One of the most accessible and social hostels I’ve been to in Europe! Really amazing people and easy to cultivate a friendship with people!

The Design Hostel was a great stay in Split! I haven't stayed at a hostel in many years and we found the staff to be very friendly and the room/common areas to be clean. There is a large supermarket next door where we picked up snacks, breakfast, and coffees.
It's a bit further out of the central area of Split than I originally thought, however it's conveniently located to a major bus route and we easily navigated the city via transit. If we ever find ourselves in Split again, I would stay here.

The front desk people said that renovations were happening so no kitchen. Some one asked for a spoon and was brought a dirty one and told to wash it themselves. The showers were not well cleaned and the bathrooms often smelled of urine. There lockers are small and oddly shaped so luggage doesn’t fit. It was easy to catch the bus into the main tourist area but not many restaurants close by. The mall is a 10minute walk.

Unfortunately I didn't sleep well.
My bed was shaking every time the upstairs neighbor turned or moved. Also I had a lumpy pillow. I covered it with towel, so it helped a little.
Bath cabin was stuck. Bathroom was dirty. I was afraid that the water would spill out of cabin when I took a shower and my ankles were deep in water. No toilet paper. No hooks in the bathroom. No kitchen or kitchen area. There's a refrigerator in the lounge area where I left my food over a night and didn't find it in the morning. I marked the food with name, room number and date and the food was stolen anyway. I've been waiting for 15 min at the reception for checking out but the staff didn't show up. I called to some kind of Ivan (I found his number on reception table) he said to leave the key and that's OK. In this case, you should leave a message to drop a key if the staff are busy at this moment. So, I just wasted my time. I wouldn't recommend this hostel.

Great value place, good base for exploring Split.

Hostel is clean. Staff is super friendly. There is a free parking outside, with motocycles bays. There is a huge store just minutes away.
It's a bit far from the city center, by walk, but it's fine (45-60 min).
The price was very good for the quality of service. I would gladly recommend this hostel.

My experience from the moment I arrived and left 101 dalmatinac was wonderful no complaints fast and efficient check in. Excellent staff by reception and restaurant staff were so helpful. Everyone was happy and smiled throughout my stay. Everyone was easy to get along with, Ivan was brilliant and could easily have a laugh with and the other colleagues by reception were helpful in the morning and evening. All the rooms were so clean and where possible the room match ups were brilliant with people that had similar interests. All the people in the hostel are easy to speak to and everyone was friendly. Family friendly with things for everyone to do locally. Help was offered 24/7

Wonderful hostel! Very clean, comfortable and big rooms. There is a free parking. Ivan was kind and the girl in the reception during the morning was also kind. I highly recommend this hostel if you’re going to stay in Split =)
Just something for improving: the shower needs a stick. It’s uncomfortable holding it during the shower.

We were given a 6 bed for the two of us. The room was comfy but not cleaned most days apart from given clean towels most days. Other then that staff was friendly and helpful. About 20-30min walk which is straight down main road to city.

This hostel great for the price! Super nice hostel with everything you need near-by. From local transport to old town or even the airport, great common area to meet fellow travelers, and a cafe which can be entered within the hostel. Had an amazing stay thanks to the staff and easily making friends. Would gladly stay here again. Only downside is it so far from everything. Also lacks a kitchen which would of been nice. Tips to improving, maybe convert cafe to a bar.

I decided to stay here because of good reviews and the price. The room and bathroom were clean and it had a modern style to it. It's a bit far from the Old Town area to walk, but the bus stop is just right outside and it's about a 15 min ride there. There's also a nice grocery store right next door. The beds were comfortable and the wifi strong. It was my first experience at a hostel as a solo female traveler and I felt safe enough here, but I forgot how hard sharing a room with strangers can be. Esp. ones that are rude and come in the middle of the night. I think if I got a whole room with a group of friends on the same schedule as me, it would of been a better experience, but the hostel itself was fine.

Very comfortable for all. We use the hotel as a base on our bike riding week from Zagreb. Location was easily accessible and we rhen used the local Uber cabs to take us back and forth to the old town at a modest cost of about £3.50 per ride. All in all a good low cost base location for visting Split

This place is actually best for group stays. I did choose a double bed room, which was spacious with free wifi. The check in was fast and the staff is very friendly. Parking is free at the premise. The big disadvantage is the main road, even with windows closed it was not my thing. However, for a night it was an ok stay.

The hotel was clean. I stayed in a 6 bed mixed dorm room. There was a shower and toilet in the room and they both had separate rooms so they both can be used simultaneously. There were also lockers with keys provided in the room and it is first come first serve. The check-in process was pretty standard. The room wasn't ready when check-in started so we had to wait another hour. The girl at the front desk wasn't that helpful about providing check-in information and had an attitude. My friend and I rented a car. Luckily, there is parking available on site. There are only two spaces that are marked for the hostel, but if you ask the front desk, they will inform you of the other spaces that can be used for parking. What was great about this hotel was that it was next to a store similar to a Costco or Super Walmart. It was easy to get toiletries and any other items you may need. There is also a currency exchange place in this store (it was a yellow booth near the entrance) and the exchange rates were a lot better than what I've seen around the other currency exchange places. Also, if you get hungry, there is a quick and affordable food stand right in front of the store. There is a bus line that goes directly to Diocletian's Palace, but it is a fairly far walk from the hostel. After finding the bus stop, 2 scheduled buses never came (it wasn't a holiday and several people were waiting). Eventually, my friend and I ended up taking an Uber to get around, which was super convenient.

I had a great stay, just one night. A little far from town but the cleanliness and modernness of the hostel made it worthwhile staying!

The hostel is very clean, comfortable, good air conditioning. The only problem was that it was quite far from the beach and we had to get a bus there and the buses are frequent but quite unreliable at times. Met some great people though and would definitely recommend.

We needed someplace to stay for my family over the night until the flight next morning. The rooms were clean and in good shape. Small simple rooms, but what we needed for the stay. Small restaurant available for breakfast and simple finner. Seemed like many young peoples stayed there. A nice stay.

the hostel looks cool ,only one thing confuses me that its a mix room. Also, the public rate on the current day was way cheaper than my booked price.

This hotel as very clean and the staff were friendly. However I simply cannot recommend it for anyone staying in split for a short time due to its location. The staff provide you with a map and great info about which local bus o catch but the fact is, you have to catch one! And as with local buses, youll just be considering that next round of drink when it occurs to you that you need to get on the last bus home! Fine for long stay but not really what people generally expect from a hostel: location, location, location!

Really enjoyed the experience. Friendly staff who helped when ever you asked. Only downs are keys for lockers often not working and it needs a fridge and kitchen. Supermarket next door, bus stations both front and rear.Rooms modern well kept bathrooms one in each dorm which is unusual.Easy to find using GPS.

We arrived from Dubrovnik late in the evening. The first thing I was extremely thankful for was the air conditioning. Our accommodations in Dubrovnik did not have any AC which made it a bit difficult for me to sleep (Im spoiled; I know). There wasnt much around for restaurant options last night, but just around the corner is a grocery store, which was perfect for getting some snacks. The room is pleasant, clean, in room bath and shower (two separate areas in the room). Beds are comfy, AC works brilliantly. The hostel is rather quiet, at least while we were here, so getting a good nights sleep was easy. The staff has been extremely friendly and very helpful, plus everyone speaks English which is great since Im a horrible person and I only speak English (I should really work on that).I think this hostel is extremely good value for the money and would highly recommend it.

Was a great stay, the rooms are modern and very clean - they're also very big so not to give a cramped feeling even with several bunks. They've all got lockers in the rooms too. The staff were all very friendly and down to earth. Would 100% recommend this place - the only downside is it's slightly away from the city centre, but well worth it as you get much better value for money for a short bus ride.

101Dalmatinac is one of the best hostels I have stayed in over the years! It is very clean, helped by being a new hostel. The 6 bed dorm rooms are spacious with a locker per bed to keep your stuff secure. The hotel is in a convenient location for getting into the centre of Split and the bus stop is nearby with regular buses. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get into the centre, dependent on traffic! The hostel can be hard to find if arriving late, so just look out for the Ship Management sign, the hostel is the same building. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Design Hostel 101Dalmatinac
