Hotel is a bit old and not great condition, but good for the price. Staff were great and moved our room as first room was very bad, with no hot water and right by the lift shaft so also noisy. Moved us no problem. Breakfast was average, enough choice and again ok for the price.

We were in Southport for the air show and chose the hotel for its location and value. It was very spacious and comfortable. Our room was great, with what felt like a new bathroom and nicely decorated bedroom with a comfortable bed. For a large Victorian hotel it turned out to be a good choice.

Found a dirty pair of ladies knickers in the room when checked in. First room was dark and dingy and furthest away from reception when the hotel was almost empty. Breakfast was awful and greasy. Just about the worst experience ever. Booked three nights. Left after 2 and went and stayed somewhere else. Dreadful place.

Staff faultless very helpful however the hotel is in a poor state ! Very run down , buckets on the floor in the main bar for the leak ! I brought my wife and grandson for a day at the coast ! Chose this hotel because it faces the lake and got a brick wall view ! Ruined our weekend

The hotel has recently been refurbed and our corner rear room was initially v clean and comfy, overlooking an unkempt small garden area. The windows were dirty and the frames rotten, but internally there were no problems.
BUT - after 2 of our 4 night stay we complained that nobody had been to service the room. The receptionist insisted that info was given online and in a letter we should have been given on arrival. No way. Their policy is to only clean after 5 nights! We were v annoyed as we had used up the one tiny set of toiletries given and our towels were dirty, etc. etc.
We had to fetch daily all such items from her, and also tea/ coffee supplies. Nobody cleaned out our mounting bins or made our bed. It was like being in an apt with no benefits, not even a toilet brush which was a clear necessity with the weak functioning flush! Our wet towels remained in a heap , cluttering the bathroom floor.
Another problem-There was a noisy drunken group of women staying who drank outside till turned 3 am , ruining our sleep. Not the hotel’s fault, but it didn’t help! The second night it took the security guard nearly 3 hrs to arrive and eventually stop them shouting.
Annoyingly I booked early with no refund and I noticed that prices had dropped nearer the time, so watch out for changing rates.

Visited this hotel 3 times and been very happy ,
The last visit though the room had no heating which we were told they would report fault
Due to sash windows and single glazed it did not help ,
Will still use it lovely views

Room was satisfactory, the hotel just looks a bit tatty, needs some investment. We had a major leak come through the ceiling via the light fitting so we are lucky we didn’t turn the light on! We did get a room upgrade when we checked in which was nice

The reception staff was amazing Elle her name was helpful polite went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable lovely staff good service for food not to busy

Room was far too hot and windows slammed shut if tried to open. Extremely uncomfortable beds. Kettle was filthy so had to clean it before using. Having to walk through a building site every time we had to cone to our room. No housekeeping. Definitely not worth the amount of money I spent for the room.
