The food was fabulous and so was the service at dinner.
The room was so dated and so dirty it was awful. The curtains were ripped, the shower flooded so I moved the cover over the drain and oh my goodness, it had never ever been cleaned!
The floor of the room was so out and sloping that the bed kept moving. No headboard so the pillows kept falling off the bed too.
There is a large green light above the door which is so bright, we got not sleep. We tried to cover it in clothes and a pillow but still so bright.
It was so dusty in the room we could write our names in it!
Breakfast was nice but one of our party was gluten free and they put the gluten free toast next to the standard bread.
Has such potential but the basics just aren’t being met at all.
Disappointing.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice pub. The rooms are very basic and devoid of any character. Clean and comfortable though

I stay once a year here, when I play golf nearby. It is starting to look a little tired and the Bluebell Corner room I stayed in certainly needs freshening up. But the staff, food and drink and location remain fIrst class.

We were somewhat disappointed with the offering. From the outside it looks really nice and the situation overlooking the village green and duckpond is idyllic.
The parking which is on the road in front of the property can be problamatic depending how busy the pub is.
The room we had was out the back in a converted barn, up a flight of metal stairs which could have tricky had it been raining.
The room was small and very basic. The mattress on the bed was awful and gave absolutely no support. The bathroom was extremely small and just about adequate, not big enough for two to use at the same time.
We ate in the pub meeting friends who lived close by. The menu was good and varied, and the food was very good. The service was also good, although we did feel a little rushed to order desert.
Breakfast was also disappointing although the offering was good. We both had poached eggs which at best were luke warm and the mushrooms were missed off my wife's order.
Overall quite disappointing and really not value for money.
Would we stay again, I'm afraid not.

Room was good. Really good breakfast. great location with some lovely walks close by.
The mattress could probably be upgraded but apart from that, a great stay.
4.3
The trip was great! Food excellent, room spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The shower was a bit difficult to open, but otherwise really enjoyable stay.

Nice little pub/hotel in a cosy village. Free parking outside, easy check-in, clean and tidy room, lovely breakfast.
Easy taxi and train links into Wembley Park Station.
4.3
A welcoming village pub with great atmosphere, helpful staff, good quality pub food, excellent breakfast. An overnight stop was really enjoyable.
4.3
Easy check in and friendly helpful staff throughout.
Really peaceful picturesque location and yet close enough to Warner Bros studios.
Allowed me to work in the bar after breakfast even though it was supposed to be closed.

Food was amazing and I’m gluten free and was so well looked after

A beautiful hotel in a small village within driving distance of local towns. Rooms are comfortable and a good size. Breakfast was made to order and extremely tasty and filling. Hotel staff were super and made it feel like a home from home. A really super stay.

Lovely pub, all of the staff were well trained and very helpful and friendly. The food was also great and the area is so pretty for walks, I’d highly recommend

This was a very welcoming stay, ideal for walking in the area. The facilities were clean and bed very comfortable. Although the catch on the bathroom door was broken and the decor was a little old, the shower was warm and the towels big and fluffy. On the whole we were really pleased. We would definitely come here again. The staff were lovely.

Went up for my daughters graduation from RAF Halton and stayed over the night before. Lovely staff and atmosphere and great food!

We only stayed for one night, but definitely plan to return. Staff were welcoming (so were other customers) and helpful, the food was very good indeed and with great seasoning. Our room was clean and comfortable. The village itself is picturesque and perfect for a quiet getaway.
4.3
Our room was just what we needed for one night
Shower small , but just fine
People very friendly

Great pub with excellent pint of Badger amber ale, bar food a bit slow, ( 30 minute wait for a sandwich) nice clean & comfortable room set in courtyard, great breakfast.
4.3
A good one night stay in a welcoming pub with very good staff. The food was also good and nice well kept real ale. Lovely location too. We parked and were not charged (so perhaps the surcharge mentioned in Expedia is not accurate). Expedia also states in room amenities that towels are not available. They were and this entry is also not accurate.

Stayed here for a planned wedding that got cancelled due to Covid, late doors, with the post wedding meal to be here as well, and so pleased we decided to stay here still.
The bar and restaurant are lovely, the staff are all really friendly and polite, we didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast was lovely and nicely presented, and a pleasingly large pot of tea for 1.
The room was comfortable, clean, with a lovely bed, nice shower and very peaceful.
Aldbury itself is small, but so worth visiting. A beautiful old church, village pond with stocks, and there looks like plenty of walks can be had.
We will be returning and staying.
4.3
We had a good meal in the restaurant but we’re very disappointed in the room.
4.3
The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good. The room was very basic -grubby carpets, worn furniture but more importantly very, very cold. The radiators were off and a window open when we arrived. We turned the rad on but the heating appeared to go off around 5.30 but had made little impression on the temperature in the room anyway. We went out , came back very late and the room was so cold that it took us a couple of hours to warm up in bed. When we went down to breakfast at 8.30 the heating was still not on. Showering and dressing in the cold was not a pleasant experience.

A lovely old inn with all of its charm and foibles. Tiny rooms in a historic building. Very nice opportunity to wake up in a tiny village filled with character and see a field full of sheep outside the window.
If you are looking for serene English countryside this is the place

Wonderful little cottage, perfect for our family. The village is picture perfect, and is situated so you can walk into the large National Trust area from your doorstep. The adjoining pub serves great food, and the landlord is extremely welcoming. The village has a well stocked corner shop and post office. We would thoroughly recommend.
4.3
Nice locals pub in a beautiful village. Bags of character and a friendly welcome from the staff. Food was v good but on the night I stayed only a limited range of drinks I.e. only 1 ale.
4.3
Stayed for business.
Some noise from room occupant upstairs, mainly floorboards creaking from them walking around, not enough to keep me awake.
The big plus of this location is the excellently cooked quality food on the evening menu, and friendly and helpful staff.
4.3
Stayed whilst walking the Ridgeway.
Set off at 0500 to beat the heat as the temp hit new records.
Couldn't be more helpful in letting us into our room early.
Food was excellent.
All the staff were helpful and accommodating and id recommend it to anyone walking the Ridgeway or visiting the area.
4.3
Lovely traditional pub with friendly staff & locals. The food was out of this world, home made & plenty of choice wld recommend any body stay here.
The only fault I found a dusty side table & a weird plug in the shower
4.3
Family stay over weekend for local wedding. Great local location with scenic views across local village green and duck pond. Pub with a lot of character including hotel rooms which are surprisingly comfortable with all needed amenities provided. Outside of building could do with some TLC. Breakfast very good and dinner menu has plenty of choice with spacious dinning facilities and a good selection of beers.
