Had a nice stay. Comfy bed, could've used a couple softer pillows. Justin (mgr) was great & got our tv working (replaced batteries in the control). So happy we had our king bed room on the first floor!! Continental bfast not bad: Egg/cheese/sausage croissant good, had pop tarts, pkgd oatmeal & coffee (would've been nice to have a pot of decaf coffee, too, but made it in our room w/the Keurig.
Loved we only had to walk 1 block to train depot!! Gave us extra requested blanket.
Very nice place to stay!! Staff nice/polite!

This is the second year we’ve stayed here on our trip to Colorado. It’s near the downtown area & close to shops & restaurants. Our room this year had a private balcony which we enjoyed in the evenings the 2 nights we were there.

Place is tired and needs a facelift but most convenient for train

Despite being booked for 2 nights, we had no housekeeping service provided. No clean towels no trash removal no cleaning or bed making. The ac did not work, although staff eventually fixed it after some time. Our room keys stopped working and we had to get another set. Just one lousy thing after another!! Each issue interrupted our stay!

The Air conditioning went out Saturday evening and nothing was said to us or done about it. We could not get our room below 76°. In the morning I went to let the staff know our air wasn't working during checkout and the young man at the counter was very rude and dismissive. He then started arguing with me about a comment I made about the needs not being queens. He told me "I have a measuring tape and will take you into that room and show you they are the right size". That comment made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcomed.

We were there for a family event, the staff was great and the hotel is near within walking distance of restaurants and shopping.

Very handy to town and durango train. Older but clean and tidy. A bit overpriced breakfast was very basic and could be missed

Great location in downtown Durango. Clean, comfortable room. Balcony is a nice feature as well as the pool and hot tub. Nice staff.
4.4
Parking was a little crazy but the front desk guy guided me into a great spot. Room was a little dated, but clean. Felt safe here. Highly recommend!

The hotel is in walking distance to the train and several restaurants. It has a pool and friendly staff it's a little pricey but location location.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms were comfortable and very convenient to downtown and the train station.

Great location, very friendly staff, very convenient breakfast, Awesome Pool and Hot Tub right in downtown Durango a half a block from the train station and museum and minutes walk to all other restaurants downtown

Upon arrival at another hotel in the area, I discovered my reservation had been incorrectly cancelled. It was close to 10pm, so I was limited in my options for a place to stay. When I arrived at the Durango Lodge, the desk manager informed me that the room I'd just reserved should NOT have been listed as available - he had removed it because a prior guest had smoked in the room and the scent was still present. He was helpful in calling around for other hotel availablity, but as it was now getting on 11pm and I had been travelling since 5am, I opted to take the room. With the AC on all not, it was not too terrible - room was clean and comfortable otherwise.
The silver lining of the stay was that the hotel is directly across the street from the Train Station, so I could easily go there to watch the trains leaving in the morning...
I will be reaching out about the reservation errors in my original stay and what I think was an excessive cost of my alternate accommodation...

Having connecting rooms was a plus to an overall great stay.

Great stay, the location is key to this property. Well worth it, we were in Durango to take the train and it worked out perfectly. Big room too, nice balcony to chill on at night. Will stay here next time we're in town for sure.

It was a nice last minute stay close
To the railroad. The hotel is aged a bit but friendly staff and accomplished what we needed. Price was just ok for the accommodation.

Jason was wonderful and accomidating. Property is tight, parking even more so. Pool is deep, hot tub in its own room was lovely. If you're riding the Durango and Silverton it's a short walk. Downtown is handy, shopping and dining are plentiful in the summer season.
4.4
A very well-run property. Steps from the train station. Beautiful little saltwater pool and hot tub very clean and well-maintained, comfy chairs. Could not have gone better. Very thoughtful of tourist’s needs.
4.4
Nice and clean hotel. The front desk people were very helpful. Everything is walkable. Great experience

Was a great location. Staff was great.

Very convenient to shopping, dining and the train. Felt safe and the staff was very helpful.

The place is OLD, as old as I am, and I'm 57 years old. The sheets, interior was ok, but not worth $300/night. The internet was spotty if that, which should be more than adequate since there is no landline phone in the room.
4.4
Great hotel right off Main Street. Everything was walking distance.

Jason was very welcoming and efficient.

I was little worried when we pulled up to this cute but small hotel. I had forgotten to make sure there was either a first floor room or elevator since I am handicapped. We pull up to the office and I get out with my cane, the young man at the front desk noticed immediately and after I gave my name he asked without prompting if I would prefer a first floor room. Then he helped us find a convenient parking spot. In the room, which was very comfortable and clean, there was a small bag with rags and a note for us to use them to clean messes in the room or our car or whatever. It was nice to see a hotel actually be eco friendly and think about customer needs. We will be back!
4.4
Staff is pleasant and accommodating. Overall the place is a little tired, could use some refreshing. Unfortunately other guests are loud and noisy late into the evening. Parking is limited, seems like not enough spots for everyone who stays. Not to mention all the motorcycles parking one per slot in addition to trucks with attached trailers taking up multiple slots.
4.4
It was in a great location within walking distance to everything.
4.4
Really clean with extra touches. Super convenient to downtown, very short walk to everything. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
4.4
Room on the small side and beds are doubles, not queens. Room and bathroom clean and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Location can't be beat. Grab and go breakfast but lots of options.
4.4
Loved that they let us use the pool area for our barbecue.
4.4
Within walking distance of historic properties.
4.4
Clean secure property with indoor hallways for access. Motel is the closest you're going to find to the D&SNGRR. it is also within walking distance to many restaurants and shop in the old town area.
4.4
There's construction going on near property, noisy

Loved Durango Lodge, it's downtown, walkable to any/every business imaginable. Even walked to a guitar shop to look for a potential new guitar.
The Lodge is THE place to be for the Durango/Silverton Train experience.
Once complaint, like it or not, people vape and smoke.
Create a designated place for smoking.
Felt like a criminal sitting on a street curb drinking morning coffee with a smoke.
Seriously, the train is so close, this place is bathed morning and evening in diesel engine exhaust and excess oil smoke from the train engines.
Cigarette or vaping contributes next to zero to the air quality.

Friendly staff and the pool was so great to have. Breakfast was ho hum but hey all around good stay
4.4
Great location, near RR station, restaurants, shopping, Lodge breakfast options very limited.
4.4
Very clean and extremely close to a bagel cafe for breakfast and the Durango train to Silverton
4.4
Closest hotel to the main tourist activities.

We liked everything including the pool and hot tub because it was opened a night when it was cooler 😎 thank you from myself and my husband and we will definitely stay there again in the future
