It was a fabulous stay as always a really nice hotel in every way

Amazing stay at this beautiful historic hotel in Bridport.
Tasty Sunday lunch , comfortable bedrooms, they love dogs and a hearty breakfast - top that with exemplary service from Suzanne - a real gem at this place 5 ๐๐๐๐๐

This beautiful coaching inn lived up to it's reputation for our three day break. Very friendly and helpful staff at all times together with lovely food. Would not hesitate to revisit. Mick & Jackie.

An old pub great to break our journey to the Plymouth ferry.

Very disappointing stay. Room was tiny - too small to even have a bedside table each side and no room for a chair. Small fan-light window only so little fresh air. Only available surface was over-cluttered (with kettle, coffee machine, cooling fan, tea tray) so nowhere to put anything and surface was not clean (coffee marks not wiped) and mugs not properly washed. One packaged item of toiletries partially used by previous occupant. Lighting too poor to read by.
Staff were in the main were unhelpful and indifferent. No where to sit for pre-dinner cocktail so had to be at dining table and encouraged to eat earlier than booked as table was needed. No apology for lengthy wait for breakfast next morning.
Towels and biscuits were good though!

The Bull is a great place to stay: steeped in history, but furnished with all the quality facilities that the discerning traveller could wish for: friendly, efficient staff, great master bedroom, super food & excellent location!

Very friendly and helpful team.

Fantastic couple of days. Carnival weekend so such a great atmosphere. Close to a wide range of shops fairly easy walking distance to beach if you are relatively fit but regular public transport. In summary great location. Comfortable, clean room with very friendly service. I would definitely recommend

Great staff and breakfast. Very overpriced, tiny, hot rooms no air conditioning. Have never stayed in such a hot hotel. Would have been ok if cheaper but not value for money.

Huge room. Nice, clean and stylish. Had everything we needed including toiletries and WiFi. Breakfast was amazing. Staff friendly. Great location - if you can drive and you want to stay near coast!

Great spot for exploring local area and lovely walk to West Bay. Staff were always polite, friendly and helpful at all times which makes your stay. Great food and options. For a Fullers establishment there was only one ale on tap, no other Fullers bottled options at all which was a shame. We stayed in a deluxe double, it was in a great spot off courtyard, very clean but could do with a bit of tlc. Stains on sofa, furniture a bit worn and shower rack hanging on for dear life, but overall had a lovely stay in charming old inn

Donโt stay here if stairs are an issue, no lift awkward doors at the top of stairs and not easy to manoeuvre cases up to 2nd floor. Breakfast buffet had to keep asking for things and didnโt rate the food. Watery scrambled eggs. Went to what looked like a reception desk to ask about things and never seemed to be anyone there.

Very warm and welcoming. We couldnโt be happier staying at the Bull. The service was exceptional. My 3 year old loved the bunk bed in her own room with the supplied toys. Breakfast was great and the dinner was very enjoyable. Couldnโt wait to write a good review for the staff and hotel.

Room description far better than in reality. Only fit for people living from small suitcase. 4 coat hangers. Drawers not big enough for a folded shirt. Winter jumped ..no way.
3 tea bags only. I 2cm diameter piece of soap, .... everything mean and penny pinching. Bathroom nothing special.
Fire door open on 2nd floor on Saturday evening!

This hotel is in a great location with parking nearby
Soon after arrival some workman had started to put up scaffolding outside my window! I could hear every word and every clang!
I asked the front desk how long the scaffolders would be, she was curt with her response so no chance of a nap, off I went out again!
The room was small but cosy, once I removed numerous cobwebs from the ceiling!
Very noisy until late and then also in the morning, lots of chat from other guests on the way to their rooms
Shower was only lukewarm
However, breakfast was very good
I did not feel rested after my stay, which was a shame as that was what I needed

The staff were very helpful, the food was excellent, and the room was very comfortable and fully modernised.
Moreover, the room was extremely quiet considering it was at the very front of the hotel over-looking the main street. We stayed 6 nights and did not have any problems at all with noise from either inside or outside the hotel - even though we were quite close to the Main Ballroom and several evening events took place there during our stay. We would definitely stay again.
The room did have a couple of maintenance points we would mention. The shaver point in the bathroom needed replacing because the internal connections on the 240v socket are no longer capable of holding in a modern (heavier) shaver plug which has its rectifier built-into the plug (instead of it being inside the shaver itself as they were in the past).
Also, a knob was missing from the bottom drawer of the left hand bedside table which could easily be replaced even though it may not match the original. Without a knob the bottom drawer could not be used.
Apart from those points though, the room was great.

The hotel car park is small, down small roads and hard to find without the name of the road to put into the GPS.
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and the hotel/bar area/restaurant was extremely busy. We couldnโt find anywhere to sit so we went outside for a wander. The hotel is right on the Main Street and within walking distance of several pubs.
After a drink and wander we arrived about an hour early at the hotel and they were very accommodating with an early check in, which was very much appreciated.
The hotel room was extremely small, just enough room to walk around the bed, a tv and desk although the bathroom was actually a good size and big in comparison. The windows are wooden pull up/down windows and the wood was wearing. The room and bathroom were very clean although the shower seal was mouldy in places and in need of replacement. The shower was double size, so very nice and spacious and warm although i did notice the pressure the following morning wasnโt the best.
The hotel was extremely noisy at night until almost 11pm when it finally quietened down. I must admit we were concerned about how noisy it was, banging of doors, people shouting and some other very random and loud noises. But it did go quiet about 11pm and stayed quiet until the extremely noisy seagulls in the morning!
The breakfast was impressive, freshly cooked, with flexible options very enjoyable. They had a small buffet of pastries, jams etc as well which was very nice.

Quiet. Bed and Lenin was clean. Washroom and towels were clean.
Parking direction should be provided in email after reservation confirmation. Difficultly finding a parking is very limited on the street in order to stop and inquire.

Spent a lovely 3 night stay here as a family. We took one the family rooms, which was great as our 4 yr old had their own room and bathroom, plus a door between his and our rooms once he was down! Main room had very comfy king size bed and en-suite. Hotel itself is very cosy with a couple of log fires going. We enjoyed our x3 breakfasts and a dinner one evening. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, it really was a treat to stay here. We used Bridport as a base to visit Lyme Regis, West Bay, Swanage and the general surrounding area. Thoroughly recommend The Bull Hotel!
