripe was the breakfast. While tasty, it lacked a little attention to detail as it was delivered very fast, so some things were a little dry and overdone (eggs). It didn’t detract from our stay and will gladly stay again. Will be back next year, thanks for having us!
