Travelled by train although parking is available , walking distance from the train station . One night stay 5 stars based on this being budget accomodation , couldn't expect any better for the price . Single room ensuite . Friendly , helpful staff and I was able to leave my case with them after check out whilst I spent the day in Truro before getting the train . Would stay again .

Excellent value. Clean and comfy. 20 mins walk down to the city centre and a little longer back up.

Accommodation was adequate for our needs but quite dated and not very sound proof as we could hear tv/talking from another room and floors were very creaky. Also saw a leaflet for breakfast only to then find in the morning that it was room only and the property does not so breakfasts!
5.0
Ample off road parking and a lovely sized room. 15 minute walk to the centre of Truro. A lovely welcoming team too.

Booked for a night and was perfect for what we needed, room was clean with kettle, tea, coffee & milk, fridge & tv and the beds were comfy! Staff were really friendly on arrival so all in all a pleasant experience

Lovely landlady, really helpful! Comfy beds and clean facilities. Lidl opposite and Sainsbury's less than 5 min walk away, so that was breakfast easily sorted! Lovely pub a 19 min walk away - The County Arms. Really good food but huge portions, so make sure you're hungry when you arrive! 20ish min downhill walk into Truro (we drove, as the steep walk back up would have been too much) Good location on a main route but not too noisy. Parking can be limited but you can always park in Lidl. Would definitely stay again!

Great overnight stop over whilst working. Full size fridge in room which was very handy. As was the little table. Clean bedding and clean bathroom.

Clean and convenient near the station but compared to other places I have stayed which included breakfast it is expensive.

It’s a guest house not a hotel. Check in was quick and friendly. Basic room and had a shower. Toilet down the hall which is not a problem. Nothing much in the area other than a Tescos (Sunday. Closed at 4pm!) walk into town is doable. At this price point for a one night stay as a solo traveller, this property was just fine.

We really liked the room. It was roomy and the beds were very comfortable. We liked being at the top of the guest house. The table, chairs and small fridge were all very convenient. It was difficult to control the temperature on the shower and the toilet didn’t flush easily. Other than that we loved our experience. Thank you!

Checked in and was given room 3 on 1st floor at the front of the house overlooking Lidl. Twin beds as expected, one quite soft, the other firmer. There was a full sized fridge and microwave in the room, tea and coffee and biscuits, lovely white towels and spotless bed linen , a kettle and mugs a microwave and windows that opened!! All great. There were thoughtful touches like chocolate on the pillow which were very welcome. For me, there was only a couple of not very important niggles. The toilet was an electric one which didn’t flush wadte away very easily. The motor was quite noisy which could have been a problem especially as it went on for some time afyer flushing. It took several flushes to clear the bowl. So i was very glad i was on my own! The major problem was the sink. It was tiny! This made filling the kettle ( full sized) impossible so it had to be filled a mug at a time. Unfortunately, the water was brown from the tap for the first night(i was there for 2) so it wasn't drinkable. This is a common problem in rural areas and easily remedied by crossing the road and buying a bottle at Lidl! The shower was lovely so i was extremely happ overall. Excellent value for money. No food provided but there is lidl opposite and a Sainsburys with a cafe about 5 mins along the road. A plate and cutlery would have been needed to use the microwave. Overall, a good stay

Perfectly adequate for my needs

Room was tidy but in need of modernisation. We did not get a good night's sleep because of our neighbours noisy power shower at 6am. The main road outside was also noisy even though we had shut the windows. There was no breakfast included, which could have been made clearer on the hotel details. Not enough car parking spaces for the number of guests.

When we arrived we were abruptly greeted. I assumed it was some miscommunication, but whilst being checked in another guest arrived. She was dealt with even more poorly. I'd go as far as saying the member of staff was ignorant. If this was my place I'd have been embarrassed. The second day we met another member of staff, who was extremely pleasant. Completely chalk and cheese. The place is tired. Our room had no hot water, and the radiator didn't work. The shower was hit and miss. The TV had appalling reception and all channels kept dropping out, making it unusable even as background. The beds were not the most comfortable and they had no top sheet, just a small quilt. The bathroom could have done with some shelves.
It had plenty of parking, and was conveniently located.

Very nice place, comfortable beds and fairly quiet area. Bathroom was a little small but adequate.

Check in was easy and beds were comfortable. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned. The shower was not very good because it was hard to regulate the water temperature.

An ok hotel for a short stay, no problems experience. Generally tired room but fairly clean and comfortable. Perfect for the short stay I needed.

For the price, I cannot fault this accommodation. Really lovely staff, very basic rooms but good size, nice bath in the room I stayed in. Heating came on about 7pm bit cold before then but purely used the place to sleep in. Useful place to stay. Lidl is right opposite for basic essentials. No breakfast served lbut town is a 10 min walk with huge choice. Very happy

Great value for money. Well located, not far from a good pub. Easy to park. Cleam rooms and friendly owner. Would book again if needed.

Fridge and kettle in room a plus. Shower was poor, faulty temperature control? It went from scalding to freezing in the turn of a few degrees. Unable to alert staff as no one around after we had checked in around 4:30pm and no one in morning when we left. Breakfast was included in the booking, but no information given when checked in, and no sign of breakfast facilities when we got up at 8am, so bought breakfast locally. Room decor was poor and outdated. Only saw one member if staff, a young girl who took our payment when we arrived. Overall there was a lack of customer service and the stay was underwhelming for the price. We wish we had done as we usually do and booked the local Premier Inn, which was slightly cheaper and would have been much more comfortable (but did not included breakfast, which we didn't get anyway). Sadly we would not stay here again or recommend to friends.

The hotel was fine as a base to visit this part of Cornwall it was clean and the staff helpful and friendly car parking was no problem.
The only slight disadvantage there was nowhere to sit outside if you got back before your evening meal other than sitting in your room. However we enjoyed our stay

Lovely little room, hugh bath with shower and view from my bed had me looking at distant green fields and hills mostly. Awesome.

It was a pleasant stay, recommend the guesthouse for visitors to Cornwall

If I'd paid more than £40 for a night's stay I'd have been gutted! Pretty basic and dated

I called ahead to let them know we were arriving after the train arrived at the station at 9:45 pm, which was okay with them. The host’s cat met us while we waited at the front door (we love cats and it was very friendly). The host brought us to the room on the top floor, and we were delighted at the beautiful view of Truro’s cathedral in the distance (same direction as the amazing sunrise in the morning). The en-suite bathroom was up a half flight of stairs from the beds. The sink and toilet were vintage but clean, and the shower was new with a tankless water heater that made for a satisfying shower. Neighborhood was quiet, and we slept very well there.

For 50 pounds it served it's purpose, especially since it was close to the train station, but I would have loved a chair to sit in outside on the patio. There was nowhere to sit. Since it was really hot, a flat sheet would have also been a welcome addition. Leaving the window open was rather noisy being next to the street, but had to have it open since the space was quite hot. Perhaps a fan?

A simple, welcoming, good- value guest house. Just what we needed for an overnight stay whilst visiting our daughter

Really nice, large room in attic space with en-suite bathroom. Very friendly welcome. Easy parking at front of property. Three supermarkets within walking distance. Would have been nice to stay longer than one night.

Friendly staff. Spacious and clean room. Amenities are useful.
