The New Imperial Hotel is your best find for a proper stay in Old City Jerusalem. It's steps away from Jaffa Gate and the Holy Sepulchre. The hotel is easy for Gett and other taxi apps to locate / service and the value for what you receive at this hotel is incredible. The rooftop is a perfect spot for sunset sips and the included breakfast was beyond what I have received at most Marriotts and Hiltons.

Great place to stay in the old city.

A very beautiful place to stay...a little piece of heaven. Super nice staff. An excellent breakfast with so many options. The lemonade was sooo good. Close to everything imaginable..shopping, religious sites and some great falafels and Turkish food. I came to Israel to volunteer and will definately come again and stay at this wonderful place. Thank you!!!

Outstanding hotel with the most amazing views of all the area landmarks. It's like living inside the most historic museum with all the amenities of a modern hotel. The building itself is a historic structure that gives you the feel of time travel and the good vibes of middle eastern hospitality. The staff are extremely warm, helpful and welcoming.
The generous and high quality breakfast was exactly what we needed after a busy day of travel.
We will be back again for sure!

The room was simple, but spotless. When I first arrived, I was greeted by a receptionist with a smile that was filled with a genuine happiness that I made it. She made me feel like i was a member of the family visiting. What was awesome is that she wasn't the only member of the staff to treat my like that. Every staff member I came into contact with was genuine and glowed with happiness. My room was very simple, but spotless. You could eat off the floor. I was using a cane due to recovering from an injury, and the staff tried to help me. They did so not because they had to, but because they wanted to. I have stayed in many hotels before i retired and was quite impressed by this one. Thank you for everything

We stayed for one night and loved it. Great location next to Jaffa gate.

This is an old property with many upgrades. Unfortunately with the war, the collapse of tourism has taken its toll. Our room needed some maintenance attention that was handled immediately and they upgraded us for our inconvenience. The staff and owner were incredible. The access to Old Jerusalem made it worthwhile to be able to walk the markets and landmarks. Whe the balcony is nice, the sound from the Tower of David across the street made some nights unbearable. The staff and locals all complain but the venue continues to hold late night rock concerts. I would recommend to couples that can handle the active scene.

The Imperial was a great place to stay, I’d book it again without hesitation. Rania and the team of staff are great hosts. The building is quite unique and location perfect for exploring the old city…. Just 10 mins walk to the Western Wall, rampart walks both 1 min away, taxi rank opposite hotel, Roots and Nafoura are great dining options.

Love the history of the place. The room is as it was described. Staff were friendly. Very convenient to the new and old city. Would come back. Highly recommend

My stay was great! The staff is kind, friendly, helpful. The owner is a wonderful person, seeking to please his customers. The breakfast was varied, fresh, and healthy. Room was good, bed comfortable, all that was needed. Location excellent to all sites, I walked the entire time to all locations. Wear comfortable shoes, a lot of steps and steep walking. Favorite bakery Neemans.

This hotel has a superb location and plenty of character. It was surprisingly quiet at night. The sheets were tip top clean. Step out of the door and begin touring. For an early visit to the holy sites it is hard to beat - be back for the nice breakfast buffet. - However, the hotel shows its age. There is no elevator. It is pretty run down. Those who can cope with those conditions an unforgettable view of the old city awaits from the rooftop patio.

The hotel is in a great location for the main points of interest in the old town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s an old property and has some quirks and unique features which is part of the charm. Would stay again.

I’m not sure I have ever been so pleasantly surprised as I was here. My group of 5 loved everything about this place. The owner & staff are awesome. You could even get American style coffee (a rarity in Israel).

I realize the property is located in the Old City of Jerusalem, but the air condition in the room was not working properly which made it uncomfortable to sleep. There were also no elevators that worked which we had to carry 2 large suitcases up and down the stairs.

Breakfast was barely edible. Hard and dry eggs in tins, cucumbers and other vegetables that were clearly cut a day or two beforehand. Location by the Jaffa gate in the old city is excellent, and the staff was polite and helpful. The room was not clean, found hairs everywhere, and clearly needed a thorough going over.

This was our second stay and again, we give them 5 stars all around - value, location, breakfast, cleanliness but most of all, the service. Heads up: no elevator and at least 1-2 flights to get to the guest rooms. Will definitely stay here again for our next visit to Jerusalem.

The property is beautiful close to everything we wanted to see, however it is old, shower was broken but still worked. We didn’t spend much time indoors so it was perfect for our trip. Breakfast is great ! Staff super friendly!

You cannot beat the location of the New Imperial Hotel! In addition, the breakfast was delicious and sophisticated. The dining room where breakfast is served is bright and elegant. The staff was beyond polite and accommodating, especially the front desk staff. They did all they could and then some to enhance our stay. The rooftop patio was spacious and afforded an amazing view of the Citadel and Tower of David right across the street as well as the Dome of the rock and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. I cannot wait to return to this hotel. 5 stars! (The only negative is that there was no elevator, but this did not pose a problem for me)

Beautiful hotel, perfect location for walking the old city 😍

I stayed there for a week. This hotel is near one of the entrance gates of the city.
It’s in very good location. It’s a clean hotel with very good and friendly staff and clean environment. I was staying the side of the city entrance with a balcony in the evening I enjoyed the view of the entrance of the city from the balcony.
At the top of the hotel is place to sit and watch the surroundings .
I had great time.

Awesome hotel. Great location!

Very welcoming staff. Quietness of hotel depended on tourists and the awareness of their surroundings while retreating to their rooms. Normally, it was quiet after 11 pm. Bathroom was new and clean. AC was working and was necessary in July. Continental breakfast was included.

This property located right next to Jaffa Gate is easy to walk everywhere in the old city of Jerusalem. The historic building is much unique and interesting. The rooftop is amazing for the night view of the city.

I booked this hotel because it is a stone throw away from the Jaffa gate and a right in the middle of everything that is Old City Jerusalem. We had a balcony that overlooked a bustling street that my enjoyed especially late in the afternoon. There are several small grocery stores, restaurants, and ATMs, right outside the hotel and some are even below the hotel. The saving grace of this hotel is its location. I was so disappointed that this hotel appeared to have been abandoned by who ever was managing it. The reception area is in the second floor. You go to the side of the building, then you get buzzed in by some invisible person. Good thing the street vendor close by showed us what to do so we can get inside the hotel. Nobody was by the door, we had to climb up a long flight of stairs with our luggage. No elevator. Once we got up, checking in was fast and easy. We got a suite with one bedroom. The bigger room where the mini kitchen was had a TV that was mounted in an odd position, mounted by the head of the bed. So you have to lie down with your pillows on the foot of the bed. The electricity outlet in the kitchen did not work, at least not both. We had to unplug the refrigerator every time we heat up water for tea or made some coffee/espresso. The other room had an espresso/coffee maker on table with no electricity outlet to plug it in, so what was the point of that??!
The room was clean, housekeeping lady was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very limited.

This is a charming hotel in the perfect location, with an incredible rooftop area and very helpful service. I'll mention a few small downsides but then say why I think it is such a great place to stay. The biggest downside (which really didn't bother me, but might some people) is that, unless I misunderstood badly, you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet but have to put it in a bin instead. The bin is lined and has a lid, so it's really not bad, but takes some getting used to. A second downside, which I'm sure was my fault, is that I never figured out how to get the shower to be hot. I bet if I had asked at reception they would have told me how it works. Thirdly, and finally, my room was advertised as small and it was. But it was perfectly big enough for me, the bathroom was pretty big, and I paid a low price because the room was smaller. So, really not much of a downside at all.
The best things about the hotel are the location (right next to the old city, so easy to walk to the main things you want to see and convenient for taxis, restaurants, etc.), the friendly service, and the amazing rooftop, which allows you to see the whole city. At night the Citadel (aka Tower of David) puts on a light show with music, and you get a perfect view from this rooftop. I'm not sure how anyone else would ever see it, so it's as if there were a show just for guests at this hotel. It's magical. There is also a big pair of binoculars so you can get a closeup view of the Temple Mount.

Loved the ambience and decor. It felt like taking a step back in history but not old. Staff was friendly and helpful. Perfect location. I would definitely stay here again.

There is no elevator at all. Reception area is on the second floor. All rooms are on the second and third floors. Bed was really hard, it was one mattress on a wooden bed, no box spring. Reception personnel were rude.
Breakfast attendants were really nice!!
