Showed up to hotel room after check in, the room was in alright shape however the fire alarm battery was dead and alarm was beeping battery low it took about an hr an hr and a half to get that changed my wife went to shower and the wall was covered in pubic hair I went to the front desk they told us they would put a notice in to clean it In the morning we left for the day as we left called the front desk that they could clean the room with the supervisor, we returned 5 hrs later the shower wall was still covered with pubes . I was mad went to the front desk and made them change our room. It was a stressful stay as it was my wedding anniversary. Kinda of hard to set the mood with someone else’s pubic hairs all over the wall. Vacation ruined point blank

The hotel was clean in and out. Cape May, in general, was very clean and very nice. Very little trash on the streets, and it was bicycle and pedestrian friendly.
Our biggest complaint was the price. For the season, we thought it was high. For a Sunday, it was 264.00, Monday thru Wed. it was 176.00, and Thursday was 214.00. Plus, each night had a resort fee. The other issue was cancelation options, which was a 30-day out. You could cancel if you did it 30 days in advance. We tried to cancel 2weeks out, and we were going to be charged 371.00 dollars. We also felt that the restaurants were kind of high. Breakfast ran us 42.00 to 48.00 for two people, which was a basic meal. We paid 3.50 for a small glass of juice, but the food was very well prepared. We did have a great experience with the lady at the gift shop located in the hotel.

No room service. Crazy expensive for what you get. Bathroom ceiling leaked when shower on second floor was used. All the front desk had to say was when we brought it up was.. “sorry”.

My husband and I had a great stay. Staff was attentive and friendly. the hotel offers so many options from outdoor deck, to outdoor pool, indoor pool and indoor hottub.

Liked: close to beach across the street.
Pools inside and outside.
Didn’t like: bathroom to small
commode way to small and to close to floor.

Indoor & out door pool was great.

Suite was renovated and overall clean. Area was quiet and amenities were well-maintained. Parking is a bit of a pain if you need accessible ramps. Anyone arriving after the main parking lot is full is forced to park behind the building and use a shady, non-accessible entrance that is very cramped and lined with tubs of dirty laundry.

The Grand[Pa/Ma] Hotel made us feel like being in our mid-forties is very young! Seriously, we were two of the youngest people we saw there. However, the old music and geriatric-friendly food made for a delightfully quiet, unharsh vacation with nice extra amenities, an uncrowded beach, and pleasant interactions with other guests. The hotel is quite north along Beach Ave, but the complimentary bicycle rentals allowed us free-parking access to everything shorefront with just a 5- to 15-min slow pedaling all the way down to the south end. The hotel and rooms are decorated in the modern farmhouse style and very clean with excellent housekeeping services. I highly recommend, unless you're interested in party time or have young children. Would stay there again.

I didn’t like how there was no curtains, at night the lights around the property comes through the blinds making it hard for us to sleep especially my toddler. We were on the second floor.

Location is convenient. Rooms are big. Nice balcony view. Dining options in close vicinity. Indoor and outdoor pool is nice. It might be crowded in the pools - this is relatively big hotel for the area and a lot of customers . Check-in and check-out may take some time - be ready for the wait. Drinking water pitchers in the reception are often empty and not refilled.

For the price point I was expecting more from this hotel. Highly disappointed

The staff's response was very kind and impeccable. I booked "2 double beds, pool view", but I felt the double beds were a little narrow.

Nice, motel style hotel. Indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzi were great. Beach passes and 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on the beach were included and a nice perk. However they take them back at 4:50 pm. So bring your own umbrella. Friendly, accommodating staff. Room had 2 stove top burners. AC was small and need to keep running to keep room cool. Overall, would definitely come back.

Fire alarm went off at 5:30am. No one from the hotel inform us of anything and no compensation was offered for the disruption. Parking was not adequate. Two spots taken by furniture & bicycles. Bikes barely took any space. Why not put furniture in the extra space with the bicycles?

We had a great stay! The beach service and pools were highlights of the accommodations. The two story room with ocean view was perfect for our family of 4. The only improvements we could note would be more dresser space, quicker drains (hard to keep up with sand, I'm sure), and would prefer key card access be required to upper floors. Would recommend and would stay again!

Really nice property, staff was cordial and professional even got a call from the front desk a couple of hours after checking in to see if the room was in proper order, never had that happen before

This is my 3r time in this Hotel. I always had a good experience but this time unfriendly, unprofessional staff named Karen used an inappropriate tone and behavior when she knock our room threating my family and me with the police, and recording our conversation with her cellphone without my consent.
She accusing us for noises and dogs barking that was not coming from our room. We went dinner and this was the surprise when we came back.
I invited her to come inside the room and check for everything that she was accusing but she denied to enter.
This person needs to be trained in order to work with hotel costumers.
I don't think Im ever coming back to this hotel.
Beside the experience with the staff they also need to improve the pool cleaning, the water and walls of the outdoor pool was very oily from sunscreens.
The kitchen appliances very limited and I suggest to buy your own coffee for your stay because coffee was very bad flavor and quality.

I paid $400 for this hotel for one night. I was on the2nd floor. This must be a super old building they trie do renovate because the in solution was awful. You can hear everyone above you running around stomping etc. The people above me had like 4 children in their room. All you hear is running and foot steps till 12 am. Didn’t get any sleep until they went to sleep. That’s the only negative review. Other than that, friendly staff. Pool is nice. Nice people around. Just awful insulation. If you stay here, REQUEST A ROOM ON THE TOP FLOOR.

Pros - indoor and outdoor pool. Pool bar. Restaurant on property. Quick response from maintenance. Kitchenette convenient.
Cons - lack of outlets in rooms. Gym is small with old rusty equipment. Game room has broken machines. Cleaning crew not consistent. Our floor was probably never mopped over the four days we stayed at the property.

Service not helpful. Room extremely small and crowded. Amenities such as glasses and paper towels in kitchen missing. Bed sheets niot folded under mattress!

The hotel is very clean. We wish they gave a lounge chair per person, not 2 per room. There were four of us and for the rate we were charged per night it’s a lot to charge another $20 each for a chair. Otherwise staff was great. We had Christine had checkin & she was lovely. Hotel is centrally located from many hot spots without being too close so it’s still quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Great room, and location. Clean and friendly staff. Did not like that after spending over 2K for entire trip that we were not made priority to be seated in restaurant. Were told to wait an hour or sit by bar while the public was seated so we went elsewhere each meal. Staff taking orders for food by pool were super nice and efficient with a line of requests always.
4.0
The pictures are quite deceiving. The hotel is concrete with concrete grounds - a la jail cell. The size of the rooms are incredibly small. A person defecated in the outdoor pool and it was scooped out and everyone continued swimming. Pretty certain pools need to be emptied when that happens but we stayed in the indoor pool from that point on. This hotel was way too expensive for what it actually is. Every time we opened the room door, 4-5 flies would fly in; there is clearly a bug problem that could easily be fixed. Finally, in the restaurant on premises we tried to order over the phone for pick up but the woman taking the order did not understand the word “steak” after numerous attempts that my husband had to walk over and order directly with a manager. Overall, Cape May is a beautiful town with plenty of better options than this overpriced, underwhelming hotel.

Flexibility of beach and pool

We booked a room with a limited view and our view was the roof. There was no view at all. Our balcony was a closed off room. Our room was right next to the elevator and it was very noisy. We asked for a different room but there were none available.

Highlights were nice, large indoor and outdoor pools, with a 1-ft kiddie pool section and plenty of seating, and a daily kid-friendly activity, like sand art and balloon animals. The main collection of shops and food choices ranged from a 10-25 minute walk or a short drive. Strolling along the beach every morning for an hour was pleasant.
Negatives were the floor in our hotel room got very sandy (even sandy when we first arrived), most of the tv channels did not work, there was no AC in the arcade area, and the walkway outside our room was often blocked by the maid service, making it difficult to navigate with a stroller or luggage.

Hotel is not so close to Washington street, more quite. 15 minute walk, but you can also drive closer to where you want to go. Ideal for people who do not want to stay at a B&B and prefer a hotel feel.
