Unique historical house with very friendly owners.

We left after 5min because of cleanliness. We found a hair in the bed, and a pile of (dirty?) bedsheets bunched up on the floor in the closet. The property is in a state of disrepair with rotted boards, broken banisters and overgrown landscaping. We went to the owner's house next door when we arrived and the entrance was covered in cobwebs. The Stratford Motel is about the same price and it is better value. The owner seems nice enough however.

Thanks to Bernie and Pam for the opportunity to stay in their charming summer overflow house right in the heart of downtown. The place is spacious and well-appointed and has different vibrant wall colours in every room! Amazing value, ideal location, kind hosts. Be aware that the walls are thin so you might want to bring earplugs if you are very sensitive to noise.

Bernie kindly greeted us very late at night after a long day of airline delays. The suite was everything we needed for a few days in Whitehorse and was within walking distance of downtown. There's a beautiful garden in the back and two friendly dogs, although they nearly gave me a heart attack when we arrived so late at night ha ha. It was a great stay at the Historical Guest House.

When we were arriving, I messaged the property to let them know when we would likely check in but received no response so I was a little worried that no one would be there to check us in! Thankfully Bernie was there in the end to check us in. Would have been nice to get a response though! Upon arrival the front door lock was broken but Bernie fixed it that day. Our room only had a bolt lock so there was no way to lock it if we weren’t in the room itself so something to keep in mind. The guest house had everything we needed to cook which was nice and the green room perfectly fit 3 people. The house itself is a historical house so is old and creaky so it is impossible to be really quiet if getting up in the night unfortunately but something to expect when booking here. That being said, this was good value for the price and having the ability to cook is a great way to save money when travelling !

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It was perfect for our family of four who spent a few days exploring Whitehorse. The suite had everything we needed and was close to downtown. It's not a fancy place (which suited us just fine!) but the property and suite are well maintained and the owner, Bernie, was incredibly helpful and nice. I would definitely recommend!

Great place, especially for a larger group. We were comfortable and cozy. Homeowner was very personable and helpful.

Has potential. Security ia a challenge. My bedroom door did not lock from the outside and the front dòor was often unlocked. I had to go downstairs in the night to use the washroom. The house felt empty and there was no service other than when arriving.

the place is alright, if you get to see somebody (bernie) nice guy,but not for that price, at all, and you guys make it 20 dollars per day more expensive.

I made a reservation because of its location in downtown Whitehorse. Except for the bathrooms, the house and its furnishings are largely old and a bit shabby. The stove and refrigerator, for example, look like they're from the 1980s. Nevertheless, the house is very homey, clean, and comfortable. The host was very nice, allowing my daughter and her boyfriend to park their rental RV in the house's space overnight. The host made a fire in the parlor stove in the evening, which took the chill off the house and undoubtedly saved on heating fuel costs. Be advised that the bathrooms are on the ground floor, and people staying in one of the upper rooms have to go downstairs through the parlor and kitchen to use the facilities.

We love this place! Of course, the historical house is beautiful, but the greatest part of this B&B is warm hospitality of the host Bernie. We enjoyed the time we shared with him at his garden after dinner. It was really comfortable and made our staying more satisfying.
Rooms and furniture are lovely with the historical atmosphere. Kitchen and washrooms are very clean and tidy. As we could have a self-serve style breakfast, we could feel easy when we went out early in the morning.
Anyway, we appreciate their hospitality and definitely will stay here next time in Whitehose again!

It was quiet and had very friendly staff, I thought they could of had more food items there for breakfast for the price of the room.

Great location, short walk to downtown, lovely gazebo out back to sit in during the day, friendly owners. We'll stay there again!

This is a lovely place to stay in Whitehorse. It has character in a way no hotel ever could. It is perfectly placed in relation to the centre of town. And it is run by Bernie, who is the most genial and helpful host you could ever meet.
There is a shared lounge/tv room and fully-equipped kitchen, which means you will probably meet your fellow guests, if you want to. We had very interesting companions. You might think that that is just luck but my guess is that the real reason is that this is the just the sort of interesting, quirky place that naturally attracts interesting people.

Our hosts were very attentive to our needs and created a cozy home for us during our winter visit. We were in the downstairs suite and had all the fixings for breakfast and a kitchen that allowed us to cook our meals when we wanted too. This is an old Yukon home and is not adapted for people with mobility challenges. Looking forward to returning enjoying the hospitality of Pam and Bernie

We love old homes and the Historical Bed and Breakfast is an old home, full of character. We value privacy - but also value friendly and available hosts. Bernie and Pam were right across the garden and made it very clear that they could be called upon for any thing, large or small, that we needed. Their two friendly dogs (I love dogs) could be met in the garden, but didnt attempt to enter the guest house. - I cant say enough about how much we enjoyed staying there. Wed go again for sure, and are recommending it to our friends.

Three seniors on a four day road trip. Not a hotel but a house with the owners living half a lot away. We had a great time there. The house has two bedrooms upstairs. Because there were no other renters there Bernie gave us both rooms. We had the whole house to ourselves. We watched tv in the living room warmed by the a wood burning stove. The living room was filled with antiques...some quite lumpy but we were comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Some of the look was do-it yourself. In the mornings my companions walked to a coffee shop for lattes, etc. We could have walked to some fine restaurants but it was unseasonably cold. Bernie was helpful. Full kitchen but only cold cereal with milk, tea, and coffee were provided. Both friends wanted to make sure I wrote a good review.

Very friendly owners. Kitchen available to make meals if you want. Great location for walking and restaurants.

Great place to stay in Whitehorse. Walking distance from just about everything and you have access to the entire house. You can buy food and cook your own meals. For breakfast, they put cereals on the counter, bread, jams and milk in the fridge and everything you need to make coffee. Satellite TV in the living room and the number of bathrooms matches the number of rooms. Simple and you can make the place as efficient as you need it. We loved it although the pampered crowd might not.

We spent two nights in this B&B. The house is over 100 years old but renovated with new bathrooms. Pam and Bernie (the owners) harvested fresh raspberries right in their garden and kept them in fridge for the guests. What a lovely touch!

We were greeted with warmth and friendliness. The wood stove was kept stoked 24 hrs/day. A basic supply of cereals, milk, bread, coffee, tea, jams etc. was available in a clean kitchen.
We had clean towels and bedding. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping.
The atmosphere was informal, rustic and cozy, with interesting books and brochures set about if one is interested in the history of the area. I think this facility is a perfect place to stay for anyone who wants to experience a place that has its' own unique charm.
