Dinner was great, they provided sushi and beef and different wine. The breakfast was boring. We lived on the 3rd floor, can only see trees, no lake view.
Good to have massage chairs outside the hot spring area. The water machine was also outside the hot spring area, can’t drink water when you feel dehydrated after hot spring.

Our room was so far from front and for old woman like me it was hard to get around One of the front greeting lady was very accommodating and we had a very enjoyable stays. Food was very good

Location is good, but don’t expect it as a “ resort “, just average place to stay in, and you usually don’t get a chance to book either of two hotel restaurants and its junk stuff buffet at high price will be the only option

We stayed 3 nights in 2 different facing rooms- lakeview and My Fuji view as there was no one room for 3 continuous nights of stay and it turned out very well as we had both views of the Kawaguchi lake and of Mt Fuji. The hotel itself is a little dated but the location is great and there is a hotel shuttle as well as the sightseeing red loop bus stop bus right outside the hotel itself. Breakfast is included in room rate and quite good. Dinner is good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our first room for 2 nights was 484sq ft with a lovely lakeview. For the last night we had to move room and do a check out of our room by 11am and leave our bags with reception till 3pm to move into our other room with Mt Fuji view. The only thing was we discovered the room (about 484sq ft) which we paid for the last night with an open bath was the same price as what the hotel normally charge for their suite (753sq ft) on the hotels.com website for 4Feb 2020! So just be aware and enquire more carefully on the room types and pricing. It may of course be due to the demand and supply factor. Other than that caution I would recommend a stay at the hotel.

I cannot believe I spent over 400USD for a room that had not been updated in at least 30 years. I would not even give this hotel 2 stars. The online photos do not accurately depict the current condition of the rooms. Breakfast had a lot of options but again the room and furnishings were worn and dated.

The hotel location is good, many sight seeing place and small souvenir shop around. Staff were so nice, but not good at English! The food at restaurant is good. The only thing I don't like is check out time at 10AM !

Booked West Wing Mt Fuji view room top floor could only see top of mountain. They have to update room view photo false advertising.

The front desk staff were awesome! I regret not getting their names because I would like to mention them by name as they were so great. They helped us rearrange the night we stayed when Fuji was closed because of a typhoon and they helped us check to make sure we could go back the next day. They also helped us get a great dinner when a lot of places nearby were closed. They were really great!

I accidentally booked a smoking room but actually I would like to have non smoking room and I only realized on the day of check in.
I contacted the hotel to ask if I can change the room type, they replied me very quickly and gave me an alternative choice. I liked the solution made by the hotel.

This is a classic Japanese Hotspring hotel that is great for family traveling with elders and young children. The hotel amenities may feel outdated when compared to more fancy hotels in the city, but the hotel staff and quality of service is just superb. It’s a great place to experience all that Fujikawaguchiko has to offer

The hotel is beautiful! In the western + Japanese style room, the bed is extremely large or you can choose to use a futon on the tatami! I do recommened saving money and choosing the “lake view” rooms, because on the Mountain View selection, you can’t see the mountain from your room window. It’s actually outside of your door in the hallway window. Just as a heads up!
Amazing breakfast and an excellent view from the private onsen! I highly recommened paying extra for those!

The area of the Kawaguchico Lake is fantastic and from the 7 floor rooms west wing there is a view of Mt Fuji as well as the Lake from most of the rooms on the other side of the Hotel. The hotel itself however is very tired and needs a refit. The downstairs area particularly the carpets needs a refit and a good clean. Staff are very courteous and well trained.
The locality does not have many restaurants open in an evening so it was disturbing that we could not eat in the Hotel restaurant. It had to be prebooked and was not available on check in night or the night after. So the only food available in the hotel was in the lobby bar and the only hot food was a toasted sandwich. Clearly this is a very tour based hotel and individual travellers as we were were not well catered for. The restaurant is very large so we could not understand why we could not eat there. Breakfast was good with over 70 people eating there on one occasion.
Room were standard Japanese size with adequate facilities. In summary nice area, location of the hotel perfect, friendly efficient staff but but it needs a good clean up and in an evening no food option without advance booking before arrival and limited options outside.

Very helpful, as we failed to book one of our days there, and the hotel staff accommodated us well, even though they were very busy.

Besides the clear skies to meet Fuji-san, the leg of the trip was made great by the first class hospitality of the hotel staff. The menu for the 2-nights’ half board was well conceived and flawlessly executed. Though I can’t say the same for the kid’s meal. Overall, perfect view, perfect onsen, perfect location, perfect hospitality - well done on all fronts! We will be back!
