Check in was easy, arrived and the staff were very friendly and engaging, got shown the room which was beautifully presented.
Had dinner, the food was delicious, service was excellent , we had a few drinks and went to bed, had a fabulous nights sleep in a very comfy bed.
Had breakfast (which was included) and I couldn’t fault it at all, all in all, had a wonderful stay and would very highly recommend.

Charming building from the 15th century, with features preserved. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Food was excellent, with superb local ales! Plus, it’s dog friendly and ample parking for residents. Highly recommended!

This traditional pub had a nice large room with loads of rustic charm. The staff were brilliant and the breakfast was amazing! For the price it was well worth it.

Lovely hotel and pub.

Lovely building and room with great staff and really good food. The only slight downside was the noise in the room overnight, as the charming-looking windows are gappy.

Stayed at the Marlborough for one night. Room was comfortable and clean, nice bathroom with very powerful shower. We ate in the restaurant and found the food very good value with excellent service. Breakfast was also good (the "Big Breakfast" lived up to its name!). Will definitely be back.

We had a really lovely stay here. The room was lovely and a good size, comfortable bed and great amenities. The bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was really nice. We thought the breakfast was a continental only but its not, and they offered a great range including full English, so that was a nice surprise and made the overall price even more value for money. We would be happy to stay again.

Amazing stay! Room was spacious, clean and lovely. Large bath. Lovely view of the square and church! Staff are very friendly and accommodating! Food was absolutely delicious with large portions, we had breakfast included but also had dinner which is very reasonably priced! Nice to sit on the sofas right by the open fire if you're having a drink!
Great location as set right on the high street and lovely walk to Flatford.
We will definitely be back!
The only thing to mention was the traffic noise, we were woken at 4am with people parked on the high street (maybe deliveries?) and an unusual amount of traffic going by at that time, however, this wouldn't deter us from returning!

I liked the way the rooms had been decorated with a clean and modern look yet still retaining some of the original features.

2 night stay across a weekend. Staff:Greeted on check in by a member of staff who was informative, but straight-faced professional. I didnt have any other interaction with staff throughout my visit. Have seen their historic responses to some customer reviews (some more fair than others) and their attitude can be rude, rather than constructive (e.g. Thanks for your comments, noted would be more appropriate)Building:Characterful - low ceilings and very low doorways. Building is bowing with age. Quaint, no gas (storage heating). Charming from the outside, bar has a fireplace. A very local watering hole... Very obvious who is not local.Room:Munnings Room (double). Has so much potential - but let down by the tired furnishings and terrible state of cleanliness. The bed itself and linen was clean - as was towels, very fresh - but look closer and there is months, potentially years, worth of dust on the skirting boards. Spiders, too. This would be easily managed with once-monthly hot bleach water cleaning. Mould in the bathroom could be addressed by cleaning, installing better extractor fans and painting with mould-resistant paints. Curtains and upholstery cleaned/refreshed every six months. Very simple solutions but until addressed really lets the overall stay down. It is almost like cleaners just refresh the bed/tea supplies/ and that is it.Food:Despite B&B signs, no breakfast is offered - it is an additional cost of your own expense to local eateries.

The bathroom was small and dirty with mould growing up the pipes behind the wc.
The w.c. was filthy in the bowl.
The stairs leading to the room - the Stour Room - were dusty with bitts all over
The property looks lovely outside but i would not recommend it to anyone and i think you should visit this inn urgently.

We enjoyed a hassle-free 2-night stay, ate one night at the inn: a brilliant meal. Quirky place, we had the Constable Suite which had a v comfortable 4-poster, nice armchairs, tables, bedside cabinets, dressing table, big wardrobe, big TV, kettle & stuff to make hot drinks. Heating was erratic: storage heaters and an oil-filled radiator, meaning it was either boiling or freezing but oh well. The bathroom was a little gross: no shower, extractor fan didn't work and the loo used a macerator which made the room feel like there was an earthquake every time you flushed. Avoid that in the middle of the night...! A couple of light bulbs had burnt out.
Breakfast not in the inn, but (by arrangement) in the tea room across the road.
Niggles apart, it was a great place to stay - with all its crooked walls and mazes of corridors.

Great experience. I loved staying in a building from the 1400. Floors sloping, halls narrow, ceilings low. If you want a Holiday Inn, this. Is not for you. I loved it.

Nice staff, quiet town. The bed is comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and service is fine. The WiFi could be better but isnt generally the point of going away to the countryside. Had dinner at the pub down the street since they had a Michelin rating but got after dinner snacks (chips) and drinks here for a better price. The building is old and has its charm. Things are generally outdated but comfortable.

Very basic. The en-suite was small, not very clean and the door didn't close properly. No breakfast facility. Didn't dine there.
