One of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever been to with amazing views from every corner and direction.

Fantastic hotel with great facilities, it’s quite a drive to get there, but it’s worth it. Staff is very friendly.

This hotel and the surroundings are something between Lord of the rings and Starwars, the scenery is faboulous. The room was comfortable and with a fantasic view. The staff was very helpful and friendly, as all portuguese btw. My dinner, á la carte was a hit, only problem I had to much to eat but will easily do it again.

O Hotel tem excelentes instalações. A localização é do melhor.
Os quartos atendendo à qualidade do hotel deveriam ser melhorados, as toalhas deveriam ser mudadas todos dias sem solicitação.

The hotel is located high on a hill outside Modim de Basto, and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. The architecture is suitable for the landscape - the floors on the side of the hill where the 5th floor is the highest and the first floor is at the bottom. Very nice building and gardens. The room we received on the fifth floor was a higher standard than the room we received on the first floor through booking.com - so we recommend asking for a room on the 5th floor (reception floor). There was no difference in price, on the contrary - 4 euros cheaper. Spacious room Huge balcony, bathroom, bottle of mineral water.
There is also no coffee making facilities in this room or the other.
Towels – only 2 normal size and 2 tiny the size of a cleaning cloth. Not as expected from a 4* hotel.
We were amazed and angry when we found out that the hotel charged the credit card - in advance and thus prevented us from using/ choosing another payment method. When I made the booking at hotels.com I chose the option "pay later" at the hotel. This option is more expensive.
The breakfast – Not as expected from a 4 star hotel. During this trip we stayed at 2 other 4 star hotels (North Portuga ) and the standard of breakfast was higher.
Water in the pools – cold for swimming in October.
I can't give my opinion about the a/c as it wasn't essential during our one night stay

Nice pool (although could be cleaner). Nice facilities include sauna, steam room, outdoor pool and very small indoor pool). Very quiet location outside of Mondim de Basto. Great location to visit Douro Valley, charming traditional villages, and great national parks for hiking. Quiet rooms. Breakfast buffet ok. Hotel run down. Cheap construction. Needs remodeling. One of the restaurant staff outrageously rude. Overall, we recommend hotel for the price.

Brilliant secluded place. We stayed in one of the villas and the views were breath taking. Restaurant was lovely and the service was also very good.

On arrival we were checked into a double room when we had booked a twin. When I went back to reception to complain they said they couldn't change the room that evening so instead brought spare sheets and changed the beds the day after. Disappointing given we had clearly booked a twin room, plus the spare sheets were damp.
The room was ok, but the fridge didn't work and the air conditioning is centrally controlled and was too warm and ineffective. Our view of the mountains was blighted by a JCB digger which also woke us up on the first morning around 9am. They're clearly doing some work to the grounds, which to be fair are very well kept.
The hotel is worn and sad, has no atmosphere and smells of chlorine throughout. The indoor pool is smaller than the photos suggest. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and it was terrible.
We decided to book ourselves in to a different hotel for the second of our three night stay and were very pleased we did!
Would not recommend this hotel, very disappointed and really negatively affected our holiday.

Off the beaten path. Once you arrive you will think you are in a dream. Hotel is very modern. Amenities superb. Gardens and architural quirks within the hotel very pleasing. Spa services, indoor heated pool, also two outdoor pools. Family friendly.Breakfast abundant. Nearby village has supermarket and many restaurants. Enjoy.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise! We are a young couple with no kids and were looking for a relaxing stopover during a road trip in the district! We were impressed by the facilities, our room had a river view, very spacious with balcony and indoors jacuzzi. Staff and quality of service were also impeccable and to top it up we had lovely evening tanning by the pool. Most of other guests were couples with small children but we were not even bothered by that. this is a perfect choice for a 1 to 2 nights getaway.
