I keep getting caught out on how much London and location creeps the prices up. This hotel was fine. But that’s all. I expected a little more luxury but it was there once we got to the room itself. It smelt of damp and the fixtures were a little tired. But it was warm and quiet and did the job it needed.

Really enjoysble stay. It's a lovely hotel and very convenient being so close to the Barbican where we had been attending a concert. I would definitely stay here again.

It was very good value for a night’s stay midweek and the room was comfortable. It was quite noisy until well after midnight. Breakfast was quite expensive for a standard buffet and the coffee was not great.

Stayed in one of the smaller rooms, and just not nice at all. Poor air quality, worn down and generally not very inviting.

Lovely staff, quick check-in and nice room. Great location.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty.
Our check in was done by Raissa and honestly we couldn’t have asked for anyone more friendly, professional and helpful.
The whole team from greeting at the door to checking out were fabulous and I look forward to starting again in the future.
I would like to point out Raissa to her management team and it was an exemplary standard of how guests should be treated and very much appreciated.
Thank you and I look forward to another stay soon.

Hotel was nice. Bed really comfortable and Shower good however the nosy was bad. It kept me awake all night.

Tiny room, no natural light. An expensive little box

Immaculate and cool hotel

Excellent room size for London standards and very friendly and helpful staff! Amazing English Breakfast!

Very, VERY disappointed in my experience at the hotel. The room was tiny and in disrepair. The bathroom was *filthy* with broken fixtures and fittings and the walls of the room so thin I could hear everything (and I mean everything!) going on in adjacent rooms.
Fire alarm went off twice in the first hour of me staying, and a broken step in the fire escape nearly sent me tumblibg down a fight of stairs.
The building and it's rooms are obviously in serious need of updating and repairing.
Avoid!!

Rooms were spacious and clean. Location was ok with some restaurants nearby. They could not find our reservation so the executive room we booked was not available. However, they did give us 2 rooms instead and access to their lounge.

Really friendly and helpful staff, also great rooms

Check in experience was both good and bad. One of the receptionists completely ignored me as she walked back & forth without so much as even a nod as I was standing waiting.
When I was eventually seen to, the 2nd receptionist was fantastic.
Room service menu was decent, but despite calling several times for 40mins I couldn’t even get an answer on the 2 x numbers provided on the menu. So ate elsewhere.
Room was nice, clean and a good size for London. Location also fairly good for public transport links.

First impressions were great, reception area is very nicely decorated and staff were welcoming. The Room itself was dark with orange lighting, small double bed, comfortable but very squeaky. A lot of the furniture had scuff marks and looked tatty which for £300 per night isn’t exactly expected expected. Very nice bathroom. Fantastic location, but could just use a little bit more care for detail

Great staff and rooms, great location in the middle of London

Gorgeous hotel with a stunning reception area. Our room was very spacious with a fantastic bathroom especially for London. We paid a very good price for a Saturday night in the school holidays however this was reflected in the area as we couldn’t find anywhere to eat within walking distance of the hotel with children. I believe the area is busier Mon-Fri. Great tube and transport links. I would definitely stay here again

We were in a Deluxe room and it was not up to deluxe standards by all means.:-most of the lights not working curtains not closing to block the lights, use slippers and no dressing gown.No water coming out of the tap to fill the bath only the shower working.

Our family loved staying here! Beautifully masculine, amazing staff and a short taxi to the shopping! Thanks for all your help during our stay! Shout out to Bec for all his help too!

Good location, minutes away from Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations (7 mn and 15 mn walk). Very welcoming staff, good size room, quality bed for a good night sleep, nicely decorated reception area. Continental and English breakfast available.

Set expectations on the price you pay, it's an old converted brewery, the staff were fantastic, the pub beside it is great, location super but it's not the Ritz. Go and enjoy but remember what your paying

Good stay. Nice comfy clean room. Only slight detractor was that our room had a mini kitchenette but the fridge did not ever get cold

This is a wonderfully quirky hotel where the biggest challenge is finding your way from your room to reception. It’s perfectly located I. A quieter residential area but with close tube links to the whole of London.

The Montcalm team was great, across the board. Front desk, Concierges, Housekeeping, Lounge area. I was there for work and will certainly stay there next time.

Very good stay, easy check in etc, clean, quiet etc, only thing is breakfast is only a buffet, no chance to order from a menu which was disappointing. Food was good but for the price I would expect to be able to order from a menu

Beautiful property. The rooms were very clean and the staff were great! Me and my partner had no problems during our stay. Although they were fully booked as they told me, they managed to help me with my requests. I highly recommend!

Alex, Concierge, was excellent

Breakfast service poor on 2nd day

As a heritage conversation, there are some oddities about the hotel, like the placement of the shower (which could use some attention to hardware and a grab rail) and aircon that occasionally quits. But these are also charming eccentricities - it’s not a cookie cutter box. Would come again.

Excellent experience and service. The building was funky and our shower had an issue but it was resolved straight away.
There were events happening both week days we stayed which added some crowds.
Beautiful spacious room for London standards and I’d definitely come back.

We booked 10 rooms. All of which were fine but I had expected the rooms to have been charged to my cc but this didn’t happen so on check in the other guests were asked for cc swipes which caused some of them to complain to me!

Loved the unique brewery layout
