The bed was great. Bathroom was big, almost same size as the room, but the air was a bit damp. Floor was still wet in the morning if I took a shower in the evening.
Location is great, short walk to the center.

The photos did not reflect the general condition of the room. The room was clean but it did not match the photos at all. I was expecting a more modern room, but instead it seemed like it was built years ago without renovation.
We also had a sort of loft where you had to climb up some narrow stairs to get to the bed inside the room, which I was not aware of while booking.
Staff was friendly and answered questions that we had. Location was central and we could walk to the center in a few minutes.

Won’t have stayed there if I saw the place before hand. Very nice staff but the hotel is in a terrible condition.

Nice hotel. Nice room. Friendly staff.

Very noisy, bit dirty and old bathroom. But perfect location and great beds.

Good price / room ratio. Slightly outdated, and somewhat loud indoors. Perfectly situated in the center!

Rooms were small but comfortable. Service was fantastic! Loved the suggestions for food, drinks and tips on using public transportation! Very friendly! If you're looking for a no-frills place to spend the night while visiting Ghent, I'd recommend this place!

Very close to the city center, staff are very friendly and helpful.

The Flandria is well-located for a few nights walking around (and drinking) in central Ghent. It is off the noisy strip, but just a 2-3 minute walk to the Belfry (and the rest of the pubs, sights).
The building isn't the newest, but our room -- and partiuclarily our bed -- was clean and in good condition. For the price, we have no complaints.
Would recommend if you spend most of the day out and just use the place to crash & clean up.

It was a nice bit qurky.

It was a lovely old building with the wonderful characteristics that come with such buildings. What I didn’t like was the triple bed room was not at all as shown in the picture. It was a lot smaller and the window was tiny.

Good location and good staff

Excellent location, helpful staff, very good breakfast. Not very clean, and needs maintenance.

I would come again. Little old, which you can see as retro/vintage.
But all facilties where ok and clean.
Beds ok, breakfast standard buffet.

Price very good.

It's a little out-of-date hotel, but it's very nice for the price. The staff is super gentle, and they offer an excellent service. They are willing to help you with any information about the surrounding area. The room is clean, has everything that you need, and the hotel is well-located.

Great value for money in central Ghent but set expectations accordingly as the hotel is fairly basic. This was fine for us as I had researched it and was not expecting the Ritz but others may find it basic.
The bathroom was not the best (shower base felt a bit insecure) and the common areas needed a good vacuuming.
Ishmael(sp?) was the lovely Gentleman on duty at all times and was so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Great breakfast too for a reasonable price.
Ghent is the best kept secret in Europe and to be a five minute walk from the centre of the city for a very reasonable price was perfect for us.

Disasters! Disappointed.
I was left outside, and no one provided the code from the front door.
Dirty and stinky room.
Bathroom, no heat! Waist of money.

Our private room was very basic but all we needed. Hostel vibes.
Receptionist was lovely.

My mother and I stayed here (as tourists) for a night. We loved the shared spaces; the check-in and eating areas were decorated really cute. The breakfast is great--especially the bread! The staff member who checked us in (Charlotte) was amazing and helped make our stay special. Our room was basic but could (as other reviews state) use some extra cleaning attention. There was a hole in our bathroom wall and were we a little concerned with some possible mold in the bathroom. The location was good: on a side street but close to the main area.

As 30 something person who seeks comfort above things, I had some reservation before booking a room with shared bathroom.Nevertheless, my stay at Flandria has been one of the best stays I have ever had abroad. Our room had a great view (the first time ever, I had a room with a view:) breakfast was great. Staff was very helpful and friendly, especially Charlotte!

The property is situated in a great location, though it is certainly inside a rather old building. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. If I were to make one suggestion is installing mosquito screens on the windows. Though the room had an electronic mosquito repellent device, it appears not to have worked since we spent some time dealing with them and woke up the next morning with more than few bites.

It was in a quiet area of the city, that was nice after a long day exploring the surroundings. No air conditioning was a uncomfortable for the hot days and no lift made it a bit difficult for all our luggage but it was manageable.

It was very clean, comfortable, and very close to the most beautiful parts of Ghent! The staff was so attentive and the breakfast was good. The only issue was a quite a few mosquitoes and drainflies.

Great central location but still nice and quiet.Staff were lovely, and really helpful.

The location of the hotel is great, not only close to the city center and tram stops but also situated in a quiet bloc. The breakfast is simple but fine, water runs well and the staff is friendly. The reception is closed at night. If you are not sure about how to use the key to open the entrance door to the building, don’t fail to ask the staff while the reception is open. There are no tissues in a guestroom, bring them with you.
I suggest taking a walk to the east side of the hotel, which is the opposite direction to the city center, where you can find in a minute a nice old castle still remains. If you check what the castle was, you can learn more about Gent, a wonderful town to visit
2.5
The location was excellent, very close to the old town square but still on a very quiet street with a view of the cathedral spire, an ivy covered wall and a courtyard. Staff were very helpful and breakfast very good. The only downside was that there was no elevator for those who can't do stairs.
