TThis is a great lodge to stay in while visiting Grand Canyon. You step out of your room facing the grand view of canyon. A few more steps take you to Bright Angel Trail.

The only downfall was the parking is horrible. Anyone can park outside of the hotel and so it was very very hard to find a parking spot. They need to have designated parking for people who stay at the lodge.

Perfectly located at the rim. Maybe not the most beautiful architechture but it did have it’s charm. And when you see the Grand Canyon from the window you don’t need anything else. Harveys café was awesome for breakfast.

Thunderbird Lodge was amazing. Our room was SO nice, clean and amazing view of Grand Canyon!! Loved that you could walk right out for sunset, sunrise, easy access to Bright Angel trail, shuttles, shopping and food. SO hope to come back someday!!

Steps away from the Grand Canyon, clean room with all the usual amenities.

Parking is scarce. I wish the lodges would designate certain parking for lodge guests only. A lot of day use visitors grabbed the lodges parking spots.

Great location, just make sure you book the correct one as there are 2 in the area with same name

The room was neat and clean, we didn't find much difficulty except for parking space. But I understand it would be difficult in a national park. I was luck that my room was in the first floor and I didn't need to carry my big suitcase in stairs.
The room was large enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. We enjoyed the scenery around the area.

First of all I would like to say that check in at the lodge was great. Jeremiah helped us during check in and provided information regarding the Grand Canyon bus line and dining facilities.
As far as the room goes, it was not great . Towels were old and dingy looking . We had two queen beds . One had hair on the sheets and the other had stains on the sheets. I was not thrilled with the cleanliness of the room. It was also dated which bothered me less than the sheets and towels not being decent. I felt like I was in a dorm . I will say this, it was nice staying in Grand Canyon village . Very convenient and easy to get around. I would have given this place 3 stars only but because customer service was great at the front desk I gave it 4 stars. We were going for more of the experience than the rooms.

It was great to be right on the rim.

The AC sounded like a freight train and did not cool properly and we couldn’t get a good night sleep . Opened the window to cool the room, within a few minutes, a mouse came through the screen and we spent all night looking for it. Room was not cleaned because the policy is to clean after checkout! Asked for fresh towels, they gave us 2 for a family of 4. The bathroom floor and toilet moved whenever the next door tenants used it. The only good thing about the place is the location. You still have to pay an entry fee to get to your cabin and spend a long time looking for a parking. For the money we paid, our expectations were much higher. Will not go back!

Can’t beat having the canyon outside your hotel room! Rooms are very dated but do the job.

Nice place to stay at the incredible South Rim, though the hotel is a bit of the old style. Price is reasonable considering the stunning location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Historic lobby. Decent dining, though food was slightly expensive. I would return.

The Thurderbird Lodge is a dated hotel. It was a small room, a small bathroom, and had a very limited view of the canyon. They called it a partial view, and that is no joke. The first floor jutted out where our room was, and that hindered the view from our window probably more than other rooms. What made things worse is that our room was near the utility room for the entire hotel and it was very noisy the whole time! The toilet in our room ran and made noise, but the utility room sounds washed out the toilet noise. Luckily, we were pretty tired and were able to mostly ignore it. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Be warned that there is no elevator. I don't know why I thought there would be one, but I did. If I had known, I would have gotten a 1st floor room to avoid hauling all of our luggage upstairs. The thing this hotel has going for it is that it is in the middle of Grand Canyon Village and you are staying in the park. Beyond that, it is overpriced for what you get and needs updating badly.

This accommodation was clean, quiet and adequate for our needs.
A perfect setting right on the ridge of the Grand Canyon.
Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

The first room we were given had vomit in the toilet. We went back to the front desk and the gave us another room. The second room had blood in the bed. We went back to the front desk for a third room. The third room was fine but having to go back a few times was not a great way to begin a stay. The hotel gave us a 50. dollar credit. Not satisfactory but better than nothing I guess.

The room was clean and comfortable. There were some leftovers from previous guests in the mini-fridge but not a big deal. The location is what it's all about. It's amazing to be able to look down into the Grand Canyon from your room. It was a blast to stay in the park.
Depending on when you arrive, parking can be a bit tricky. We had to walk a little but it wasn't too bad.

Location, location, location
The property is old and dated, which in my experience is typical of the lodges we have stayed in inside national parks.
The main advantage is that it is inside the boundaries of the Grand Canyon National Park. It is located on the rim of the canyon, which allowed us to walk out of our room directly onto the rim trail. With our limited visiting time, this was exactly what we needed.

Overall great. For such a hot day the ac in the room couldn’t be set very low and there was no sugar or cream with the coffee (and no one answering out front desk calls). Overall great for its location.
