location was great and in a very close distance to the train station. and the central attractions.
Cleanliness, was good for the amount paid. bed linings were clear and ready to be fitted to the bed by ownself.
Staff were helpful but very busy all the time dealing with customers.
Facilities needed for a backpacker were sufficient: WiFi, Socket, Space to sit and eat and work and enjoy the time.
Bar and reception area was however, noisy and tiny and crowded most of the times.
Happy to come again if needed for a low budget visit to the city.

The accommodation is cheap and basic but is conveniently situated with a 5min walk of the railway station. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable but the bar area was tatty and dull with ripped sofas and I feel there should have been more toilets. Only 2 on each floor so often occupied.

Had a single room next to showers. The isolation was so bad that each time someone took a shower, it felt like it was happening in the room. There was no ventilation either and the outside was too noisy with the window open. Did not get much sleep.

The location of the hostel was ideal, walking distance to everything. My group stayed in a quad room and it was neat and clean.

Sadly I had a terrible experience at the Station Hostel.
I booked 3 months in advance for a private room for a 2 night midweek stay during my trip to Germany.
The location is absolutely fantastic, just minutes from the main station. Check in was friendly and efficient and I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. Super clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, nice big windows allowing plenty of light. Small desk and a lovely compact small toilet and shower.
Bedding, towels and toiletries were provided and a modest €1 is charged per extra towel if you need more than one. The common areas on the ground floor are lovely and the bar / restaurant is cosy and very welcoming. This could have been such a pleasant experience.
It wasn’t the hotel that ruined it, it was the groups of teens staying in the rooms around me. I had room 409. Rooms 410,411 and 412 had students in them who partied and misbehaved until well after 4am. I got absolutely no sleep for doors slamming, furniture being thrown about, shouting, swearing, screaming, running and fighting in the hall ways, banging on walls….. it was absolutely AWFUL. They behaved like animals with total disrespect for any other guests trying to sleep.
Sadly the staff leave at midnight and so there isn’t anyone there to deal with noise complaints and people can simply behave as they wish.
I left to go about my day the next day but felt tired and came back to try and have a nap in the afternoon, however the party had started a

The whole property, although in a nice neighborhood, appears shabby and grimy. The mattress should have been replaced years ago, and it sagged and gave me a back-ache when I got up, which affected my holiday.

The check in time is changing without notice in advanced. And the reception is not 24 hours. Shower room didn't provide any gels. And the room don't have any regulation, roommate is so annoy.

Ideal location adjacent to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) & city centre.
The dormitory, toilets, showers & communal areas were all clean.
The WiFi worked perfectly with additional hubs across the floors to ensure a good connection.
Multi lingual staff were pleasant & helpful.
I made use of the offer to store luggage free of charge after officially checking out & was pleased that the storage room had around 100 lockers, rather than just being a room where bags could be interfered with.
The only disappointment was that I was too fat for the largest available sweatshirt - would otherwise have bought one.

I didnt like the hostel, i was in a room of old men who were very drunk and sick all night. Also there was another who kept touching my stuff felt very uncomfortable

The location is impreccable. In general, the hostal is great. Unfortunately though my room smelt of cigarettes, which the manager did try and help by giving me air freshener and offering to wash the curtains if needed. Sometimes customer service could be a little more curtious, but maybe that is from a British perspective.
I stayed on New Years Eve, and the place had a good party vibe - the following days it was calm and pleasent. I didn't get chance to sign out officially as I left at 4am and there was no one on the 24hr desk - but I was in a rush so I wasn't too bothered about my euro back for the key card.
I would definitely stay there again as a solo traveller.

Excellent hostel with attentive and friendly staff. Bar is atmospheric, staffed by top class, lively and helpful individuals. Beds are comfortable. Decor is typical hostel plain style. Location is perfect, close to nightlife, shopping and railway station. Shower floors slightly slippy but water is warm and everything is clean.

Reality is the wifi only works in the hallways, toilets, stairways and a little bit by reception not in at least my room. The showers are unisex with stalls, still a little weird for foreigners. There were youth students running around in the evening being loud and obnoxious. Pretty sure it's called a backpackers so didn't expect or appreciate school kids being there. Not the vibe I was expecting. Overall, not a horrible hostel but I probably wouldn't stay again.

Im confused by a lot of the reviews. I assume they may be from long ago. Based on those I was was nervous about this stay. Happy to say that most of the reviews seem (to me) to be baseless or petty.The site is about 4 minutes walk or less from the train station and cathedral. The beer garden and rear of the hostel does face the tracks/station and so yes there is some noise but this was minor with the double glazed window open and barely noticeable with it closed. At least during my stay there was little noise from the beer garden late at night. Check in was easy and efficient. Very friendly staff all around. I was in a 5 bed dorm and this was spacious and comfortable. Each bed has a light and table. The beds are open, not bunks. Most beds made no noise one in thre room squeaked a bit when the guy rolled over. Rent towels for a small fee and comes with soap. I carry medication that needs refrigeration and this was the first time Ive been told I had to pay to use the fridge. However, it was only 2 euro a day and the fridge rented is actually a secure fridge(imagine lockers in a fridge) which impressed me for security. There are lockers in the hallways for valuables. Bring a lock or rent one there. The toilets and bathrooms were clean, tiled and had hooks and shelves. Lots of hot water and pressure. The bar and staff were good fun. Downside - breakfast is overpricedI would definitely stay here again.

Was close to city center and the train station. The only complaint i had was the upstairs was stuffy so that you needed to keep the windows open all night. And so i would wake up to a few mosquito bites.

Had a great time here. Staff were great, especially the bar staff. The room was big and wasnt crowded with bunk beds, instead it was just single beds, it was great to not feel confined by having a bed above you.

Next to the Cathedral and the train station. Perhaps too close to the train station, if you sleep with the windows open, you'll hear all the trains. In my five beds bedroom, there were virtually no electric plug. All the beds had personnel lamps, but none of them were plugged in, which meant that people had to open the main lamp at night when coming in. Also, I had to use my battery bank to charge my phone at night. The opening and especially closing doors are noisy, not the best at night. The washroom are nice and clean in the morning, but can be quite disgusting at night, especially on Friday or Saturday night since there's a bar downstairs and people are partying. There's nice big lockers in the hall, but none in the rooms.
