I’m uncomfortable leaving a photocopy of my full credit card details and passport with front desk. They need to do a pre authorization on the machine like normal hotels.
Room is nice, very small but has what we need.

Everything wonderful about Old San Juan! Historic building beautifully kept up, has an amazing rooftop bar. We got to visit with the hotel owner who was friendly and kind. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit with the pullout bed in the couch. We had a private 1st floor courtyard sitting area, very special treat! Hotel is very private and quiet. Decor is very nice and room was pristine clean. Staff are friendly and accommodating, even helped us find parking close by. NOTE: NO PARKING at hotel.

Beautiful little boutique hotel, great location to walk all around old San Juan. Shopping, bars restaurants, the port and old Spanish forts all easy to see on foot. Staff was very friendly and rooms and common areas are beautiful.

Only one night after a cruise but what a great choice we made. The service is amazing and so well located in the old town. We recommend for sure!

Staff could not have been nicer. The hotel is in a great location; within walking distance of all the sights.

Beautiful property in the Old San Juan area! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Conveniently located close to local shops and stores in the area. Can get a bit noisy on the weekends but that is to be expected given the area you are in !

If you're looking to stay in a clean, well run, affordable place in the heart of Old San Juan, this place is PERFECT. The staff is friendly. The roof top tapas bar is great. And you are literally staying at the first constructed area of Old San Juan - right next to the Cathedral, 100 meters from the Red Gate, minutes from El Morro. Absolutely great!

Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff

The hotel itself is nice. The room was clean, tall ceilings, and very good A/C. Our problem was that it is very noisy at night. Even with earplugs, pillows over head, the noise of the drunken people leaving the bar that was just below our window was tough. We likely will not stay at this hotel again.

Hotel was super nice and the staff was amazing. I gave the hotel 4 stars because the rooftop bar was only open in the weekend. i stood there during the week and didn't have access to the rooftop nor had the opportunity to enjoy any amenities. Would have liked access and a choice of a bar onsite.

This hotel is in a convenient location is Old San Juan. It was a charming place and had everything we needed and the room comfortable, and clean. Coffee maker for espresso and lattes. The roof top bar provided a beautiful view of the city. Very friendly staff. Would stay again.

Property was completely inflexible with my reservation when a Tropical Storm (Ernesto) came through and my plane flight was changed to the next day I was supposed to arrive. I was scheduled to stay at this hotel my first night. I missed the window to move or change my date by less than one day (which was still 3 days before my original arrival date). I didn’t even want to cancel but wanted to move my reservation to later in the week. Hotels.com reached out on my behalf about moving the reservation, as did I but they would not budge and I lost my money (several hundred) for the hotel room. Completely sad that they have such a rigid, inflexible policy in the event of a natural disaster. Seems more than a little unfair when it was completely out of my hands because of flights.

Unique hotel in excellent location in the heart of Old San Juan. We enjoyed our king balcony room, watching people walk by day and night. The staff was so friendly and helpful, especially Natalia and Cain! Hotel, parking is valet only but we parked at La Puntilla lot a few blocks away for a $3 a day bargain price. Excellent property for exploring San Juan.

Towels were dark and are in need of a really good wash. However, the staff were friendly. The hotel was okay near everything in old San Juan.

For our first trip to Puerto Rico and Old San Juan. I think the 3 of us picked a good hotel with nice decor that is in a central location to all the places you would want to visit. We walked everywhere. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I loved the room and it was very clean the balcony was a great feature looking over the streets of old san juan. The roof top bar was amazing. Disappointed the restaurant and roof top didnt open till dinner. The also dont have a luggage cart to help you to ur room. For a quick trip thats fine but i stayed there my last 2 nites of a 2 week trip and had to do 3 trips up and own for all my stuff. They should have a cart.

We loved every single staff member ! Everybody was super accommodating and nice! The hotel is in a greattttt location, we loved to be able to walk around and explore.
One thing I did not like but it’s just preference was the lighting in the room, we were two girls staying in one room and there wasn’t enough areas to get ready other than the restroom. The other mirror in the closet did not have light by it (or I couldn’t find any at least). Also it was just a bit strange to have VIP access and have a room on the first floor, we could hear everybody and sometimes would get waken up by people near our room.
Other than that our stay was amazing!

The staff at the front desk was so helpful, not only with restaurant information, but with holding our bags and calling us a taxi to the pier. The hotel has a rooftop bar with great drinks and spectacular views of the city. The bar staff was friendly as well. The Decanter is walkable to many shops and restaurants and the local supermarket that even carries alcohol.

This place has a great location and the the employees were super friendly. The only problem was that we like to sleep in a dark room and it was some light from the air conditioning that we couldn’t turn it off.

This hotel is in a great location and everything is easily walkable in the area. Parking is challenge and the hotel has no parking services though there are garages nearby. The hotel itself is simple. It's quite expensive for the experience itself but I expect that is due to the location. The room was clean with good AC but very simple. Staff was kind but did not offer to help us with any bags when we checked in which is a small thing but pretty standard with hotels.

We only needed to stay in Old San Juan for one night to get the experience of being walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, etc. But this property looks very nice in their profile, but in real life isn’t as nice. I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s very convenient if you want to be jn Old San Juan, but it’s not very family friendly.

Staff were very friendly and good location. The room was very small and the windows were plastic so you could hear everything from the atrium in the room.

Hotel Decanter is a cute, high quality, boutique hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. Very nice rooms and good variety of room choices. The roof top bar is not open Mon- Wed, but the rooftop is accessible for great sunset pics of historic skyline. Old San Juan is very old, there can be problems with electric and wifi service. The streets are very narrow. Parking lots did not exist >200 years ago. Uber service is convenient and reliable. Hotel staff are amenable and considerate. No Pool, No breakfast.

Room was smaller than depicted in pictures. The mattress was quite firm and had a hard time sleeping. The hotel is quaint and overall quiet. Not much room to move around in the single bed room.
